I was just playing one of my old PSP games, Megaman Powered Up. In this game you can unlock and play as the boss characters you fight after you beat them..Well, one of these bosses justt so happened to be Oilman...Now, the boss character does always have the attacks it uses and one more advantage that Megaman himself does get, and usually they're pretty handy. But, not Oilman's. His extra ability is not slipping on oil floors...Which, would be alright if oil floors weren't used in only one level of the entire game! Ontop of that, his attack is next to pointless, you shoot an oil blob on the floor and ride it like a snow board. Unfortunately, far too often this attack hurts you at the same time it hurts the enemy!

So I ask you, what is the worst Unlockable character in your opinion?

Sweet Tooth from TM2 comes to mind.

"Hey awesome, I unlocked Sweet Tooth...Wait, why does he play like a crappier version of Warthog?"

Pichu in Melee, without a doubt. Even his trophy has nothing good to say about him. "He's weak. Easy to kill. Hurts himself with most of his attacks. Your best bet is to run around the stage using items."

Mokap from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Do I even need to explain how stupid the idea of a guy in a motion capture suit, in a Mortal kombat game is?

Olimar's a starting character :P
I've always found him to be extremely fun to play. Then again I'm drawn to the more unusual characters like Ness or Olimar.

He's a starter? shows how much attention i pay. Ness is good but i prefer Lucas. would it cause mayhem if i said i didn't like Sonic in it?

Mel Gibson in Shift 3 (flash game). Damn that was a disappointment.

Actually that is a joke designed by the developer. The actual secret character is Fancy Pants man, but the developer wants that everyone says it's Mel Gibson.

I'm torn between Ness and Lucas. I LOVED Ness in Melee, and he's changed quite a bit in Brawl. I mostly use Random :P
Nah, I don't get Sonic, but my friend is a beast with him.

I'm gonna say Game & Watch at the moment. In Melee, you near kill yourself to unlock EVERYONE, than:
"New Challenger!
GAME AND WATCH!" I nearly threw the controller into the screen.

Marth in SSBB...who cares? Also, why have three characters from Starfox with exactly the same final smash?

Also, did anybody ever use Ash, the incredibly gay (literally) unlockable boss in Bare Knuckle 3? I tried him once, and he sucked (No jump attack, his special attack was just his regular attack but in a flurry, no throws, couldn't use weapons...need I go on?).

Argh; I actually liked Mr Game & Watch, if only for the novelty value (and Kirby's costume once he absorbs him). The biggest disappointments in Melee for me were Marth and Roy. I mean, I didn't even know who these guys were, so it wasn't really a worthwhile unlock.

I'm sorry? Are we in Japan. I don't think we're in Japan. Unless we're in Japan you will call it 'streets of rage 3' you god damn communist.

They don't have the same final smash, they just have very similar final smashes.

You are terrible as Olimar is one of the best new characters introduced.

Anyway, that stupid Bear from castle crashers with the "Tornado" power up.

Unusable is definitly the worst unlockable feature. For that reason my vote is for Tekken 3 Dr. B.

GET UP. Good. What? No. GET UP. eurgh. Idiot.

Streets of Rage 3 was woefully inadequate compared to its japanese counterpart. I'll take japanese dialogue over terrible, plot holed-filled, inconsistent dialogue any day, so I'll call it what I like, you filthy facist.

MewTwo in Smash Bros Melee. As far as I know he has no redeeming features. He's slow, imprecise, incredibly weak and the power of his attacks is only average at best. faster (starting) characters like Fox and Cpt Falcon can literally run rings around him/it.

They don't have the same final smash, they just have very similar final smashes.

No, they're functionally identical. Why couldn't Wolf use his own Ship?

Presumably because the programmers were feeling a tad lazy...

One can only assume they were still high from whatever it was that caused them to come up with Luigi's Final Smash.

Dr B from Tekken 3. Bastard to play with and somehow annoyingly difficult to beat, since he spends all his time out of range of your best attacks.

Wolf in SSBB, it seemed like a great idea but he wasn't that interesting plus yeah, his final smash didn't leave much to desire!

What was wrong with Mr. GAW, I thought someone you would never see again made a great final secret character! Actually I didn't think much of him but he was very original.

Karla from FE7 is a good pick. To get her, you have to force yourself to raise a particular character who is crap to a high enough level to not die in one fight against her (Bartre.) Then you have to wait around until the game is almost over, then bring Bartre into a mission with nothing in it except shops and an arena. Then you take him to the arena and Karla shows up to fight him (for some reason.) Now you have to pray that Karla doesn't critical hit you, which is always a possibility. If your crap axeman DOES manage to avoid death, Karla joins you.

And your reward for all this work? The WORST Swordsmaster in the game. She's not horrible, but the two guys you pick up before her are both easier to get and stronger. She's completely useless, especially considering the amount of work you have to put in to get her.

Also, Namco needs to understand that the only random weapon character who was ever cool was Edgemaster. I just don't CARE about all these other worthless guys. Olcadan, Charade... Why? Really, what's the point? There's already a thing the player can click to select a random character, so what is the point of the random character weapon guys?

Esildur from the Two Towers. He is EXACTLY the same as Aragon, even the other characters call him Aragon for goodness sakes!

Rob and Sonic in SSBB. I would have loved to use either of them, but... yeah.

Also, I'm going to be a dick and mention the worst unlockable weapon: the MP44 in CoD4. What the fuck is up with that thing?

The worst unlockable character ever was Boo in SSB for Gamecube. Seriously, it takes forever to get him and then he doesn't even really work once you have him.

Falco in SSBB, there really is NO reason for him to be in the game. He moves like Fox, attacks like Fox and has the same smash as Fox, he serves NO purpose. At least Wolf plays a little differently.
