Fable II. But only when i got to the ending and realised, hang about, wait a minute this wasn't what was promised at all.
FFVII. I normally love storyline heavy games, but this just didn't captivate me.
GTA Series. Weak storyline and just not my type of thing, extraordinarily overrated.

I think people has fun with it because you can be a rock star , and play the realy big songs with style without having to use loads of time to practice where to hold your hand when playing a certain note. I have fun with GH because i suck at playing the guitar in real life :P And im heavily into music , so its fun to play something wich you suck at in real life :)

Half Life was competent, but didn't really shine in my eyes. The story that you rant and rave about didn't even so much as tug at me, let alone pull me in. It was pretty easy to go 'oh look, somewhere nice. Horrible thing happening in 3...2...1' and I often found myself going 'why should I care again?' The only impetus I felt in Half Life 2 was when the police were chasing me, because I hadn't got a gun yet. That was it. I was just being walked from encounter to predicatable encounter and not being given the details I'd need to care about most of the stuff going on around me. A story would have to be fucking gold to get away with that and, if you're being honest, gold stories don't really happen in video games. Even games lauded for their stories (Bioshock, Mass Effect) have narratives that would be stale and predictable in any other media, such as movies or novels.

As a shooter, it was again competent but nothing to write home about. Gordon handled a little too leaden for his own good, the level design was frankly ridiculous ('I will put these explosive barrels by this rickety bridges support structure! This is a GOOD idea!') and the Gravity Gun got old when you ran out of buzz saws.

tl;dr everyone has an opinion, so stop acting like you're the only one who knows what they're talking about.

Halo - I played the first one on the PC and wondered what all the hype was about. The sequels didn't so much improve the gameplay so much as hide the flaws behind pretty graphics and college fratboys.

Final Fantasy VII is above average at best, and the reason i think so many people love it was because it was their first 'real' RPG. Which depresses me, since I found FFVIII to be superior in almost every way.

Half-Life 2 is a good game, but it's not as utterly fantastic as everybody says. I appreciate the graphics and I love the fact that the characters feel so real, but it's a very linear game and it never really thrills you the way you feel it should. Same goes for the Episodes.

Wrong again! I can't exactly say why Ocarina of Time was the best, but it is the only game that actually made me like the other characters besides the hero himself.

The hype for the first Halo came after it was released, the game was actually great!

I would say Kingdom of Hearts, Gears of War, Guitar Hero, Assassins Creed and WOW. I know WOW did try something different and was designed very well but the hype for that game went through the roof!

That's kind of where you're going wrong. If you're going to do it to Halo 3 you may as well do it to every other game ever made. If you consider TF2 without it's multiplayer aspect it's the worst game ever.

Halo is a decent experience but I do find it way overrated. It doesn't REALLY do anything special and I've never enjoyed the multiplayer all that much. This is very much a personal opinion however.

Calling something an opinion doesn't make it an opinion. "All Germans are Nazis" is a statement of fact, we all agree that statements of fact can be false.

hype =/= ratings, I think the hype is sort of cool (as it shows the influence of the gaming industry) and that the excellent ratings are deserved.

I would call Halo 3 worth it, and why the hell would anyone not include the multiplayer in a consideration of the game? The story is quite good, not as good as Half-Life 2 (never played Deus Ex) but good. Here's quite a bit on that subject. I will also say that I've played the Halo 3 campaign mode longer than I've played Mass Effect, and my Mass Effect playtime is 62 hours.

And I know someone who prefers the taste of Pepsi and has drank Coke (he even used to prefer it). I don't agree and make several jokes likening Pepsi to a satanic version of ambrosia around him but he still exists.

Thus I refute thee.

No, Halo 3 never announced itself as a multi-player game. Hence the campaign, the difficult setting, the plot et cetera. Does TF2 have all that?

As it stands Halo 3 is not a multi-player game.
It has both sides so it should focus on both. How a game like that reached 9.0 scores is beyond me, I'll even be fair, 5 points to the campaign and 5 points to the multi-player, that would leave it at around 7-7.5. Now I feel dirty for using numerical scores on a game.

The single player is essentially just an introduction to the concepts used in multiplayer. Your assumption that because it contains both means it has to concentrate on both equally is flawed. Quake 3's single player was atrocious but it was still there, does it make the game any less good? No not really.

I like in fallout 3 there was an aspect of survival in there, and for the begining a was afraid of going out at night and overrated for me is when reviews give a game ratings over what it acually is...get it "overrated" and GTA was good because i could shoot people in super real-o vision(the graphic i mean) could have been better though

The Halo games are neither godly or absolute shit. They aren't innovative, but they play well and alot of people find them entertaining, both in single- and multiplayer. They are better than most games out there, even most FPS games and if you like them: that's fine! If you don't: That's also fine, but you'd do us all a favour by not getting all christian on our asses and trying to convince everyone that they should only like what YOU like.

Perhaps if you said Super Smash Bros. Brawl or SSBB I would agree or disagree with you but as it is I've never heard of this game and politely demand explaination as to what it is.

world of warcraft. slog, pain, grind, more slog... etc. i just don't get it. and if somebody comments back telling me why it is 'ttly 4w35um', you are everything i hate about this game. too many rabid pre-teens yelling and posturing over the internet.

also, GTA IV was a disappointment to me. all the hype made me forget that it was just a game, and not the second coming.
