First off, why are you talking about Bob in this thread? Second, I think you meant 'best' not 'beast'. Anyway, pointless posts such as this one cannot go unreported. Dr. Dre is also finally releasing Detox after what...10 years? It's going to suck, Eminem's new album is going to suck, Guns & Roses new album is going to suck. It's not a matter of music quality either (Except in Eminem's case, it hasn't been that long since his last one) it's just that after so long people assume that they must have made it perfect. Expectations will be too high. Same story for DNF, but that's not coming out anytime soon. |

You mean 10 year? And, it would be epic if 3D Realms were to finally release Duke Nukem Forever, and it was only a 5 minutes game followed by a rickroll. Off course they'd all be found dead and dismembered the following day, but god, would they go down in history. |

I remember it actually, not the exact date, but I do know that I was playing Starcraft, Diablo and Half-Life a lot at the time... so if that puts the DN4 timeline into perspective for you... somewhere around '98 give or take. Thats the first time I heard of it actually. It could have been around for longer, but that was when I got into PC gaming seriously. I really believe it's not even being made. It's like some kinda of crazy joke that just won't die. I know theres screenshots and stuff... still think its just a joke. |

It was originally announced in April 1997, so your 10 year guess is only a year and a half off. (EDIT: further research has revealed that this April 1997 announcement included a projected release date of mid-1998, meaning that this game has actually been delayed for over 10 years.) If Duke Nukem Forever is released and it isn't absolutely terrible, I will eat my hat. |

Duke Nukem was ground breaking because it was dirty sexy filfthy fun with great multiplayer. Now adays? Been there, done that. Everything that made Duke Nukem sequel worthy is old news. So theres no reason to MAKE a Duke Nukem Forver. Let sleeping dogs lie, cancel the project. End. |

Even if every reviewer in the world up to and including Yahtzee declared it to be the best game ever released in the history of the medium, it still probably wouldn't live up to expectations. |

Agreed! It's like an gaming urban legend! So one day, when we're old and have grandkids who game, we can gather them around and tell them of the mystical game that was never released...the pinnacle of gaming achievement...the best game ever. Then those kids will pass it down, and so forth, until some lone child...one day...decides to embark on the quest for Duke Nukem: Forever. A harrowing journey to find the 'one game'...the holy grail of gaming. ...wow... Then they'll find it, realizes it sucks, and wish they left it an urban legend like WE did. Stupid kid. |
