Gmod9 should never be mentioned, it's dead, and the corpse is now used by the few too cheap to get Gmod10 or those unable to buy online. I myself prefer SMOD. This video shows why. But other versions of SMOD are more enjoyable(SMOD:Outbreak makes the early levels a zombie survival game and adds monsters from other games, like Hell Knights and some S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mutants). Most versions of SMOD also add a proper 3rd person model to play with. |

I once made a defense grid that launched, protected, and obliterated anything at my command, all automatically based on a crafted tool that painted things as threats or allies. |

Muckraker Posts: 277 Joined: 11 May 2008 | I wish I knew how to work it all properly. I see these weird things people make like giant catapults, lifts and cars, but I can't make any. I still have the game though and sometimes play on the puzzle servers which are so fricking difficult sometimes. |

I wanted to make a giant metal man. In my own image. I will. It will, in fact, lag like gods own copy of Crysis. |

Forgive me if this has been threaded before, but it's my first post :D
First of all, a brief description of the game. There are 2 different games; Gmod 9 (which is free), and there is Gmod 10 (about £10), both of which require HL2 or any Source engine games, fantastic games in themselves.
The game is sandbox, but in the easiest and most user friendly way I have ever seen. All you get in the pack is a physics gun for carrying things, 2 maps and a couple of tools, and set loose to do anything you want to do.
That's it.
The sheer openness of the game is unreal, with many mods available online and downloadable tools, models and maps.
It's practicaly photoshop in a game - What you put in is what you get out of it.
I would post some screenshots of my creations, but my pen-drive is buggered at the moment, I may add some later.
Head on over to www.garrysmod.com for more detials and downloads, and if you make the fantastic decision to buy, use garrysmod.org, or facepunch forums for additional material.
P.S. Does anyone have, or know of an Escapist server?
