Mirror's Edge has many, many frustrating moments in the game if you can't see / find where or what you need to do next.

Any part of Metal Slug 3 is a frustrating part for me. Especially when I die to something I couldn't see. Yeah, that's a problem in MSX, too, but it's much easier to cope with there.

Mission 21 or 22 in SRWZ

all I know is this, They want me to kill everyone by turn 5 before killing the Dominator

Including and not restricted to

Five Overman King Gainer Boss's (Including one that automatically casts 100% Dodge, 100% hit, and Double Movement, AND GOES AFTER THE ONE ****ING UNIT THAT FAILS THE MISSION IF KILLED)
One Combat Mecha Xabungle Boss (Who you have to kill Twice, one as a battle ship then in his custom Walker Machine)
And about 20 squads of Mooks
And the Dominator? you don't even know the SR Point OBJECTIVE until turn 3! so if you have been dicking around strategically prepare to replay the damn stage!

I finally got past the buggery stage by loading every squad into the Freedan (From Gundam X), then Bum Rushing (Or Zerg Rushing) one of the Overman bosses before his Buffs kicked in.

THEN if you survived that without losing anyone, SHADOW ANGELS from Aquarion appear.

and your Reinforcements? Getter Robo G... right I much prefer Aquarion because at least Apollo can punch shit from 14 squares away.

This is not even the standard difficulty from now on, this is like a gigantic wall and the other side is pastures to!

Did I mention that two of the Overman bosses have BARRIERS and they are in a specific formation as to reduce ALL attack damage.

Also that Timp (From Combat Mecha Xabungle)in his Emperor Kai battleship is going to try to kill you.

And everyone is gunning for Gainer, because as luck has it, his squad is the insta-fail squad, and although he is an AWESOME unit the bossthat has Double Move and 100% hit WILL aim for him. (Let me be clear, double move basically means two turns, so just in case you survived the first attack, and he will hit you twice. you will be killed by the second attack. although you COULD hide him in the ship, but then you can't kill all of the enemy in time)

Also Banpresto made the DICK move of making evasion decrease every attack as to increase difficulty, so even Dodge Maniacs like Gainer, Kei from Orguss, Eureka from Eureka 7 and your Plethora of Gundams, will be getting killed by nameless mooks who just SWARM you.

also by mid game Renton's face will be HEAVILY plastered onto the leader board (with about a 400 Kill lead)

It didn't happen in game, but I had one stroke of bad luck that made me cry. I backed up every single saved game on a external HD. which proceeded to break the next day.

O...M...G #cries#

Back on topic though. I think it was the second boss of the Thing (the one where your in a cargo bay behind crates and have to run across the room to electrify it and then kill it) that just made me cry and strop playing the game in disgust. I just could not beat it for the life of me.

Rockband endless setlist: Drums broke halfway though the last song.

Fire emblem: Getting hit at the worst time by someone who has a 10% hit chance or when your characters suddenly decide that dodging/hitting is 'not something that the cool kids do'

COD4 i spent ages and ages on this one bit on the countdown mission, the second checkpoint. where you go down a flight of stairs and i branches out left right and straight ahead. i could NOT get past those fuckers. finally managed it after much anger and hatred. then later at my friends, after i big up this stupidly difficult section, and then absolutely walked it. i was so annoyed.

Same exact problem here.

I played through Call of Duty 4 the first time on Hardest. I've never sworn so much at a game in my entire life. Basically 2 shots to dead. The countdown mission, i'm assuming is either the final or the one where you get picked up by the helo? The sniper mission as well, damn. I know people who have claymored the back on normal and hid in the ferris wheel gunning whatever gets close! Game is mental at times!

If it's the Helo one, i successfully achieved a Monty Python-esque sprint down the mountain. After the fourth time i'd gotten to somewhere i deemed safe and to have basically every direction spattered with grenades wasn't fun.

Played it through on normal recently. That was shockingly easy

I accidently deleted all my GTAIV save files on my PS3. I was still used to using the Metal gear Solid controls ( X = O, O = X ). I'm still pissed off about that

Every boss fight in Lost Odyssey for me :)

Fuckin seconded here, man. And I didnt even get off the first disk...

I never got off the first real boss which was that huge bird. A game stops being fun when it is too difficult.

Yeah, I had to get my brother to help me through that guy. It's an alright game too, and I like the story and character but I just can't wade through all those ass-rapist bosses to get to it.

Mercenaries 2. I'm doing the mission to recruit Ewen the helicopter pilot. The chopper is at very low health, I am about 10 feet from the end of the mission, and I hear the "SSSSSHHHHHHH" of an RPG round flying through the air, and I crash.
That really pissed me off.

In any DKC game when you'd see that life-affirming red arrow, only to be killed by the last mega-obstacle. I swear Rare's design team for those games was made of mostly evil geniuses.

Trying to defend the wookiee oil refinery in Star Wars Battlefront II was hell. Each time I've succeeded that mission was after about a dozen different fails. It is retarded how long that lasts.

Re: chain of memories - Hades, Hook and Vexen are horribly frustrating and should die in a fire or bucket of water in Hades' case. D< Nearly broke my controller in all three of those fights. I still haven't gotten past Vexen, stupid cheating card breaking GOOBER.

A couple of times in Star Wars Force Unleashed.....(has anyone created a Most Overhyped Game thread? I'm gonna have to check on that). My first one was on the planet Raxus Prime. I found the holocron that gave me the cool Sith robes and went forward and played the rest of the level with them on. Well after completing the level, and the awesome game giving me the cutscene in the game's wardrobe I went to the next level...and the robes were no where to be found in my options. Making me have to go back through the friggin level and acquire them again.

The second time, same damn level, I was apparently beating the boss Kazdan Paratus too fast and it glitched when I force pushed him over a ledge. It did this to me three times. Finally after my brain hemorrhage settled down I ALLOWED him to put the smack down on me enough for the damn end scene to initiate. That game made me hate life and want to punch babies. That's just the most recent game to make me want to climb a watchtower. I know there's been more in my gaming life, though...

There is this one quest in Fallout 3 where you have to deliver a message to some chick's family. Well, you have to find this city, and turns out her family is dead. Then you have to go find their son who was kidnapped. You go into this place that's got raiders and radscorpions. You know the drill... go into the place, kill the raiders, take their clothes, find whatever you're looking for. Well, what happened was I killed all the raiders, and then found a room with a lock on it. I couldn't pick it and had to find a key. I walked around the place for 20 minutes and couldn't find a key, or anything left alive. I decided to teleport to megaton and do the quest later, but guess what? You can't teleport from where I was! So I had to find a way out, and it was like trying to find your way out of a hall of mirrors. So I ended up walking in circles for 30 minutes until I turned off the game.

(BTW if anyone knows how to do that quest, message me)

There is always one boss fight in every Final Fantasy game that I get stuck on for days.

The most frustrating on for me was in Final Fantasy X, and the boss fight was lady Lady Yunalesca, and the most frustrating part of the whole thing was it was not that I didn't have the power necessary to beat here, it was that I was just in a poor situation.

There was a large amount of battles prior to the throw down with Yunalesca, and most of my heavy hitters were really weakened and on top of that I didn't have a decent supply of aids.

So for the next hellish two weeks I just kept playing the boss fight over and over and over and over again until I beat here.

Absolutely ridiculous.

The last level of Abe's Exodus. I genuinely couldn't complete it... until 2 months ago. YES! Now all I have to do is go to Japan and punch God and I shall be whole.

HOLY SHIT. No game has ever pissed me off more than True Crime: Streets of LA. There is a boss fight near the end that I never got past. Fucker was practically indestructible, and every kick he landed sent me flying into the flames surrounding the area. God-modeing, meet video games.

The license test in the Gran Turismos.
Everyone in my house knows when I'm doing them because of the endless stream of profanity. I usually end up smashing a controller.

This is to get the Gold by the way

Emperor Inferno:
Okay, this is not like those two threads that are basically the same about funny kills or deaths. It can be funny, but it doesn't have to be. This is about parts or levels of games that just piss you off, or some time when it just didn't go your way. maybe you accidentally stirred up a shit storm just when you didn't need it, or maybe a level, boss, or even a multiplayer deathmatch or something in a game that despite your best efforts just kicks your ass. Any time you've had bad luck, or a game just pissed you off to no end. Maybe you're playing and you've just - almost - got it- and then bam! dead, just before you manage to succeed.

Here's one of mine: I was playing KOTOR and I was in the sith facility on that watery planet (the one with the firaxan sharks). Not the one that was under the water, but the Sith headquarters on that planet. Anyways, it was that one room full of Sith troopers with a couple Dark Jedi and a Sith captain. I tell ya, that one just kept on gettin me. The thing is, I had played through KOTOR before and until this time had not trouble with this part. I kept getting stuck in Force Whirlwind by one of the Dark Jedi, while everyone else shot me or killed my party members. I broke the controller I was using, I threw it so many times. I propbably died more than six times in that room alone.

The planet is called Manaan

I was crawlgrinding through the second dungeon of Persona 4 last night and it seriously grinded my shit. A few things have been annoying me about the game since I finally got past the three-hour long intro. The fact that enemies can notice you WHILE you're behind them is a load of bull. I can understand when their bodies are slightly turned or you're approaching off the side but directly behind them? This is important because to get first strike on your enemy, you have to hit them directly from behind and if you swing too late, you enter the battle handicapped enough to give your enemies an advantage even when they don't get the first strike. Speaking of first strikes, telling the distance between you and an enemy is also a pain is the balls thanks to a grossly unwieldy camera that took one too many steps backwards from Persona 3 and ended up jumping off a cliff and into Shit Central. It's impossible to tell exactly how far apart you are from a Shadow and if you swing to early or too late then they'll get the chance to move before you.

Well, something like that happened to me last night but while I could have defeated the enemy with relative ease had I swung at the right time, this enemy happened to be able to inflict the Fear condition. Combined with the fact that they summoned a creature who could One-Hit Kill anyone afflicted with Fear and had no weaknesses made them borderline broken. So, the moment of "jacked-up" happened something like this:

-Enemy uses Evil Smile
-Teammates are afflicted with Fear
-Enemy summons One-Hit Kill monster
-OHK monster uses Ghastly Wail
-It's a One-Hit Knock Out!
-Fission Mailed. Try again?

And this was only in the second dungeon! I'd hate to think what the later dungeons are like!

Take any given FPS. Probably lean more toward the CoDs and CSs, ones that have less health/more weapon damage. Imagine getting the drop on your mates in DM or TDM, hitting them anywhere between 3-5 times, and having them turn around and kill you in 1 shot. Happens to me constantly, so much so that nowadays I expect it.

One that was prevalent in CoD2 was the damnable 95d. I'd line up a shot with a boltie (particularly at close range)....'aiming, aiming, fire! Oooh bur.....what 95d!?' and then proceed to be pistol whipped whilst chambering a new round.

Oh, an old CS one. We were playing 2v2 a LAN on one of the rats maps back in the day, and it was down to me (terrorist) and my buddy, I'm outta ammo bar my pistol. I manage to avoid him, sneak up behind him, point the pistol at the base of his skull, so that there could be nothing but an insta-kill headshot, and guess what happens? That's right, not a headshot. I get filled with lead and lose the round.

I don't know why I play FPSs, they seem to hate me for some reason.

For me... it was the Shrek game for the GameCube.
The Ice Queen boss fight was so bullshitty, and the AI cheated to boot...

I hurled my controller at a wall so hard the left trigger broke.

The second incident was in CoD4, I was going for the finish a match without dying.
2 seconds... TWO FUCKMOTHERING SECONDS!!! from the end, some cunt randomly tossed his grenade and it landed at my feet...

In Shenmue anytime you'd be in a fight, and Ryo would end up facing the other way and spend five minutes getting kicked in the ass until he passed out. A terrible game, but I still love it for some unknown reason.

Is there a thread for brilliant luck in games? I have a couple of good ones.

The second level of Metal Slug 3, the one where you first encounter the zombies. I love the game more than life itself and while i love it i also hate it. I like to bash out really high scores so i would fly through the first level and rescue all the hostages and keep the slug intact and get the "super ultra uber mega bonus". The second level was easy up until the last boss where i would always get to almost the last shot on the boss where i would be killed by a bloody falling pillar o' death. ARRRRGHH! I can feel the rage build up inside as i speak. So many broken controllers, so many sore knuckles. Oh how i look back and laugh at my near adolescent rage!

Missing 3 95% chance headshots on the V.A.T.s in Fallout 3 and then getting ripped to shreds by a Deathclaw, who had 1 freakin' life left.

And he killed my dog.

"Nobody saw me get here, in a sec, I'll pop up and..."
*Sound of 4 to 6 grenades landing within 2 feet of me*

Fallout 3 [Possibe spoiler ahead. I couldnt understand how to makene of those spoiler-things, please tell me how]

The part with the gigantic robot near the end of the main story. It got stuck on the bridge just outsde it's "launching spot". "Ok", I thought, "I'll just use TCL on it" (Thats the cheat for no collision, if you didn't know that). ...It fell though the bridge, and never reapeared. I reloaded. Alot. The robot never returned. I made a new character.

Sorry about any potential Misspellings and other screwups

My most recent one, the stupid meteor shooting bit in Dead Space. I keep telling myself that it wasn't really that hard, but I wanted to break the Xbox nonetheless. I'm dreading that part on my next playthrough.
