Green-E66: I need help in a decision. Recently one of my friends came round and we went on a Fallout 3 marathon, doing quests and killing stuff. In all this, we saved once halfway through and never bothered to do so again. When I was seeing what the ripper could do, I *accidentally* shanked Moira while running around in 3rd person mode, at which point all of megaton ran after me. I killed them all with my alien blaster, but now I"m in a bind, as I've been playing a goody-two-shoes character, and this would be a rather sudden shift... What should I do? (Note, having the MIRV isn't good in terms of resisting temptations either >.>)
*shrugs* Well, you could just make sure to do good karmic stuff and get your karma back up. Is the dude begging for water outside of Megaton hostile to you too? You could give him a bunch of water. Or you could just play through the end of the game the way you are, maybe even becoming more evil and just see how it goes. You could always pick back up again at your save if you don't like being evil.

Although, the funny part is, massacring megaton only sent my karma to neutral... =P Perhaps I should just loot megaton and play a neutral..

There's a couple of the water guys around the map, and yeah, they're a great way to fix your karma. You just need to find enough water. I personally went from being perfectly god to totally evil from robbing people blind while they weren't home.

Eh, after realizing that Moira has a lot of caps, I decided to go neutral, being a good character really got me nothing more that the occasional clip of ammo from some resident. =P

Get tons of purified water and give it to the poor.
Alex_P: Why the hell can't you target body parts in melee VATS? It's like they went out of their way to make hand-to-hand combat horribly unsatisfying.
Your only choice for artfully disarming people -- or artfully wounding them in dramatic ways -- is to shoot them.
(I played a shooty character anyway so it's not a big deal for me. But, still, a disappointment.)

Bethesda are severely lacking on the animations front. Some people need firing.
fish food carl: Great. Well, I'm stuck again, but this time, I'm trapped by a glitch. I just went to the RobCo building for Moira, I installed the widget, then disaster struck... a huge, grey wall jarred across my vision. Like a big sheet of paper. I can't see anything, and there are angry robots after me. Using some cunning, the map and the V.A.T.S system, I killed a roomful, but then I got blasted by a thing I couldn't see, from a room obscured by a graphical glitch. I get these glitches occasionally, I got one very similar while just wandering the wastes, but is there any surefire way to get rid of them?
Pretty sure they're just graphical glitches that occur every so often. A reboot of your xbox/computer should fix that up, but you shouldn't be "stuck" as they are just graphical. You can walk through them, albeit blindly.
One would think so, but I can't see the murderous robots, but they can see me. This makes for a very unfair fight - I tried turning on Stealth Boy, and they still killed me.

Well the game autosaves everytime you enter a new building or section, so use either that or a previous that you've made and leave that building. After that, save again and then try rebooting.
Rshady: Anyone heard a guy shouting crazy phrases over a tannoy near the Rangers compound? Any ideas as to who or what that is?
He's mad as a hatter, and I haven't found any way of interacting with him directly. However, if you've got a good "sneak" skill or a few StealthBoys, his alley has four (?) mini-nukes and a bunch of frag mines you can steal. Just don't get spotted; he'll blow the alley, and the half-dozen mini-nukes he has buried that you can't steal or disarm aren't survivable.
Is there any way to stop the talon company mercs appering if you dissarmed the bomb in megaton, i olny just managed to survive a five man spawn. i figured that i could kill Burke and that would stop it but i can't find the bastard anywhere. even looked in tennpeny towers only to find tenpenny on the top floor, but no Burke.

I was able to snipe him with a hunting rifle. Then you can plunder the loot in peace.

Wait a sec, couldn't you just load the autosave from when you walked into Craterside Supply? Or did you delete it or something?
And also, to fish food carl, have you tried going into third-person and then back again? That might fix your graphical glitch.
Oh, the glitch has gone. Bling Cat is now a tad scared of me, as in my crazed bloodlust I slaughtered everyone in Megaton. And it was totally fucking orrsurrm!

Graphical glitches usually come from console/PC overheating, usually a restart solves it. Although the good part of the PC version of Fallout 3 is that you've got access to the \ console. Any bug you encounter can be solved, on the Xbox that doesn't happen, and I've heard there's plenty of bugs.

he's a wastelander who has rigged an entire alley with mines, you have to kill him, then avoid the mines to get through. Or, you can convince the other wastelander cowering in the corner to blow himself up.
Bocca: Guys! Is the dialog in this game anything like in the first one. Just curious 'cause I'm thinking of getting this game for Christmas.
It follows the same Tongue-in-Cheek style if that's what you're asking
Almost forgot, I was playing a hand to hand character, and I was fighting a mirelurk. I went up a hill, then went into VATS and out of sheer dumb, hilarious luck, my kick sailed into it's crotch. I laughed a lot after that.
I recall killing a feral dog with my character that has bloody mess, and it not only stayed intact, but died sitting, as if I had tamed it with my flaming blade of 1% CND.

I killed Burke, and they still came after me, but hunting rifles just rock in these situations.

Yee, now there's the funny part.
I stupidly ran outside after the aforementioned shanking, with the whole city already pissed off at me, causing another auto save. =P

Well, I think you're up that famous creek without a paddle. Just do some quests elsewhere that will get you good karma.
Actually if you've already killed the citizens of Megatown, this might be a good time to go the whole 9 yards and blow up the town with the nuke that's sitting in the middle of it. The great perk you get is
Nope, the Talon guys just keep coming after you. At first I thought it would end when I waxed Tenpenny, so I lazily wandered up to his penthouse and blew off his head with a shotgun. Nope. I think it's just as long as you have good karma.
On the bright side, they're fun to fight and you can use their loot to repair Riley's Ranger armor.
I think i found where talon company are based, its on capital hill. though i just saw them at the gate at the bottom i didn't go for a closer look but there was a robobrian their aswell if i took them out there would they still spawn out on the map. i'll be raiding them tonite when i get home.
Edit: scratch that about capitol hill, did some serching and it turns out they are based Fort bannisster and their camp west of grayditch
TheGhostOfSin: Has anyone else become a "Pirate of the Wastes"?
I disarmed the bomb but then I decided I wanted to have a change of heart. The discovery that I couldn't set it off anymore made me get mad...
If you have an explosives skill of one hundred it would make sense to let you do that, after all, they did say that it would take an expert to set it off while disarmed. But sadly, no.

I disarmed the bomb when I started, but once Megaton had run its course, I felt it was time for a massacre. Now I have huge amounts of stuff to sell, and I own the whole town. I have about a dozen houses, a couple of shops and an inn. Oh, and my own armoury. I like Megaton as my personal playpen.
I've wiped out a town on both games so far. Paradise Falls with my Good character, and The Republic of Dave with my neutral one. (Also nearly did Tenpenny Tower, but in the end just killed some guards and one unlucky spod who ran in front of Eugene).
I got fallout 3 for xbox 360, although I don't have my xbox with me. My friend has it on his laptop and we play it non-stop! I have an orgasm every time I shoot a grenade in an enemy's hand <3!

I love doing that. Or shooting it as it goes past another enemy. Nothing better in any game than that

I hate the grenades, never use them. I carry a few, just for the purpose of pickpocketing them onto somebody, then looting their corpse.

I found this shotgun called Lincoln's Repeater in the Museum of American History. It has become my favorite weapon in the entire game (even surpassing the Shishkebab) and I have lovingly dubbed it "Annabelle" in homage to my favorite Half Life character.

I think it's actually a rifle. Try it out at long range.
