Not Good:

PedroSteckecilo:
Falco in SSBB, there really is NO reason for him to be in the game. He moves like Fox, attacks like Fox and has the same smash as Fox, he serves NO purpose. At least Wolf plays a little differently.

Falco took Fox's blaster from SSB1 and he moves slower... his fire attack thing charges faster, and his dash covers less distance. That last one was a sell for me as I always over shot with Fox and died.

Not to mention he kicks his reflector out, which damages and will knockback/trip.

Unholykrumpet:
luigi in Super smash bros. He's been a joke character in nearly all the games (Yes, I know in melee he was an alright character because of his flaming B-up attack, but he's definitely near the lowest on the tier still. He's even worse in brawl and the original. Worse, they run with the strange idea that Luigi is gay, and incorporate that stereotype of weakness into all his attacks. It's rather annoying.

He's actually middle tier.

He's better then the following (According to tier list):

24. Peach
25. Ike
26. Sheik
27. Lucas
28. Ness
29. Mario
30. Pokémon Trainer
31. Samus
32. Yoshi
33. Sonic
34. Jigglypuff
35. Ganondorf
36. Link
37. Captain Falcon

Marth in SSBB...who cares? Also, why have three characters from Starfox with exactly the same final smash?

you sir, need to be burned at the stake you dirty filesharing communist! Marth was the best character in Melee, and even when he got gimped, he is one of the best characters in Brawl! SCUM!
SCUUUUUM!

Ahem. as you can see i love marth. I used to be unbeatable with him in melee, and im damn near unbeatable around my friends with him in brawl. I'll tell you who i am very much beatable with though...Bowser. I never really used him but my GOD did they gimp him something heinous in brawl. he is just such a bad character now.

crap, was he a starter character? because if he was, then ill go for Roy. He was just a fail version of marth in melee. How can you be stronger than marth, but slower and lighter?

Well, that was...harsh.

Oddjob.

Every time me and my little brother would play GoldenEye 007, i would have to beat him around the face with a controller during character selection, for, surprise surprise, choosing Oddjob.

Oddjob a midget? He's supposed to be huge.

hmm, I don't remember what his actually name was. There was the Berseker and some, like thief/bomber combination. But it was definitely two. I don't own a new console, only my Original xbox.

It's there for comic relief, man.

The three unlockable characters are Beserker, Assassin, and Lizardman. Beserker and Assassin could be considered "mimics" of Astaroth and Yunsung.

EDIT

Damn! Graustein beat me to the punch.

Thank you. I was just about to go on a small rant about how gaming sequels are likely to carry over some things from previous games, and how SC3 doesn't play on an original Xbox.

That's the "official" tier list. The bottom half. Meta Knight is so far up the top there's talk of banning him in official tournaments.
What should be noted is that the Tiers apply only to the very highest level of play. We're talking insane world championships here, the absolute most that can be squeezed out of these fighters. In the real world, tiers are nonexistant.

They're not "bad" per se, it's just that the world's best Ike user doesn't stand a chance against the world's best Meta Knight user, assuming they're as good as they can be.
Obviously there's no way to conclusively prove that, but given the trends in tournaments and the professional opinions of the best players, that's what the tier is.

I'll say it again, this does NOT mean they're bad characters overall. The tier ONLY applies at the highest, most frantic metagame. Below those upper echelons of absolute skill, all bets are off.

Of course, theres no defence. Side B over to them, B 5 times, then Up B for an easy knockout.

Well, he said Meta Knight was one of the best characters.
and personally, I find Link, Ike and Capt. Falcon to be slow and honestly, not very strong to compensate.
by the way, arent we going a little off topic?
I found a lot of the clone characters in brawl to be meaningles to unlock, but at least they don't force you into using them (Much)

I see where you're coming from, but I still find it hard to believe that the best Yoshi player is better than the best Capt. Falcon player. I know he got nerfed in Brawl, but seriously?

Well... it's not QUITE like that. There's matchups to consider as well. I don't know about the HIGHEST level of play but at my level Ness destroys anything DK-sized or greater, yet most of them are higher than he on the list. Different matchups affect the tiers of course, but there'll still be phenomena like DK in Melee being a good match against Fox.
The tiers don't really say anything about any one matchup, they just give a general indication of how well you can expect a given character to do in a tournament, everything else being equal.

That aside, inorite? Lucas lower than Bowser... what gives?

It was "Streets of Rage 3" over here. We didn't have Ash but we did have Roo and Shiva. Shiva was freakin' awesome, apart from not being able to use weapons but still being able to pick them up if you stood on one and pressed "attack" by mistake (practically the only way you could realistically expect to die as Shiva was if you kept picking up and putting down a weapon accidentally) but Roo gets my vote for worst unlockable character anywhere. The only thing he could actually do was jump - his attacks were ridiculously low-ranged and low-powered.

I agree about Shiva, but it was called Streets of Rage 3 over here too in the UK. I just prefer the japanese version.

Unusable is definitly the worst unlockable feature. For that reason my vote is for Tekken 3 Dr. B.

GET UP. Good. What? No. GET UP. eurgh. Idiot.

At least he had decent theme music. But unusability is inexcusable, especially when you can be defeated by Pandad simply sitting on you.

The worst unlockable character ever was Boo in SSB for Gamecube. Seriously, it takes forever to get him and then he doesn't even really work once you have him.

please explain how in the hell you can get Boo in super smash bros.

indeed, I declare shenanigans on this post. Do we have a second?

anyway, I was disappointed with all the unlockable characters in Force Unleashed, though massacreing stormtroopers as a stormtrooper is hilarious.

Olimar from SSBB. i just don't like him. i not too bad with him, i can hold my own in a match but i dont think he a very character and his moves mostly suck

Olimar's a starting character :P
I've always found him to be extremely fun to play. Then again I'm drawn to the more unusual characters like Ness or Olimar.

He's a starter? shows how much attention i pay. Ness is good but i prefer Lucas. would it cause mayhem if i said i didn't like Sonic in it?

I'm torn between Ness and Lucas. I LOVED Ness in Melee, and he's changed quite a bit in Brawl. I mostly use Random :P
Nah, I don't get Sonic, but my friend is a beast with him.

It's distressing how good I got with Sonic the more I used him (and considering I only get to play Brawl at my friends' places). Like constant using and in 4 on 4 all items on sorta-deal. I used to have Link as my main, but when I play Brawl, it's pretty much Sonic as my main then Marth. Perhaps Link if I'm feeling like it. But they really slowed him down from the first game.

Are you kidding! Roo's charging super move where he does a nose-slide into a backspin does a ridiculous amount of damage (especially if they block first)! I think they may have toned it down in SoRIII It's similar to Max's charging thunder attack in SoRII. Shiva and Roo are almost polar opposites in that Shiva's standard attacks are powerful but his super moves are weak, whereas Roo's standard attacks aren't much but his supers lay down a world of hurt.
