To save the trouble of everyone informing me im pretty sure or almost absolutely sure its going to be about KOTOR 3(to save those living under water in a safe for the last 10 years (Knights of the Old Republic) but aside that fact what do you think hey will announce in it.(there making it on the 21st of october).

Sounds cool... I know nothing about it, for i only played KOTOR 1 and 2 and never searched info on whether they are making the next one... but wasn't it supposed to be an MMO or something?

gotta agree there. Also, concerning KOTOR 3, I was kinda wondering about the guys under the ocean. When I left them down there in KOTOR 1 and then couldn't go back and get them, I was like, "Hey, somebody's gotta go get those guys."

Depends which way you did it (Dark side or Light). Lightside I assume the people of Manaan pop down when they're disassembling the collection plant which they say they will, and then the scientists are retrieved safely. Can't remember what the Selkath say they're going to do if you go Darkside and blow up the stuff with poison. All I remember is that they get pissed off at you, and I like the Selkath, they've got the weird droopy things on the side of their face which they stroke like the ends of a particularly whimsical moustache.

Bioware licensed the HeroEngine from Simutronics some time ago, and there has been an untitled Star Wars project using said engine in development at Bioware Austin for some time. I get the feeling that is it.

If they're working on a KotOR title and it's an MMO, they won't be simultaneously working on a KotOR 3 singleplayer game. Therefore, the MMO is KotOR 3, whether in name or not, it's the third KotOR game.

Precisely, the game is based in the same universe and time period as the other KoTOR games, but they never said it will be KoTOR 3 online, on the other just because they didn't say it doesn't mean it can't happen, remember final fantasy 11.

Why would they waste time announcing that when they said it's going to be a trilogy from the beginning? Although according to EA it is an "ongoing series" so it could be more than three games. Everyone knows they're making a ME2, so it's probably KOTOR 3 or Jade Empire 2 (Which would be awesome, I loved Jade Empire.)

On another note, why are some people annoyed that KOTOR 3 could be an MMO? I mean I've only played the first one, but the combat system in that seemed very MMO like, I doubt I'd notice a difference aside from the fact that there would be other people playing around me.

Because the story and character development would suffer immensely. Part of what makes Bioware's games so good are the development of your character through conversations with the other characters in your party, as well as the story and finding out the background of each character. Take that away, which you sorta have to do considering it is an MMO, and you just have Star Wars Galaxies. It is fucking redundant because there already IS a Star Wars MMO. The MMO genre is one that, because of the time and cost commitment, most gamers only play one at a time. Since Galaxies is already scratching the MMO itch of Star Wars fans then what, exactly, is MMOKOTOR aiming to do? It is redundant to have another Star Wars MMO because of the nature of the genre. It would be like Blizzard making another MMO set in the WarCraft universe while still supporting the WoW series.

We'll see. Normally i'd agree, Bioware is one of those companies like Valve and Stardock that veritably crap gold and fart win. However, an MMO...will test the limits, both of all their skills as a designer, and my patience with them. It is a great gamble through which they could win, or lose, it all.
