I agree. Don't be bitter because DA was buggy, though. Be bitter because it was a disgrace to the series. In my mind, Chaos Theory is the best in the series. And Fisher does have some of the best quotes ever. "Do I go to your job and tell you how to murder innocents?" My favorite has to be Faith from Mirror's Edge, though. Seriously, a female protagonist with a realistic body? Genius!! |

I'm not on a tirade at all. I'm just stating that your bringing this up on a completely unrelated thread is pointless. Though pointing out the obvious generally does tend to anger most folks.

Way to quote Yahtzee verbatim. My favorite protagonist would be a tie between myself in SR2 and myself in the Penny Arcade games. |

see? I told you. you'd get better response with quotation marks and citation. people see you using his words to try and sound clever, even if that's not how you meant it, it's how it looks. |

Good to see I'm not the only one who noticed this. |
Paperboy Posts: 47 Joined: 28 Oct 2008 | Truth Be told, I have been on a real anti-hero kick. I just replayed COD4 campaign since I was going to be running out to pick up COD:WaW in the next week. Well that and that campaign could be finished in an afternoon. And it absolutely rocks. But I REALLY enjoyed Captain Price's style. And not just for the moustache. He REALLY had the greater good in mind. Well maybe the western greater good in mind, but who is counting? :P. Price was concerned with keeping dangerous goods out of the hands of people that would do bad things to the west. Price was so fixed on these goals that he really let the well being of those goals countered his to fall forfiet. Price ignored a lot of moral conduct to get his job done as swiftly and efficiently as possible. I really like these characters for the "Dark Knight" effect they have on the population. They are a total necessity in the world we live in of widely divergent values and beliefs, but in modern society, almost everyone utterly reviles their very existence. In this liberal, anti-estabolisment age, everyone hates the agents of the powers that be with the power to take such decisive, brutal action when such action is needed. People see it as uncivilized and scary, but show violent force is really often the only thing that can cross all language barriers and biases, for better or for worse. Well all that and Price fights FOR the government, not against. Which is a bit of a new spin on things, since everyone else is playing the underdog rebel card. But my real Protagonist de jour is Kratos. God of War Kratos. I REALLY want to see him fleshed out a bit more. He started off as a power hungry general who was fueled only by his insatiable ambition. Then he went too far in his ambition and wound up getting himself involved in powers that were way over his head at the time (the gods), and then he ended up going too far is his pursuit of power (wont say for possible spoilers! if you dont know, please go play through the first god of war!!) And is now on a journey to free himself from the memories of his crimes, to cease his servitude to the gods and just generally be left alone. Kratos is like a character from a greek tragedy being played in reverse, starting at his tragic mistake and has to make it to his redemption. All that and his is outwardly and incredibly selfish, evil bad ass, that, even from the start of the game must commit to tasks that are inarguably for the greater good, dispite again, being a total malicious misanthrope. But he still has just that little measure of remorse and regret to almost seem human. He may not be the BEST example, but it is MY favorite. **Sorry for the wall of text, but myself and a good friend we just arguing this not an hour ago, so I came in to this topic with both barrels loaded** |

Just because he doesn't take crap and hates when people tell him to go through a bunch a stupid challenges just to get revenge unlike most game characters who recieve orders to do something and happily accept without so much as complaining. |
Paperboy Posts: 47 Joined: 28 Oct 2008 | OH, and massive props to "The Bard" of "The Bard's Tale" Cary Elwes and the rest of the voice actors MADE that game. If it was not for the bard being absolutely perfect is all of his dialogue and reactions, driving me to finish the game, that game would have likely kinda sucked. There are too many quotes to list, but what else do you expect from the guy who did the first fallout? So that makes The Bard note worthy for awesome protagonists. |

She's in my favorite story, has an incredibly good voice actor, priceless facial expressions, deviates from the "standard" female roles in most video games, and built a murderous gynoid with a stomach that shoots laser beams. Only thing I really disliked about her was her fashion sense. I've played a lot of JRPGs so it takes a real disaster for me to even notice anymore let alone have it bother me. |

I just got the feeling that she was being a major BITCH in episode three though, must be the result of Kevin's mindfuckery. As for the topic, that guy from RAD (Robot Alchemic Drive). When you use something that oddly resembles a PS2 controller to control a clumsy giant robot without proper aiming (good luck with getting that Mazinger Z-esque flying fist to actually hit something other than a building), you know you have yourself a winner. |

If it's referring to an earlier post in a forum, yes. But this was referring to a video, something which hardly anyone uses proper quotation for. And honestly, Yahtzee is Yahtzee. Everyone knows who he is and his awesome quotes.
Besides, this isn't the etiquette nazi thread, is it?
