It was announced today that with the New Xbox Experience debuting in Novemeber, that Netflix movie sharing will not be available at first as previously announced. It may come at a later date that would allow upwards of 8 Xbox Live accounts to 'share' a movie experience.

This prompted my poll....Where you rally looking forward to this feature? That is, the 'sharing' aspect?

I have a Netflix account, and while I am looking forward to watching an occasional classic late at night when I'm bored, and on demand....I just can't see myself inviting my online friends to 'virtually' watch a movie with me while they sit in their houses. I just can't picture myself putting a headset on and listening to each other breath or other background noise at their homes.

If I invite a friend over to watch a movie...it's because we're sharing a pizza or throwing back some beers...there are just some things you need to be 'in-person' to appreciate...like watching a movie together...

Maybe the only thing I see this good for is a long distance relationship for a couple who would be on the phone anyway.

So, I want to know from you...What are your reasons for wanting Netflix sharing? Are you bummed you can't have this Nov. 19th? Were you really gonna watch Street Fighter with your online friends in different cities together?

well i would kinda enjoy it because if you have to pay for the films then I will just scam my mates into letting me watch it with them. And have a laugh, but only if we cant get botherd playing games. But something tells me it will be laggy as fuck with faster and slower internet connection which would cause the buffer to move at different sppeds so It will be well laggy and skip about the place which will make the film unwatchable. And that will make me wana go on gears 2 and smash my mates head in with the sniper.

I'm not subscribed to netflix, so it doesn't affect me at the moment.

Wait, so will there still be the Netflix streaming on release, just without the ability to do it with friends? As long as we can still watch it by ourselves, that's all that matters to me.

That has to be the strangest and dweebiest "feature" I have ever heard of this year.

Did this whole Netflix thing even extend to countries outside the US? Prior to its announced inclusion into Xbox Live, I'd never heard of Netflix. I'm in Australia, by the way.

Yes, there will be streaming on releae....just NOT sharing with friends right away. It seemed unclear as to or if that would be available at a future date.

I've been enthusiastic about the idea of being able to stream Netflix through my console, but the "sharing" part of it wasn't that important to me. I'm happy enough unwinding after work watching a movie by myself without needing a virtual companion watching with me.

I'm more than happy to meet with friends in person to see a movie or hang out and watch a dvd if we're being social. Watching with a headset is like adding your annoying friend who has to nudge you and talk to you during the movie.

It's more the convenience of having a way to stream through my FiOS connection directly through my HDMI connection without putting in any disc or having to drastically alter my home theater setup.

I don't see the point of using my gaming console as a movie player. Even if I wanted to watch movies, which I rarly do these days, I could just stream it to my PC.

I'd be more disappointed if it were physically possible for me to use the feature, but not being USAian the entire Netflix experience is entirely unattainable for me. So, whatever.
