Who is your favorite protagonist and what game is he/she from? Mine is the Prince of Persia (Obvious which game he's from).

Master Chief.
[/facetious]

(Oh boy, hope no one calls me out on that one!)

Also, my deja nazi 6th sense is starting to prickle, I'm sure this has been done before.

Whoever the hell you play as in Far Cry 2. When you remove bullets from yourself with nothing but a finger, then you're a badass in my book. If he/she doesn't count because they aren't actually a protagonist, just me pointing at 9 people and saying they're awesome, then Louis from Left 4 Dead. He shoops woop, just do his 'argh' voice command until he shouts "OH NO!"

I don't really have a favorite, but Altair from Assassin's Creed is pretty cool, and a little different.

Kael'thas from Warcraft 3/TFT. That still counts as he was a protagonist in those games, even if he was an antagonist in WoW:BC.

Man I always loved Kael, he was always so devious, so smart, and more importantly he had poise! I really think that's the only reason why both of my 70s were Blood Elves.

Seriously.

Very clever of you...wait, what did you want to be called again? I kept calling you Jimmy but you wanted a new name.

And then they made him suck in TBC :( He went all "Blargh DEMONS!" and then all "Blargh UNDEAD!"

at least they gave him one of the more interesting boss encounters (that I played, anyway, admittedly I didn't get very far into Hyjal or anywhere into Black Temple. My guild did but I stopped playing by then.)

Yup, but Kaels' fight must be my favorite fight overall, I really liked its phases, first his minions, then his weapons and then you use the weapons to defend yourself from his abilities. And watching him preaching his speech was top notch. If that's not epic I don't know what is.

<3 Kael.

Well both of my Blood Elves stopped at T5 content gear wise but I pulled in a few favors from friends and they managed to take me to BT.
Let me tell you, the whole Ildian fight is awesome, he is quite the character.

Solid/Naked snake. Because (other than twin snakes which I do not count) he seems that little bit more human. Smoking, bad tempered, awesome.

Mine would have to be Dante from Devil May Cry 3 (3 specifically yes). He was hillarious.

Must......not..........take.......bait..........

Grah I'm sorry, but I have too. Even calling him a character is a stretch, he seems to have the personality of...well...a walking suit of armor.

Edit: Not that it doesent work, it's fine for the setting. I just dislike the religion that seems to be building around it (not him IT)

How about Smitty?
Smitty Werben Jegermanjenson.

I hate dislike Halo and anything that's related to it.

Ahh thats ok then. Seriosly, everyone in that game is cliche and steryotyped.

I'm no halo fan either, but I'm not trying to derail so ill shut it.

Gordon Freeman.

How he keeps quiet while bashing headcrabs, zooming through tunnels on a boat and sneaking up on Combine, I'll never know.

The Nameless One!

How can you not love an immortal who has lived countless lives over hundreds of years, but thanks to his shattered existence has repeatedly lost all but a few fragments of the memories of who he previously was and how he came to be that way. Especially when his previous incarnations were so.. how to put it.. interesting.

I don't see the problem with Halo, it's fairly entertaining.
Back on topic.
I like Raziel from the Legacy of Kain series. Don't know why though.

The Malkavian from Vampire the Masquerade. He had the best dialog ever.

Abe from Oddworld: One of the most frail and wimpiest characters ever but still manages to blow up meat and booze factories.

Just realised I never did name my favorate protagonist. I would say Solid snake from the metal gear series, if he himself wasn't shamlessly riped from the protagonist from escape from new york. And I would have to sit down to a meal comprised entirely from my own words based on my wn post further up in this thread.

So I'm gona have to go with the Prince from sands of time. He's one of the few game characters that actually has a believable personality.

I liked Geralt from the Withcher
I know there was some bad voice acting in english version, but in mine he had a few killer lines.

Sam Fisher. He might be getting a little annoying at this point in the series (I'm probably just bitter from how buggy Double Agent was on PC), but he's still a cool and well-developed character.

Mario.

Who doesn't know him? He's famous for not 'getting any' from the woman he's rescued about a thousand times.

The protagonist from Bioshock.

He has a magical hand that shoots bees. And this is why he takes the prize; because no matter who you are, the moment you're compared to a magical hand that shoots bees you're going to fucking lose.

I called you Jimmy because your last name is Wilson and I was instantly reminded of James 'Jimmy' Wilson from House.

I guess I will pick Fei Fong Wong from Xenogears.

NO wait I pick Naked Snake! Damn, is it too late to change it?
