Hi The Half-Life Series is my favorite series of games and i just wanted to know. What do you think of the series.

My favorite part of the series has always been the G-Man. I like the way he talks.

My thoughts are as follows:
- The gravgun isn't nearly as useful as it should be. There isn't enough crap to pick up.
- Enemy AI needs work, but is decent. They tend to charge into my shotgun blasts. I like their grenade use.
- The Gman is cool.
- Alyx is hot.
- WTF happened to Barney?
- The revolver is very satisfying.

That is my opinion of the Half Life series.

The cake is delicious.

I don't particularly find the series that outstanding. It's average.

well... i havent played much games these years but half life 2 was wel designed, the characters looks realistic.

I find it much above average. Combat is simple but pleasant, level design is alternatively confusing and amazing, story is great despite the protagonist's utter lack of character development, enemies are interesting, vehicles aren't pains in the ass. Good but definitely not "the best game of all time" (remember the Orange Box commercials? The ad is a lie!).

I prefer Halo or Metriod Prime but Half-Life is definitely among my series.

Valve tell me where Barney Calhoun went!

It's one of my top ten games* and I think the entire game comunity is beter off because its around.

* Answering the qusetion of "which HL game?", all of them.

Gravity gun is agreed.
I think the enemy AI is very intelligent considering most other games. But improvements can always be made.
The G-Man is veerry inteerresssting (sounded funnier in my head).
Alyx is an excellent character.
Barney is working for the Combine Police Force iirc. But as a sort of mole for the Resistance.
The revolver rocks.

The cake is a buy.

Um, yeah, its all good. Play the first game with Aenima by Tool in for your background music, it sinks up pretty well, I thought.

Personally compared to other games out the Half life series is a breath of fresh air to the stagnant clones of games out there. I don't really see many people trying to imitate it unlike every company trying to rip off Halo, which is quite inferior compared to Half life. So what if Valve take ages to make something, they quality and design of the games are awesome to worry about. it took my about 2 weeks to finish Half Life 2, compared to Halo 3 which took me a few days on legendary. Half Life reminded me of the original Super Mario games of the late 80's, I hope then the series will continue for several years and maybe unlike the mario games they will not pretty much make the same games over and over again,

I liked the series but there's just one question thats been bothering me, why are the vortiguants your allies in the second game, but in the first game they were thirsting after my blood.

Simple. Didn't like it. Played it and wondered,"why did I just waste my time with this?".

Half Life looks fun but I really want to play TF2 cause it looks like the first game with a decent spy class

Eh, I thought it was okay. It's not like I have anything bad to say about it or anything, it just never really hooked me. I prefer Halo.

Gordan has a lack of character development because they want the gamer to feel more like they ARE Gordan rather than PLAYING Gordan, Capish? - And only Valve could pull that off imo.

The games are amazing, the original was an instant classic and what has come since has been just as good. The Gravity Gun, what an amazing idea? And not enough stuff to throw about? There was plenty!

The whole series is amazing, its like a film/television show with all the cliffhangers and original ideas.(Episode 2 ending anyone?? omg!!)

*quick edit* Oh the stuff I REALLY liked... Gravity Gun, G-Man (who the hell is he and what does he want??) and headcrabs :) Oh! and running zombies! damn... scary running zombies >_<

Best Video Game (Series) Ever.

Fantabulous. I love tossing heavy objects around, immersive plots, well written characters, zombies, and toppling oppressive alien governments.

Half Life 2 has all of these.

As for the first one, well... it was kind of the last hurrah for old-school shooters, with the button-pushing, jump-timing puzzles, absurd amounts of ammo, fast combat, boss fights, and the ever-popular "go 50 miles out of your way to advance through a locked door" scenarios. It did almost everything right, too.

Yeah, they were being mind-controlled by Nihilanth on Xen.

Fantastic game series. Half-Life 1 was a real innovation in videogames and brought about both Team Fortress and Counterstrike from it's versatility. The next generation of the series is not as revolutionary but Valve still does Half-Life better than most other devs do their games so I'm still happy. We got Portal out of the deal too.

It was alright. Only the story line interested me, the rest wasn't that amazing.

I jumped in at half-life 2 and kept waiting for some kind of explanation. Am I in an alternate timeline? where did the head crabs come from? since when does earth have burrowing ant-lions (awesome as they are)? and most of all, WTF!?
I never really understood what was going on, and since there were 2 types of combine and the stupid headcrabs pissed me off, I feel like I was just an outsider looking in. Also, I got to the end, but couldnt for the life of me stop that damn elevator. maybe I just dont have a big enough brain, but half the time i got lost and just stumbled along. I also found the shooting to be average at best and I just never liked it.
Im just not a computer gamer i guess...
