I just watched the trailers for MadWorld and it seems to have gathered som very mixed reactions.
So I wondered what the opinions on the Escapist (generally a more intellectual game forum)would be of the game? Do you feel it's an unique artistic satire or just a ponitless immature gorefest?

I like this new trend of stylish games coming out these days. WE'LL SHOW THEM COMIE-GRAMERS!

Interesting graphic style but, like No More Heroes, I think it's going to be yet another action game let down by substandard hardware and a nasty, tacked on control system.

I agree. It looks beautifully done and extremely interesting, but ON THE FREAKING WII?!??!?!?!?!?!? OH COME ON!! The Wii has turned into just another gimmick and everyone is trying to make all these games that revolve around the control scheme. Let's face it, the Wiimote was interesting for the first few months, but now we realize just how weak the Wii's control scheme really is. Sometimes it's even unresponsive. It's good that they did it in black and white tho, because now they can make it look even more beautiful and amazing. They can add more detail since they don't have to deal with so many colors and all those soft shadows and bump mapping (although, I wouldn't object if the worlds had some texture) like on other games. It's a great premise, but I'm pretty sure the Wii's control scheme will end up ruining it. I think it would be a lot better if it were multiplatform, but then it probably wouldn't be too well accepted. I don't know, it might turn out like Braid. Some kind of phenomenon. All we can do is wait.
