That's funny, I can feel my respect for him rising quickly. I can not wait for NMH 2. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1195 Joined: 31 Jul 2008 | I haven't even played No More Heroes 1 yet. I suppose it's good news though, seeing as how there's so few games on the Wii to look forward to. Perhaps it will silence the hardcore Nintendo gamers for a bit. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1077 Joined: 26 Apr 2008 | Well the video looks... corny, to say the least. The explosion effect at the end is pretty cheap. What I'm wondering is if this'll be one of those games that's going to need that Motion Plus dohickey. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1426 Joined: 2 Mar 2008 | I can't freakin wait. The first was awesome. The second should be just as awesome. Just streamline the (Apparantly now British) city a bit, and voila! Instant even more awesome. |

I think it was supposed to look corny. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4297 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | So which Violent Wii game will prevail and win Wii GOTY? Madworld NMH2:DS (TANGENT: hey....ya think Ninty would make a NMH for DS?) DE BLOB! (though that's this year, but I think it's an awesome game) |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2108 Joined: 13 Dec 2007 | Dreadful trailer. But then I hated No More Heroes. Just not my style, what with the 'you hit the guy in the chest and then his head explodes with blood and coins' thing going on. |

If not these, then Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop. But my money is on No More Heroes 2. |

There may not be anymore heroes, but, if comic books have taught us anything, there are always more villains. |

Does it really mater? The first game was so full of plot holes and plot devices that this games story can pretty much get away with anything. Edit: Plus beam katanas don't always slice through people. |

Maybe it's a prequal. And look at that picture, did you see anyone actually getting hit by a weapon? It looks like you're a mili second away from seeing it but no, they did not hit each other until that milisecond. |

Muckraker Posts: 289 Joined: 15 Dec 2008 | Don't talk so badly about it, a game is a game and i very well think NMH is the best Wii game i've ever played. It was just a sexy game =3 too tired to post relevant arguments. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3937 Joined: 17 Feb 2008 | Well I for one look forward to Yahtzee reviewing this. |
Muckraker Posts: 289 Joined: 15 Dec 2008 | Thank you =3 atleast someone here is looking forward to something related to the game. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2348 Joined: 5 Nov 2008 | (Spoiler alert.) He only gave the word of Slyvia Crystal that no sequal would exist and she is a con artist thus her word is worthless. I need more games for my Wii and Suda51 needs to pay the bills so I welcome this news. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1656 Joined: 26 Nov 2008 | I love the idea that a sequel would make someone lose respect, I mean really? I know these games are pretty niche and cult-ish, but REALLY? |

What, using them solely for waggle?
It amazes me how overrated NMH is on this forum, presumably since the violence and pomo satire make it seem 'hardcore.' NMH was fine, if not very fleshed out: the map was a joke, the side-missions were repetitive, the graphics were lackluster, and you could finish the whole game in five hours. On this basis, I personally have a hard time comparing it to Super Mario Galaxy: it seems more in-step with Trauma Center or Budokai Tenkaichi 3 in terms of quality.
Whatever criticisms, I'm personally optimistic for NMH2 because I feel like the areas in which the first one could've been improved are obvious enough that Suda51 should be able to deliver a product superior to the original - maybe one of the best Wii games yet. Of course, my expectations can be inverted, too - if Suda51 botches what should be a winning formula, I'll be pretty disappointed, since NMH with higher production values could be a GTA-killer. |

Hey look, someone who understood the game. *thumbs up* |

Now why is that? |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 621 Joined: 21 Aug 2008 | I'm peronally really looking forward to NMH 2, this first one was really good, I thought De Blob was better but I have a soft spot for bright colours. Bring on the violence, who knows, there might be blood this time! |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 706 Joined: 8 Sep 2008 | i had to quit no more heroes halfway through because the grind was just too god damn terrible. the game was really fun though. REALLY fun. i hope that number 2 is all game no grind. and comes with a subtitles only feature so i wont be embarassed by the relentlessly corny... well, everything if someone happens to walk through the room(was a fun part of the game but... makes me play it in my alone-time). |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2586 Joined: 27 Sep 2008 | Considering that I don't like the nintendo franchises, I'm looking forward to another decent game on the Wii. Most of the third party stuff is rather lame. NMH was fun, occasionally witty, and had a style that I liked. It didn't need to make sense. |

Well to counter this argument, it got the job done, no? Well enough to fund a sequel and develop an increasing fan base, even draw the attention of Mr. Croshaw. I'll admit the grind was boring but that's all i saw wrong. Would it make very much sense though to place it in a San Andreas size map with a story that only calls for 11 or 12 people dieing? The map itself served it's purpose, give a setting that suited each individual boss fight. I think it more comical than hardcore though. Though i do think you're correct in your last statement that it can only get better =3 |

A sequal?! I can see my respect for Sua51 draining quickly.
