Yes, it was actually satire: the boy in the video was making fun of laws that might have been passed banning violent games in Germany. |

Crysis anyone?? ^^ |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1039 Joined: 10 Oct 2008 | I would have to say crashes and buggy games on the PC. It is the sole reason, even though I love them, that console games will always be better than PC games. So many games have to patched and even after patches they still crash. It pisses me off to no end. No game ever crashed on my NES, SNES, PS1, N64, PS2, NGC, or PS3. It makes me a sad panda... |

In fact, I believe there was a bit of hubbub a while back over a multi-game CD Key generator. Bear in mind, by my stating this, I do not endorse piracy. I firmly believe all games must be legally purchased before you play them. It's just that sometimes you buy a game second-hand and the CD Key is long gone... |

Err, you listed a single game but you said "a lot of PC developers." You know what I find really annoying? People talking about computer gaming when they don't know anything about it.
What about them?
That's something faulted with the game and not the platform or games in general.
Because console games get updates instantly?
If those 15 seconds are that important for you, why are you wasting your time playing games in the first place?
Nothing is stopping you from using any sort of monitor or HDTV you want.
Such as? I thought the most popular client was Ventrilo.
I'm not sure I even understand :[
Again, that's a problem with bad developing (and can happen on any console game), not the computer game platform itself.
There's a very easy to find option to change that in Source games :] User was put on probation for: Poll: CoD: WaW. Its got major issues.. (3 days) |

Nah, just do a check disk with recovery on. That should be enough. Unless his HD is dieing, but then he would notice that a whole lot more than just a few corrupt files. |

Just because they're the developers' fault or have workarounds doesn't mean that they're not irritating or that they're not problems that characterize the PC platform. I don't own any consoles and I doubt I ever will, but those things piss me off too. |
Beat Writer Posts: 204 Joined: 8 Jul 2008 | System reguirments have me giving up on the PC gaming world. I don't like the fact that every damn year there's the chance I'll pave to update my video card. This year I finally got COD4 after getting a new PC of coarse and it looks like burnt dog shit on my new PC. I guess I'll just save some money and buy a new video card but I have no clue of which one to buy. |

You've got to be kidding me Eggo? Seriously? Not everyone has as good of a PC as you, and those issues are problematic for some people, including myself. And these are characteristics of the platform, everyone knows that Windows is meant to crash randomly for no reason anyway and things like that happen all the time on PCs. You have to learn to keep these things to yourself once in a while, really. |

They can be irritating, sure, but they aren't dependent characteristics of the platform. Which is what this thread is about. Although maybe I'm just really lucky or super smart because I almost never have any of these complaints.
This is why you should do your research. And if you want a new card to buy, then how much are you willing to spend? More importantly, what's your current rig look like? Hell, did you build the computer yourself?
More people on these forums have spent far more money in this generation for gaming consoles or PCs than I have for my PC. I think it's funny that people automatically assume my PC cost a lot of money simply because I can run just about anything on it and have none of the problems listed here or the reasons made by console gamers as to why they don't play on PC. I heard the XFX 7950 GX2 Quad SLI was the best but I also heard the Nvidia GeForce GTX 280 was the best. So I have no damn clue. And money really isn't a deterent but if it's just rediclous then I'll steer away. And I bought it, an ACER ASPIRE M1641-U1521A. |

I'm not sure what resolution you play at or at what settings you want to play at. User was put on probation for: Poll: CoD: WaW. Its got major issues.. (3 days) |

Never said that I thought your PC costed an arm and a leg, i'm fully aware that PCs don't cost as much as people think, which ironically came from you and your PC parts list to. Even the best of computers can crash sometimes, some are luckier than others, but the problems listed here are still problematic for PCs despite how many times you've encountered them. |

Ah, I understand. I guess I just don't understand where all these buggy computers or how they come about this way. I've built dozens of systems for people and the only complaints that ever arise are random mechanical failures or PEBCAK related issues. User was put on probation for: Poll: CoD: WaW. I'll Explain my thread with a little story of mine.
"Oh i finaly found this old pc game that i would like to play", Pops it into the disk drive, "Ok now lets install", Goes trugh procces, "CD key required", "Ok now ill put in the... NOOOOOO Where's my key!?", Goes of seaching, An hour passes by and still no key = Depression.
I hate when that happens, Especially when the game has or is an online game. Simelar things that have happened to you?
