High, as a cynical, skeptical, optimistic 1/3 Hispanic I am, I'd like to know what DLC you think should be realeased for Fallout 3.

Personally, I'd like a new mission where you have to collect parts for this BOS guy whos trying to make a "Vertibird." Once you complete this quest, you'll have the option to travel to the "West Coast", or to the city that the vault-dwellers son helped to create at the end of "Fallout 2." I think that was in southern Oregon or Washington...

DLC? hmm.. how about a patch that fixes the random crashes and graphical glitches?

[Edit: Is that too bitchy?]

Not really, I thought gamers when they buy a game should have a game that is in a finished and working state, it's not too much to ask for.

I'd much rather have the SDK out and about so I can get some sweet ass DLC I don't have to pay for.

What's the point of dlc if the game doesn't work properly in the first place?

Although an sdk would gives some programmer fans a chance to correct some bugs I guess.

Give me the modding tools not the DLC.

I don't know why Bethesda are holding on to the modding tools really, they launched them when Oblivion got out so why delay now? Are they gonna pull a "EA" on us?
Hopefully not otherwise I'll lose a great deal of respect for them.

they've said that it takes more then just releasing the mod tools. they have to change them to make them more user friendly or something

Fallout 3 is running fine on my PC (with an above average config I must admit) ... that said ... the most popular mods will be community made, but I really want to see a romance mechanics added to the game (similar to The Witcher or any western rpg really) ... it's boring being among the last of human kind and not looking for a soul mate in this doomed land.

SDK, stands for Software Development Kit, bascically the modding tools you were asking for.

The crazy internet rumours tell me that they don't want to release the SDK because Oblivion had to be marked up in age limit for some mod they didn't make.

you know, I totally agree

We're so inundated with romantic subplots these days that I was flabbergasted that there wasn't any in this game.

It would be nice if there was some romance in this game other then that stupid hooker ("Worst 120 caps I ever spent!")

Fallout 3 is already rated as Mature. Don't tell me it's going to get an AO rating because someone just want to have the fun of exploring the wasteland naked ... > . >

Know what I want? Item descriptions. That's it. The world would be a far more interesting place with the return of the quipy blurbs about cigrattes.

well, that was just one of the reasons it was uprated, and that wasn't even the leading reason for it being uprated.

Bethesda neglected to submit some rather graphic dead body decorations. Bethesda actually won the "we didn't make the titty mod" argument, unlike Rockstar, who decidedly lost the "we didn't make the hot coffee mod" argument

In Bethesda speak, it's called a Construction Kit. And I want it something fierce. I don't understand why they can't release what tools they have. But the official word is that, if they are released, it will take time to package them in a way that is user-friendly and easy to distribute. I'm willing to wait, but this uncertainty is killing me.

To answer the OP, I would like to see a mod that brings some resolution to Vault 101. I played the quest where you return to the Vault, but I thought something more conclusive was in order. Especially concerning Amata, who seems like she should be more important to the plot.

Also, I haven't experience any problems with the game. I'm sure there are issues, but we're not talking Assassin's Creed, here.

WELL SIR COMPANIES SAY A LOT OF THINGS DON'T THEY?! I FOR ONE AM NOT AMUSED!

User friendly? Whaat?
Oh please, release the dev version now and then a friendly one later, all of the modders out there surely can deal with both.

I am seriously thinking they're going to pull something bad out of this...

Horse Armour... it would be EVERY BIT as useful as it was in Oblivion. [/snide]

Seriously though, I'd like to see them make a 'weapons pack' introducing some of the Fallout 1 & 2 weapons:

- M72 Gauss Rifle / Pistol (Small Guns)
- 14mm Pistol (Small Guns)
- Needle Pistol (Small Guns)
- Y2K Pulse Rifle / Pistol (Energy Weapon)
- Solar Scorcher (Energy Weapon)
- Cattle Prod (Melee)

- Super Stimpacks (Aid)

And more quest lines with interesting characters. Give us more Shivering Isles style stuff.

A LOT more quests, seriously, compare the quest quantity of Oblivion with Fallout 3 and be prepared for a laugh.

C'mon, more quests! I really want to play this game a lot but if there isn't any quests i wouldn't have a goal :(

Well, there was that goth chick, Bittercup, in Big Town. I reacted positively to her flirting, and she brought me a can of Cram ^__^

Yeah I wasn't entirely sure about that, hence calling it a crazy internet rumour. Good to hear they won the mod argument though. Would be stupid if user generated content dictated the rating on games or got them outright banned. I don't remember any graphic dead body decorations in Oblivion though, I admit I haven't completed it or even played it much(about 20 hours or so). Where exactly were these graphic decorations?

The ESRB stated that the reason they upgraded the rating wasn't because of the naked mod, as was popular belief, but because of the intense violence you could encounter. They stated that the scenes they were shown for the initial rating were on the darkest brightness setting in areas such as the necromancer's caves and Dark Brotherhood quests (if you've played it, you'll know what I mean), and on a second review after the nude mod controversy they decided the game was more violent than they were originally led to believe.

As to the OP's question, I haven't actually played the game, but if it doesn't have the Vault Dweller's clothing from Vault 13, it definetly should. Also, dog armor.

Hah, well played, sir!

I'd like more quests and maybe some romance stuff, it wouldn't be a stretch that even in a post-apocalyptic D.C, people still like.. well, people.

many of the caves have them hanging from the cielings. They're always darkly lit, and it was the darkly lit nature of them that let them slip by the ESRB the first time.

I think they're pretty tame, they're green (due to putrification), and just seem to be dried out husks, but they were the tipping point for Bethesda having to re-release the game with a new rating

EDIT: and like someone had said, there were other rather gruesome and violent features of the game *shrug*

it is funny that Rockstar almost had to uprate San Andreas to AO because of some ridiculous minigame that was left in the code. how did they ever think the hot coffee minigame would pass the ESRB? It's not polished, but it is fully functional, they built a whole minigame for having graphic sex before they realised that was a bad idea, then just snipped the connecting script and left the code floating in limbo.

Then when it came out they flatout denied that it was their work until it showed up on the un-moddable console version..

Silly Rockstar.

What, after the patch? More equipment is nice. So is more places and missions. Say, are there any creatures in Fallout 1 & 2 that can be placed in DC without being non-canonical?

If they release the mod tool ANYTHING can be made. Just look at Oblivion mods.

Yes yes, I think we can all agree that the quests in oblivion (Especially for "The Shivering Isles" expansion were like what Yahtzee said when reviewing it, but this thread was supposed to be about "DLC" not some "modding software!" For gods sake, if I wanted to hear foreigners and fellow Americans/Brittish talk, I'd have long given up my free will and joined the "hive-minded" video-game sites!!!

P.S. To those of you who did talk about DLC, go more "in depth" for quests and "weapons". I want to see your knowledge of previous Fallout games, or your knowledge of how to look up the various items, charcters, etc, etc on Wikipedia, or better yet "Wikia."

P.S.S. TsunamiWombat SEEMS TO HAVE GOTTEN THE IDEA, ALBIET NOT GRASPED IT TO THE DEGREE OF DETAIL I DEMAND BY THE UBER-ENGLISH DEGREE BEARING ENGLISH SPEAKERS THAT SEEM TO PROWL THIS SIGHT, LOOKING TO CORRECT AND HAVE A GOOD CONVERSATION.

P.S.S.S. I KNOW I'M USING CAPS LOCK, 7top huraasing 3E

EDIT: Also, whats all this talk about "SDK'S!?" I have the xbox 360 version assholes!!! However, if some can convince me that they can make a user friendly SDK for console realease, then forgive my stupidity, if not, quit being so selfish PC Gamers!!! You may not have died out, but your still more annoying then Yahtzee if I met him in person (and then kicked him in the nuts, and pay his hospital bill, because thats the love/hate relationship I have with his reviews).

I would really like something similar to Shivering Isles- in that it's an entirely different setting. As another poster mentioned, building a Vertibird would be good, but why go to the West Coast? We know what's going on on the West Coast, because of the previous games. I want to see other countries, and how they were affected by having nuclear bombs dropped on them. Just as long as the inhabitants don't have hammed-up accents.
