From Liberty city to San Esperito, places in the free roam genre often vary in sizes and feel.whats your favorite? i might add a poll later, taking the most said.

I actually quite liked the Mercenaries 2 and 1 maps, and i loved San Andreas.

Azeroth. Colour, variety, beauty and danger. And talking cows.

Kolgujev.

I love the fact they give you a 10kmē map and only let you play on it for a couple of missions. It adds to the air of mystery surrounding the place. Nowadays every "open world" has to have a billion unlockables and secret missions to find; there's no joy in simply exploring the environment.

I quite enjoyed GTA IV's Liberty City, so alive and full of motion, Honorable Mention probably goes to Venezuala in Mercs 2, such a gigantic area.

Vvardenfell. Rich, diverse, and unlike any other.

Didn't care for the game, but San Esperito in Just Cause was a beautiful world. Lots of jungles, mountains, and haciendas. (any chance that spelling is right?)

I also enjoyed the city in Crackdown.

EDIT: Can't forget Morrowind. Stumbled onto the game back when I borrowed someone's XBox. I was completely blown-away. Vivic gave me heart palpitations.

New York, in the Spider-Man games.
It becomes epic when you realize the scale of it.

All of the Operation Flashpoint maps kick butt if you use the editor.

San Esperito was awesome but there should have been a lot more to do there. At least the Dictator should have had a better air force.I'd leave a few different saves on my PS2 card so I could roll strafing runs around the place but it got old pretty fast.

I liked the second Ace Map in Mercs1,not huge but if you took your time you were up all night due to no save on Ace contracts.

---and it's funny how small Vardenfell got once you were sump'nieth level with 100 speed and athletics.I'm not saying dinky because I'd hate to start over with some slow dude.

But if you get to pick any map anywhere,---it was Raid on Bungling Bay*--C64(not NES).Sure it just wrapped around, but my brother and our friends killed a whole Xmas vacation with that little game.

EDIT-for 1 correction and to say *The game was spelled Bungeling Bay on the box cover but Bungling in the disk directory
