Amount of subscriptions will go up in times of economic downturn, so why would any smart MMO lower the cost? More people will start to look for cheaper entertainment and MMO's will fill that void.
I don't think subscriptions prices will drop. $15/month has become a proven model and though populations may decline, i doubt the price will.
Thanks just cleaned it up.
ya 15 bucks a month is a fairly cheap hobby so if anything they'll go up.
no, people I'd put good money on a majority of MMO players being teens with no taxes to pay and no worry about jobs, they will continue to Edit: dam he fixed the spelling there went my running gag.
Do you guys think that other MMO publishers will be skeptical to release a pay-to-play game when the economy or do you feel the essentially the entire industry is immune from such fears?
Sorry, Quickpaw beat you to it.
Do you think that the monthly subscription fees will go down if the economy takes a huge dive to keep their server populations up, or do you think that they will welcome the decline shut her down and if you're Blizzard roll in the pile of money. Do you think anything else may or may not happen if things keep going bad, will future MMO's like SW: Old Republic or Stargate Worlds will change their strategy by launch. I thought this to be interesting and would like to hear some opinions.
