At TGS Namco Bandai has announced that Tekken 6 will launch Fall 09 for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Bit of a mis-leading title there?

Haha. I wonder how many rabid fanboys that stirred up!

Good news, now the game can be enjoyed by more people.
But it is indeed bound to piss PS3 fanboys off, like the FFXIII announcement.

I hope more games lose thier exclusitivity. Especially since i did not care about Tekken for the last 10 years or so.

Wait, what? I got an email from Sony just yesterday that said it's NOT coming to Ps3. Which would make it a 360 exclusive, now.

However Bloodline Rebellion is, but that's a different game.

curse him he's indoctrinating us.

ps. If i didn't already comment on this thread then i'll say again: it's smart not to get attached to games in this sense - i.e. exclusive to consoles, loyal to consoles - because to be honest game companies will only keep a game exclusive to one console until they think that loyal fans will get them less money than just spraying the game on the giant wall of nonexclusive gamers. ... dig it?

Personally, I'm kind of glad... I used to play Tekken on Playstation and PS2, but since I decided not to shell out the cash for a PS3, and rather pay for the online of the 360, I have missed some of my old PS game franchises... Now all I can hope is that they do the same for Twisted Metal.

Bloodline Rebellion is just Tekken 6 with extras according to that link.

Yup, 2 new characters, a new stage or two and some moves get property changes. For someone who isn't really immersed in their fighting games, T6 and T6BR are the exact same game.

With that being in mind, I don't believe for a second that the version of Tekken 6 on the 360 will be any different from the PS3 version. It makes no sense from any standpoint.

It does from the standpoint of throwing the loyal playstation fans a bone.

Sounds kind of like Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection same game as Tekken 5 just with a few more bits. At first I was annoyed by this but now see it as an chance for me and a certain friend to do battle till the end of time on both consoles.

My only problem with this is the possibility of the ps3 version being a 360 port. That would suck, and then suck some more. I'd like some games on the ps3 that look and feel like they were meant to be there.

Oh well, I have Metal Gear, my ps3 serves its purpose. And I can keep playing boudokai3 if tekken sucks like the 4th one did. Can't really surpass dark resurrection anyway

This is great news for me. I always loved Tekken, though sadly, no playstation for me to play it. Besides, sharing is fun.

I might actually look into this now. Only Tekken I've played is TTT, but if it's on the 360...

I wonder if they will finally make a good Tekken game. If they do, I'm sure it will be by accident.

This screams fanboy so loudly my ears hurt.

First off, Tekken games have always been fun. You may not like them, but they've provided hours upon hours of entertainment for more people that can be counted. But secondly, to admit that even if you enjoyed a game, you'd still not give credit where credit is due, is pretty lame on your part.

I've loved Tekken for a long time, I'm excited about the opportunity for it to be on the 360 (and because I refuse to buy a PS3).

FFXIII is coming to 360 too?

Money talks, national pride walks indeed.

How are people gonna play Tekken with the X360 controller's d-pad?

I tried playing a beat-em-up with the analogue stick a while ago and it all ended in tears.

This will not be the case.

The arcade system Tekken 6 runs on is the System 357, which is a juiced up PS3. A home console version of that will be pretty straightforward. It's the 360 version that'll be the port.

How many PS3 players do really care whether their games are on the other console?

I mean, aside from the vocal internet bunch screaming about it. And possibly Sony execs.

I'm now sold on a 360. I am only really missing out on LBP and MGS4. Now all I need is money. Tekken was a fun series I enjoyed playing at my friends houses. I am not a fan of the PlayStation controller but the series itself had some fun modes and interesting characters. With a multi-platform release it reaches the widest audience possible, which can only be a good thing for the developers trying to profit off of their work.

Is this really a big deal?

I mean...does anyone care? It's tekken, not God of War.

Tekken is always in arcades anyway. It's an arcade franchise, not a console one.

I completely forgot about the arcade thing there. So I have nothin to worry about, and can still get it on my ps3 which I prefer to do, then all Is good. Unless it's bad like tekken 4. I hated that game.

There is nothing Fanboy about my dislike of the Tekken franchise. The biggest issue I have with it is the animations are completely unrealistic, even within the realm of the Tekken universe. People rotate perfectly along the Y axis without any bend of the body to account for inertia.

As for it they made a good game, I would completely give them credit. I apologize that you could not recognize sarcasm in my typing. Damn internet.

I was actually going to buy a Ps3 for this game (i've played all of the other Tekkens) but I couldn't be happier to hear this. Sony just keeps getting screwed over though, just as they're about to get a console exclusive, the developers send it to another console.

all i need now is ratchet and clank on my 360 and my life will be complete

I'm really surprised this series is still going at all. It lacks the jovial ridiculousness of Soul Calibur, the technical complexity of VF, and the nostalgic appeal of SF. What am I missing here?

For me, and I'm willing to admit I'm probably just being a crank, the Tekken series begins with Tekken 2 and ends with Tekken 3. Still, I'd be interested to know what continues to make this series appealing three iterations later.

Oh the guy is missing out on a shitload of exclusives. Internutt just listed the ones he cared about. Like how my only interest in a 360 is for Fable 2.

Insomniac's a 2nd party company, unless they disband from Sony I highly doubt you'll ever see that.

But really, like Arab said, is it really a big deal? I didn't even know there was a Tekken being made in genera, and I could care less if it was on the 360.

Yes this got me pissed, i admit I'm a bit of a ps3 fan boy, but now that i think about it i donut really care cause i wouldn't of bought it anyways haha.

I've got VF5 for the 360. Sony can keep Tekken for all I care.

Chickenlittle:

43 to be exact....

Russia208:

I lol'ed and will probably start saying that.
