I'd say world war ONE - YES THAT IS ONE PEOPLE

Or the Falklands, me commanding officer would like that since he fought in it :P
And even though the Americans got slaughtered, and there would be no justice involved anywhere, I think Vietnam would be a pretty good idea

Also, I don't think wars older than say....1850 would work
What about the Allied invasion of South Africa though? Or India? Just a thought...

Revelo:
I think the whole 'What If' and 'Choose your own adventure' style gameplay would be excellent. I remember Colony Wars: Vengeance had a system where the war progress depending on how well you did the missions was excellent and while I have never played it; Road to Berlin had a system where you took control of how WW2 progressed itself, so the war might have ended in 1946 with an allied victory, or in 47 with Germany capturing London. I heard the game was crap so it's a rather unexploited mechanic I believe.

umm yeh that never happens its basically the panzer games

World War I for sure. Trench combat would be a blast as long as they made close combat fun. Fighting off waves of charging enemies and then having to assault the enemies trench through masses of bullets....and they could add in other historical things like mustard gas and what not.

Although there are few (if any?) good Vietnam-centered games, I think COD could pull it off pretty well.

Doesnt Cod:WaW take place in Vietnam? if not some place very similiar to 'Nam

Typhusoid:
Iraq war, love to see what they'd make of that

See Cod 4 ^^^

Korea. Never seen a game come out with that war.
Vietnam. Eh, might be good.
World War 1. I woul buy this one if we were on a zepplin. Zepplins kick ass.
ANY WAR FROM THE LOSING SIDE--C'mon, we always see the American side of WWII. Why not one about a German conscript named Dieter serving on Normandy? Or one that is stationed on the eastern front? Who else wants to see this?

I think they should do Vietnam, and you could choose whether to be American or Vietcong. I know it might leave a bad taste in some peoples mouths to do this considering the outcome, but im sure many Germans buy WW2 games knowing the outcome of that.

COD6 Is already being made. Its about a future war. and COD:Modern warfare 2 is the same premsis as the first. But COD7 would have to be Cavemen fighting.

A fresh, untouched war would be nice. Otherwise, no more pointless sequels!

Vietnam war. Straight-up jungle warfare mixed with the occasional city/village battle just to keep people from getting sick of the jungle.

Also, back to WWII, but let people play as the Germans in a campaign, alternating with the Allies, of course. Initial successes, then a massive fallback.

Maybe even the battle of Normandy, taking one of them pillboxes and being forced to fall back as the Allies shoot your allies to hell, showing no mercy.

Then a fallback to the Falaise gap, the Battle of Arnhem, Reichstag or whatever, maybe your player character gets killed by an Allied player character.

Maybe some more "secret missions" in a modern 21st century setting like MacMillan and Price's Chernobyl thing, maybe with the Navy SEALs if the SAS feels overused. They're pretty much the American equivalent anyway.

Maybe base them off of Operation: Red Wing, trek through the unnamed replacement Afghanistan mountains fighting off literally hundreds of an unnamed Al Qaeda analog while climbing up and down mountains. Then while his allies get killed off in scripted sequences, the lone SEAL must complete his mission with a voice on a radio and American-friendly tribes helping him to safety.

Or maybe something with the Special Activities Division, preferably dealing with some South American banana republic or whatever.

Also planes. I want to get into a dog fight. Not just be a gunner or a bomber, I want to be the pilot.

We didn't fight the Vietnamese in WWII. We fought the Japanese.

How about the First Contact War of 2157 CE? Maybe you could even play as the turians for half the campaign and humanity for the other.

Any war that hasn't been done.

Will accept a yar set 20 years in the future.

Exactly what I was thinking. Near future war would be great. Or maybe the Gulf War. I don't think we've had much desert warfare yet.

I would like to see them do a future war, but one that happens in 5 years, and is a Civil war in America. Its not so unlikely, and they would do a good job.

I don't think you can really do old war games, like revolutionary war, or civil war and stuff. Who would want to play a game where you stand in a line and shoot at each other. Vietnam War or something would be nice.

As long as it isn't WW2 again, I don't care. Maybe desert storm?

None; Activision needs to learn to know when to end a series, it should of ended with COD 4, COD: waw sucked and was a desperate attempt at making money, end of.

Don't forget the mining. One of the lesser-known tactics of trench warfare was digging tunnels through to the enemy's trench.

All the good wars have already been done.

please tell me - what war is good exactly?

but on topic - what I want to see in CoD mainstream - hmmm don't really care as long as the suspense and dynamics of the game are still there XD
