PROBATION Posts: 61 Joined: 15 Oct 2008 | I remember this game being suggested to me some time ago, in beta. I managed to get in.
The sound effects were horrible - they still are - , the graphics were ugly but the game was fun, and the voices were, ALL OF THEM, in korean or chinese, which made it eerily fun.
You'd run around as one of 5 classes, capturing flags or points that let you spawn at that point and attack the enemy'S base.
Buggy, glitchy, often a joke, but it was fun.
Then it went downhill. Hard.
Punkbuster came with intrusive, illegal bans and surveillance methods, unjust bans they never did and never WILL Explain, the introduction of the premium system that not only sucked, but the gmae was still buggier than hell.
K2 made obscure demands of the original creators and hired a development company to keep adding content to Warrock. And it was terrible. Maps where you could camp based on engine glitches or visual bugs\glitches came into play. One of the maps was massive, but you could clear-snipe across the map because if your pointer landed on an enemy, you'd not only usually hit, but you'd know you'd hit because the enemy's name popped up in red.
Warrock was fun. Then game glitching, bugging, all the aforementioned, the stupid fanbase just manifested more and more, and the game sink into the same hell Gunz is in right now.
I for one feel sorry at that. Given proper guidance and attention, the game could have been truly praiseworthy. Instead we have horrible balance, bugs, glitches and admin abuse...and all of the above.
This is a topic to talk about \ remorse about the failed potential of this game. |

And then I encountered all that K2 crap. I felt like someone spat on my cat's grave. I mean, it was PLAYABLE before. It was fun! And the korean speak really did add some weird unique flavor to it. All of the newer maps were also completely uninspired, and from what I can remember of the game, if you got premium, they gave you a god damned minigun! What the hell. I played one map and I was utterly appauled at how much my game was upgraded into degridation. Somehow that was possible... |

Paperboy Posts: 11 Joined: 9 Aug 2008 | I used to play this a fair bit, usually just Deathmatches, but I remember getting kicked out of almost every match I was in, that or the game randomly freezing up for NO reason whatsoever.. I really wanted to like that game, but it was damn near unplayable at times.. |
PROBATION Posts: 61 Joined: 15 Oct 2008 | Premium members get a lot more than just that. Crappy flashbangs that blind you (EASY KILL?) flash MINES that do the same, and I was about to say something very decisive here to complement your argument about premium but...I just woke up so it's gone -_-.
Point being, yeah...
Maybe with IP spoofing you can still play the Philippine version, it looks promising \ no shitty punkbuster. |
