Gone Gonzo Posts: 2943 Joined: 10 Mar 2008 | Actually, I've seen many people who prefer the 360 controller to the PS controller. I however prefer the PS controllers any day. The 360 controller feels so bulky and the placements of the analog sticks make my left had slide upwards during tension. Plus, the battery pack in the middle is extremely annoying as it cramps my fingers. But that's personal preference. |

Though the white tends to show dirt, especially when I'm playing a lot and my hands get sweaty and it leaves lines of dirt from my hand around it. And some of my buttons squeak on one of them, but I don't think those count. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 485 Joined: 22 Aug 2008 | i agree that I'm not a big fan of the L2/R2 buttons on the PS3 either. But I just don't like the Xbox controller at all. I mean its clunky, the top shoulder buttons are almost none existant if you've never held one before, and the weird way the analog sticks are..It just doesn't feel natural in any shape or form. This is just my opinion. I have both systems btw, so don't go yiffin' about fanboyism. EDIT: And i dunno about the texture of the Xbox controller, compared to the PS controller. The Xbox just feels cheap and I could crack it if i gripped it too hard. I had this feeling too with the PS1 controller until they added the analog sticks. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1169 Joined: 21 May 2008 | Yeah, the only problems anyone seems to have with is are 'big battery pack' which can be solved with a wired controler (why do we all of a sudden need a wireless one anyway?) and 'it's too bulky/heavy' which is only used because everyone got used to the PS2 controler that weighed nothing, ahhh fond memories. EDIT:The D-pad is messed up but no-one ever uses that. Do they? |
Copy Clerk Posts: 98 Joined: 27 Apr 2008 | The original Xbox pads were terrible compared to the PS2 pad, maybe that's what people are referring to? The 360 ones are fine though, I couldn't honestly say I've got a preference between PS2 and 360, aside from the fact that I still think in X, triangle, circle and square. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 120 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | I very rarely hear anyone complain about it. The only thing Ive heard (and I agree with), is that the d-pad is shit. |

Yeah, can't play fighting games on it but I really like the solid feel of it compared to the SIXAXIS. The Dualshock 3 comes close but not quite, though it's the only controller outside of an arcade stick that you should play fighting games with. |

I've honestly heard more people say they prefer the 360 controller. Personally, I like the L/R buttons much more in 360 than PS. Otherwise, I prefer PS out of nostalgia? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2034 Joined: 16 May 2008 | the 360 controller is great. most people I see complain about the OLD Xbox controller, especially the REALLY old one. and it's usually just because they were almost as big as a gamecube. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1724 Joined: 13 Sep 2007 | That's ancient, it was the giant original xbox controllers they complained about. |

I hate the D-Pad in all it's forms, even in the PS and old Nintendo models. I'm glad they relegated it to the place it is in the 360. The PS controllers take up too much valuable thumb real estate with the D-Pad. That's prime thumb real estate, and microsoft knew it, so they switched the D-Pad and Analog stick, and Ta da, great justice. |

In fact, I'm guessing one of your friends talks about how everyone hates the xbox controller so you thought you'd start your verifying research here. I, for one, hate that. |

I feel the other way, to me the lightness of the ps3 controller(at least the sixaxis, havent tried the dualshock) makes it feel flimsy, like i could crack it in half if i really tried, while the 360 controller has some heft, also, the ps3 controller makes my hands feel cramped, but the 360 seems to fit my hand perfectly, but i digress, i dont really feel badly about either. |

Paperboy Posts: 14 Joined: 3 Oct 2008 | I think that tge 360 controller is pretty much spot on like, yeah the d-pad is crap but the ps3 conrtroller feels to light and flimsy. I get really sweaty hands off the wii controller aswell... |

If you're playing a Wii you should be getting sweaty, if you aren't then you're not doing it right. I don't really have a preference controller-wise, I find I can adapt pretty quickly. Especially when you consider most games use the same buttons regardless of console. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 112 Joined: 19 Sep 2008 | Am I the only one that prefers the Gamecube controller over current gen controls? Just fits much nicer in my hands. 360 controllers I can cope with tho, as most buttons are more or less the same place as the GC one, but its that bit bigger and the sholders are more "trigger" in shape. PS2 Dualshock however... eh, hate them, I feel my thumbs screaming in pain trying to bend to use the analogue stick while still being able to use the sholder buttons effectively. Why they still have the D-Pad in primary location is beyond me. Nintendo had the analogue as prime with the n64, and MS were smart enough to notice that and do that with their first controller also. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 401 Joined: 21 Aug 2008 | It really depends on the game for me. For games that are physics intensive, or what I consider "weighty," I actually prefer that the controller is larger. Makes me feel like I have a greater grasp on what I'm doing. The principal is the same with first person shooters. With lighter games, though, like fighting games, I'd much prefer to use a PS3 controller. Like many before me have said, the D-Pad just isn't right. |

This. On Microsofts own admission, they product-tested the size of the original controllers primarily on people who were built large (basketball players and the like) instead of the average human being. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 98 Joined: 6 Sep 2008 | I much prefer a 360 controller-it seems to sit nicer in my hand, the analoue sticks are nicely placed and the finger buttons are the right size and shape for comfortable long term play. But I've always had an xbox, so I think in A, X, Y and B- which confuses my freind when I play on his ps3. Hehe. Plus the PS3 controller seems so light that I could snap it if I got too viguorus. Also, PS3 iz teh suckz because it haz no rumble loz. In case you were wondering, that was sarcasm. Though rumble in COD4 is niiiice. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1050 Joined: 7 Nov 2007 | Personally, I love the 360 controller, and the wii one for that matter. Me and PS3 controllers don't get on. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 557 Joined: 3 Sep 2008 | The old xbox controllers were a pile of steaming turd. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 385 Joined: 8 Apr 2008 | I prefer where the analog sticks are on the 360, it's just like the Gamecube one, so I adapted |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1205 Joined: 23 Oct 2007 | Anybody who complains about the Xbox 360 controller has obviously never held a Sega Mega Drive controller. Now, that was a controller that was uncomfortable. Still prefer keyboard and mouse, except when it comes to driving games, where I show an obvious preference to my force-feedback steering wheel, and flying games, where my joystick is king. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1366 Joined: 5 May 2008 | I much prefer the 360 controller to the PS3 controller. It seems to fit in my hands better and I prefer the offset analog sticks to the side by side ones. I've never really had any problems with the D-Pad at all. The PS3 controller is fine, but it's less comfortable, I hate how sensitive the R2 and L2 buttons are (I'll be trying to aim carefully at someone and the gun randomly shoots, alerting the enemy to my presence so I can't pick him off from afar. Leaving me confused for a moment before I realized my finger lightly touched it.) and I don't like the Sixxaxis very much at all. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 7 Joined: 10 Jul 2008 | the PS controller is just to light for me but the sticks are symetrical and using my 360 controller tends to give my hands a cramp but shoulder buttons are better than the PSs so either way i could use both. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 68 Joined: 6 Aug 2008 | I'll take the PS2 controller over the Xbox controller every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I just like the way it feels, the XBox controller seems like it was made for gorilla hands. I have above-average sized hands (I can palm a basketball no problem, and could since I was about 15) and I still find it hard to reach all the buttons. I also like the R2/L2 buttons rather than the RT/LT trigger buttons. The way they press just feels better, imo. |

Why do people on the internet seem to hate the Xbox 360 controller so much, I find it fits naturally to my hand compared to say the PS one, which is fine, though little too small, and I dont like how the R2/L2 buttons press for the PS3 one.
