My child, Atom's glow is a blessing for those who accept His glory. Come, come and celebrate the fission that will convert our wretched, filthy bodies into instruments of warmth and light! Drink with me, and pray... (Then again, that guy had the same voice actor as Colonel Autumn so maybe those characters get extra Rad Resistance or something.) -- Steve |

A) He set off a non-targeted strike of seven-eight mini nukes. It's on the wiki somewhere. 2)EAGLE CLAW! My god I love Argyle. 2: I will add a ton more Herbert 'Daring' Dashwood shows. I mean a TON. I will do freaking seasons of them. I'll probably either do the voices myself or get people on the Escapist to record them and send me the audio file. I have plans for this game. |

Err... try about 50% as a rough guesstimate. It's a short main campaign. |

I would really say more like 30%, he still has to go through all that Raven Rock shit, and Vault 87 |

30? come off it. I would say he might be higher than 50. User was banned for: The Second Annual Escapist Election: Part 1: Presidential Primaries. (Permanent) |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1494 Joined: 4 Oct 2008 | I have a question, I just happened to be playing fallout 3 on my 360 when I notice one of my recently played players is playing fallout. I decide to look at what level he is at and I am shocked to see that he was "level 32--Scourge of humanity" I thought the max level was 20, so how is this possible? |

If he's playing the PC version through Games for Windows Live, and he's used a PC "console" command to change the level cap, it might just get reported that way. Pre-NXE his GamerTag would have a little PC-shaped icon next to it if that was the case; did you see anything that might hint he was playing on a desktop instead of a 360? -- Steve |

That's exactly what I had thought at first, but I checked him over and over, and there was no indication of that. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2381 Joined: 6 Mar 2008 | Just finished the game. The conclusion would have been disappointing had there been any semblance of narrative to buy into. As it is, the non-ending is unsatisfying but hardly unexpected. Once I reached level 20 I found the game to be almost excruciatingly dull and hurried to the endgame as soon as I could. Though I'd like to believe the thrill of exploration kept me going it was most likely the prospect of MOAR GRINDAN (not that there's anything wrong with grinding; actually I rather enjoy it). The overall experience would have undoubtedly benefitted from a greater variety of weapons, enemies and loot: you see everything there is to see within five hours or so (copy/pasted rooms and tunnels are not my idea of a large, open-ended world). There's also a definite lack of progression since I didn't sense I was developing as a character or getting stronger whenever I levelled up. The stat points system is obsolete and arguably broken. Perks were nice but a large percentage were so obviously unhelpful that you wondered why they were even there in the first place (Infiltrator springs to mind). VATS was cool but only served to mask the dire combat. There is far too much emphasis on close quarters gunplay and heavy armour (for example, the sniper rifle only seems to be reliable from <30 yards). Even with a sneak skill of 100 and light armour I found it very difficult and unworthwhile to sneak up on outdoor enemies. I tried to avoid close range shotgun whoring but by the end of the game I just wanted to speed through as quickly as possible. Overall I enjoyed the 30+ hours but I'm still not convinced by the open-world... thing. JRPGs may not be everyone's cup of tea (especially on The Escapist) but they suit me down to the ground: predictable and formulaic, perhaps, but they never promise what they can't deliver.
(Apologies, I forgot ratings are for fools ^_^) |

I'm exploring the wastes as my own representation of what the medic from tf2 would look like in that world. (energy weapons, medicine, and science maxed. Also distributed my skill points as such that i've maxed out repair, speech, and lockpick as well) Now i've gotten the alien blaster at level four mind you, now i'm level 20 and i've since run out of ammo for it. What I would love is if someone could tell me some of the locations that has the highest amount of probability that the firelance and/or ammo will drop? Me and my medic would be very happy. |

Not only is it bad, you can't even get in to that place through the front entrance (screw you, Bethesda! I didn't want to go through that alternate destination - I wanted to completely avoid it altogether!) Trust me, I've tried it - it's impossible. That's precisely what I was trying to miss in my own playthrough. Fallout just isn't the same without the ability and option to plant dynamite on a child and blow them into 48 irregularly-shaped chunks. I didn't use that option in either of the previous Fallouts, but that destination in Fallout 3 made me want to laser-drill all of their heads. I haven't run into Dogmeat yet either. I've noticed that some console commands don't work too well. I for example have no luck getting anything to unlock using the "unlock ____" command. The "tgm" command works really well though. Lately, I've been playing using tgm command just for kicks. It's like being some kind of post-apocalyptic super hero as you can take all kinds of physical and chemical damage without dying. It doesn't really diminish the challenge of the game much though as you still have to figure out what to do next, what to say and where to go. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1281 Joined: 7 Nov 2007 | Bumping this thread because the patch for the 360 version dropped tonight, and this means we can expect the January DLC soon. List of fixes here: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=940978 I didn't experience many problems (at least not as many as you'd think, looking at that list), but I've read plenty of complaints about bugs - here's a few I and my wife have come across. Bug Fixes Fixed rare issue with getting stuck in VATS mode. Fixed occasional issue where the controller would stop working properly. Quest Fixes Fixed several XP speech exploits with certain NPCs. |

If you do find her there, are you able to talk to her?
I'll check that as soon as I get the password to my Steam account back (got a friend to change it so I don't get distracted in the run up to a uni interview on thursday)
