Finally managing to get the Robes of Arugal to drop for my character in World of Warcraft after having grinded about two levels of doing nothing but running Shadowfang Keep and disenchanting at least 20 belts only to be ninja-looted. I wanted to yell "PISS BAGEL" into that guy's ear really really loud.

Pretty much every SNK boss. WHY?!

In Metroid Prime Hunters, that Morphball part with the lava and the pistons that One-hit-KO you.

Those who've played know what I'm talking about.

Good job bringing back those painful memories I baried in the coldest depths of my brain.

Yes, very annoying.

The last time I can remember getting infuriated with a game I was playing a co-op session of Baldur's Gate on the PS2 with a buddy of mine. I don't remember the stage too well, but it was this huge chasm covered with a few floating platforms that dropped away the second you landed on one. Now, one of my pet peeves is jumping puzzles in games with an isometric view, but I figured as long as one of us was able to make it across that godforsaken hole, we could just resurrect the other at the next check point... no dice. For some reason, the developers made this one of the few places in the game where the screen wouldn't scroll on if you died too early into the puzzle... We spent a good hour and a half on that stupid pit and finally got up and left to go grab a pizza, though that was more of a cover story to get away from the bloody game. I would have broken the controller in two if it had been my system.

Bah! The next time I see a jumping puzzle in an isometric game where you can't move the camera, heads will roll.

ICO, the game in whole was just annoying, trying to get that stupid woman (i forget her name) to follow you and she'd disappeared halfway across the level GRRR.

And then there was Code Veronica X wich i've been replaying recently, and that damn fight in the cargo bay of the plane with that Tyrant wannabe where you have to hit him with the massive metal crate by launching it across the hold but you always made sure he was lined up and then ran to the consol to release the crate, but by the time you get there the bastard had moved. GRRRRRRRRR, can't believe how annoyed about it i'm getting just by typing this.

COD4 i spent ages and ages on this one bit on the countdown mission, the second checkpoint. where you go down a flight of stairs and i branches out left right and straight ahead. i could NOT get past those fuckers. finally managed it after much anger and hatred. then later at my friends, after i big up this stupidly difficult section, and then absolutely walked it. i was so annoyed.

Same exact problem here.

The Sentinal wall level in Halo 2 was pretty frustrating. I was always getting lost, then when I'd finally say "yes, this looks familiar I'm goin the right way now. Wait... aren't there a lot of-" and then I get killed because yes, there are a lot of flood here.

I'm playing through The Force Unleashed right now. After several days of frustration of trying to figure out the obtuse puzzles on Raxxus Prime's "outside" part, I have finally gotten inside. I had managed to get inside the room where the big mechanical stalagtite looking thing is hanging from the ceiling. After pummeling that jet engine looking thing with debris, lightning, force push, lightsaber, everything I could think of I was almost ready to give up for the day and play something less frustrating like Oblivion where I could walk just about anywhere I wanted to and bash some creature's brains in just because it dared to come towards me; I somehow zapped the engine thing with just the right ammount of force lightning at the right second and it ignited. This is about the third or fourth time I have run into a "puzzle" in Force Unleashed where I try in vain to beat it then finally beat it by accident. Then, this big robot (or droid for hard core Star Wars fans), comes up out of the junk and commences to pummel me. That is where I thought "Noooo not now!" like you said in your first post because I was so tired of zapping and throwing and trying to get something to happen that I wasn't ready for a boss fight right then.

Once again, I accidently figure out how to beat him by accidently hitting the stalagtite thing with force lightning when I thought I was hitting the droid. The lightning paralyzes the droid and I can hit him. Just about evey boss so far in Force Unleashed has been frustrating because you have to hit those combos just right before the boss kills you. At least this game has lots of checkpoints. If I had to go back to the start of each level when I died, I might just give up on this game.

It's a really good game for the most part, but it could really use a way to target stuff without having to move Starkiller's feet all the time to make him face a slightly different way. Maybe they could have had you hold down the shoulder button like you did in Metroid Prime for Gamecube or something. For that matter, the targeting in Lego Batman for the batarang works much better than the auto targeting in this game.

Theres a section in Earth-Worm Jim (which I played agian recently) where you drive this sort of bubble submarine, and you drive fast as you can though this very, VERY thin twisting tunnels which you've got to get though in about 2 minites without breaking the glass by hitting the sides...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

NO!!! NO!!! This is not fun! NOOOOO! When you can see the end after doing it 50 times and you tap the roof and the glass shatters...Its keyboard smashingly fustrating

That fricken Laser Beam boss in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Flying Fortress level always pounded my ass. Everything before and after was a cinch for me but that one boss drove me crazy.

That one part in Call of Duty 4 where you're waiting for the helicopter to pick you and Captain MacMillan up. It's easy on regular... but on veteran? I spent a good three hours on that one damn level...

...but then I discovered that if I snuck around to one of the apartment buildings where the enemies were spawning I could just sit there and nobody (except the odd soldier or two) would come. Seriously. I just hid there for the entire time and everything went fine.

Just tonight I was raping in GTA4, sniping off a roof. After doing this for a while, I jogged over to the other side of the roof to get some people that started spawning over there. So anyway I tried to stop but I was going so fast that my momentum took me like 1 step more and I fell 6 stories and lost $100. I needed that $100.

Recently, The Force Unleashed on Sith Master difficulty, and even on Sith Lord difficulty. So many moments where I couldn't even stand up because I was hit with a rocket or something of that sort, and then getting hit again by a another guy before I could stand, This happened a lot when I had to fight 3 purge troopers at once, I couldn't even begin to stand let alone fight.
EDIT: Also, the checkpoints on the higher difficulties on the first playthrough can be very frustrating. There is one point where I had to jump down to an area, Kill 2 AT-ST's at once, Fly up, kill multiple scouts, troopers, and purge troopers. And to top it off fight with 4 of those emperors guards and a dark guard. The last dark guard killed me and I started all the way back before I even got to the 2 AT-ST's. I was pissed.

Also, N for the PC, So many frustrating hours spent on single levels sometimes.

There's a game called Kiss: Psycho Circus. It's a FPS. There are times in that game when literally hundreds of low grade monsters are coming at you at once, mixed in with a few higher up monsters. I always seemed to come to these parts when I was low on life and ammo. GAAAAARRRRR!!!!!!

Dieing in cod4 and respawning directly below an airstrike and dieing again to respawn just in time for the second jet. And again for the third.

Can something be frustrating not because it's hard but because it's badly designed?

If so, then I nominate Halo 1 in which you follow the little blue ball thingy (shows how much of a 'fan' I am eh?) through this area. The flood start pouring out of the walls and what not and everything starts off good and great. I'm getting through it just fine, and then I start noticing something after about the second or third area. They're identical. Each god damn section was identical to the last...and they kept going on...and on...and on...I shut the game off and so began my hatred for halo.

Wow impressive. I was just happy I finished the campaign, then the Expert challenges got unlocked. Still have to finish the last episode of that one I believe.

Still, very proud of myself that I finished the damned campaign :P

Or getting killed by a helicopter just as you was about to get into cover only to respawn outside and get killed by the chopper again

I feel ya. Even though I treat BF2 like a god and make sacrifices to it daily, when I'm in the interior of the death Star I'll spawn, take 5 steps BLAM, dead, respawn at a different location, find it swarmed with the enemy, BLAM dead. GRRR!!!

CoD4 Multiplayer. I was the last guy on my team with the bomb ticking down for the win on Search and Destroy. While watching the bomb the last guy on the other team runs over and begins defusing in plain sight. Just as I set up the perfect head shot my controller craps out... Damn batteries.

Fighting the dragons in Baldur's Gate II drove me insane. I eventually fastened on a strategy that involved Feeblemind, which would prevent the dragon from doing anything provided it failed the saving throw (not often). There was an amusing moment, however, when one of my wizards spontaneously Disintegrated the dragon in the second round of combat, leaving me staring open-mouthed in shock.

That and finding some godawful "Immune to Physical Stoneskin Lightning Enchanted Multishot" boss in Diablo II was enough to make me restart my game. You just have to acknowledge that you are NEVER killing that sucker.

The second chariot race in Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones followed by the Twins fight inspired some truly amazing profanity, as well. I don't break things, but I certainly cuss.

Any time Final Fantasy Tactics refuses to make my buffs work because I don't have the time to grind up my units' Faith levels.
