What's the most anti social thing you've done? Gaming related.

For me it was a couple years ago, and I had just got Grandia 3 for my PS2. That afternoon my dad was planning a party, with a few friends invited.

Well instead of being apart of the party, I locked myself in my room, and played the game. Now that I look back on it, it embarrasses me. God knows what everyone must have been thinking...

I play MMOs.

Edit: In case this is ban fodder, and I hope it's not, I should specify...

That's plural.

when i first got zelda windwaker i was smoking a lot of weed. so it took forever to beat that game cause that dragon on the boat was trippy. but i don't think i left my room for two days except for bathroom breaks, didn't sleep or eat. now i'm 5 years older and a little bit smarter than that.

my entire life is an anti-social moment, give me a TV, a console, and some games and I can live alone for the rest of my life.

When I got Final Fantasy VII in Middle school. My friends would call and I'd tell them I was busy. If it hadn't been for school the Monday after I got it, I never would have left my room but to eat or go to the bathroom.

The day my brother died I sat in my room playing SOCOM online 'cause I hate being around crying people. He died in our house.

Mine would have ot bearound the time I was playing through some JRPG, forget now, but I had locked and baracaded my door. dresser, filled with clothes and by bed behind it leaving about a footof room if the door had been opened, it would have only givin about a foot to get through. I still dont remember how I managed to move all of it.

But I had my door liek that for about two days I snuck out my window to get foor and use the restroom at my neiborghs. uhh, but I came home one time and it was fixed.

I once turned down a date because i was doing a raid that night.

I quit WoW when someone pointed out to me what i had done... My mind had prioritized WoW over the pleasurable company of women.

That, i think, wins this thread.

You actually made the right decision.

You'll see...

At LAN parties I'll sometimes just play single player games. I'm sick of playing CoD4!

When I got Knights of the Old Republic, I moved my xbox to my room and stayed home for the first two days of a school week playing it. After three days, I had played about 35 hours and only left to eat and use the bathroom.

My brother, his 3 friends, and I went to this arcade with console and PC games. Nearly everyone there were playing multi-player games (both local and online) and I just sat there playing single player games.

I've totally skipped seeing friends or even talking to them on the phone to play games before - too many times to count, really. I have one friend who, whenever he comes over to my house, just plays the newest game I have for hours on end while I sit around doing nothing. I've actually lied about not buying new games before just because I don't want that to happen.

When I was playing Monster Hunter Freedom 2 I used to pack my PSP with me whenever I went to friends parties, family gatherings or even out to a nightclub and shortly after arriving neglect everyone to go find a dark corner to continue monster hunting to max out my tree of Hunting Horns, assemble a full collection of every armor set, every Village and Offline Hunters Guild quests.

I stopped playing when I realised I had clocked up over 300 hours of gameplay.

ULTRAJOE wins at everything

Mine would probably have to be the first week I got GTA IV, I stayed in my room and took no calls, I didn't eat for the first 2 days and only got up to go to the bathroom when I was about to explode, my friends told me I looked about 10 pounds heavier and white as paper.

I had a few mates round the other day. Well, one mate and a hot girl. So what do I do? I'm bored so I pick up my 360 controller and completey ignore them. Sam askes if I've got any good multiplayer games. "Nah, don't worry" I say "This is fine." They leave 3 minites later.

I first got Fable on a Friday afternoon on the way home from school. My friend was having a get together that night, and Saturday night was another friend's birthday party. I turned my phone off and didn't leave the house all weekend.

But aside from that the one that takes the cake is similar to Ultra Joe's. It wasn't a date though, it was a party my friends and I had been planning to go to for weeks, and it wasn't a raid, it was just a group of five of us from my guild doing Uldaman. Sad, I know. I quit WoW a few short levels later (Level 46 to be exact).

I dream of being a socially reclusive gamer, and one of the "things I want to do when I grow up" is build a gaming room that could shame the ancient Egyptians. The limited dreams I have about my children is teaching them to become total nerds and become my gaming companions, all while my wife goes grocery shopping for twenty or thirty years.

The fact that that is one my ultimate goals in life shames even me.

When I first got my Wii with SSBB, SMG, and Twilight Princess, I ignored my girlfriend for about a week, the fact that we're still together speaks a lot about how perfect we are for each other.

I killed one of my team mates on Battlefront II because he killed my friend whom I was dog-fighting with.

I was in a TIE Interceptor, he was in an X-Wing. This guy comes out of nowhere and kills my friend. Fourth or fifth time he stole my kill. I unloaded my weapons into his TIE Fighter. We both laughed so hard at the guy when I did it.

I'm pretty sure I can beat you on that one. I didn't do it, but it sure as hell happened to me.

But uhh... I'd have to say...
this is actually kinda embarrassing... because it's not really a regular game.
Hexic. I came home from work really late and my husband wanted to "go to bed" and I said "ok let me just finish this game of Hexic real fast" so he went to bed thinking that I would go in a few minutes.
When I went to go check up on him he was dead asleep and I realized that it was 3am!

I didn't go to my high school prom in favour to play FFXI (that's the MMO one).
To play FFXI with the person I was seeing who didn't go to my school.
And I was bullied a bit in high school.
And they made us pay a ridiculous amount for it.
And I got some.
Retrospectively, I think I made the right decision, but people tell me it's a bit lame.

Not me, but my brother and I were playing Age of Empires across our LAN, years ago when we first set it up. Actually, my friend was round and he was playing my brother. Now my brother borders on having the OC disorder, and likes to build his base up and advance very precisely before going to war. Therefore, I directed my friend to build 3 clubmen, and destroy his base. And he did. My brother stormed into my room, shouted 'YOU'RE NOT PLAYING IT RIGHT!!' and punched, literally punched, my friend. I laughed so hard.

That sucks, but I don't think playing SOCOM was such a horrible thing to do. I wouldn't want to be sitting around crying with people either, that would just make me feel worse. It's perfectly understandable to go play videogames and escape.
