The Companion Cube. | |
Captain Daitetsu's Death scene in SRW OG2, where he does not relinquish command even when mortally wounded, and uses the Wave Motion Cannon with compensators disabled to enable him to retreat. his Death and Funeral made it all the more sweeter when my new ship the Kurogane rammed a FUCKING DRILL into the Bow of the Shirogane which had shot down the Hagane and killed Daitetsu.
the robot from space siege
He shot your dog? What a bastard!
Roman from GTA IV, no seriously, I am quite aware how odd that is but when I was on my way to his wedding I got a sudden sense of dread that something bad was going to happen. I almost didn't go to the wedding because I was so sure something would happen.
The dog in the Bards tale. Oh, and my ghoul in Bloodlines. Poor gal. Oh, and most every companion in Arcanum, Fallout 1 (and some in 2) and Torment. You know, back when people wrote nice games, with nice characters, that weren't all about the cool factor.
That sounded really epic. But I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Playing GTA, I'll get attached to certain cars or, more likely, bikes. If they blow up, I'll reload a savegame just so I can keep it. That's about it though. Screw people, they always seem to annoy me one way or another.
I've been wondering about this one and usually it boils down to a "wow, they really killed him/her? Wasn't expecting that." Or "*Grin". I think the one that surprised me the most was Nei in Phantasy Star 2. Silver: Aside:
My beautiful Thanatos mech when it was ripped apart :( But I replaced it with a very expensive Fafnir in my depression, so all was good.
In Super Robot Wars Original Generation 2 (In English for the GBA) during one mission a former Ally Lee Linjun http://srwog.velv.net/char_images/lee.png betrays the Earth Federation and sides with the enemy, he then fires his impact cannons at one of your battle ships, The Haganehttp://srwog.velv.net/mecha_images/hagane.png Captain Daitetsu http://srwog.velv.net/char_images/daitetsu.png then orders all troops to retreat, despite being mortally wounded, using the Tronium cannon without the gravity breaks to pretty much shoot their way to safety. This is a man who supported your crew all through OG1 and most of OG2, he was a badass and his ship was awesome. So you can imagine how satisfying it was, when fighting the Shirogane http://srwog.velv.net/mecha_images/shirogane.png Lee's Ship, to finally kill him. Shirogane Attempts to Ram your new ship (being controlled by Daitetsu's former vide captain Tetsuya http://srwog.velv.net/char_images/tetsuya.png ) Your new ship is the Kurogane http://srwog.velv.net/mecha_images/kurogane.png Kurogane has a DRILL for a bow. As such the moron who tried to ram you got sliced in half like a knife through hot butter. TAKE THAT YOU SON OF A BITCH! THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR DICKING ME ABOUT IN THE EARLY GAME! As for what Super Robot Wars is? well the regular games is what you get if you put various mecha anime in a blender and then make a working (And Intriguing) story loaded with awesome. The Original Generation games, are what happens when you use the original plots in the regular games with the OG characters from them. From OGs a PS2 game unfortunately never released in English, maybe for fear of making to much money. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DtK1NlJn3A (Contains combat but not the scene and dialogue in question) The original GBA Version, Released in English, never got the recognition it deserved http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOBzZ8bha5w&feature=related The scene of Daitetsu's death in question, for OGs so again no English unfortunately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue1j52MeHD4
Dead Crew Member number 507 on the USG Ishimura in Dead Space. Oh how beautiful your maggot infested torso was... I got attached to my sis in Fable 2 after the perfect world.
aach I hated that part. | |
Lars Ulmat in guitar hero 3. I played the entire game with him, and when I found out they made him skinny in gh4, I almost cried.
Kate in GTA IV. I was cynically trying to sleep with to piss off Packie, ended up actually liking the character. Then (SPOILER) I went and choose the honourable ending to the game and WHAM. --- The crew of the Atlantis in Unreal 2. Then BAM, shot out of the sky my traitorous dick of a general.
Not me but I have a friend who once said about the half life 2 episodes: *cough episode 2 cough*. That was awkward...
hehehe, the same thing happened to me DART, but it was a lot more funny, because I married a dude, and he said He shot my husband. It took me a while to remember that I was in a homosexual relationship with the town man-whore, but I laughed, then was horrible disappointed in the ending.
Probably that bit at the end of HL2EP2 (yes, we all know what I'm on about). I was actually madly clicking away, trying to land a shot or something on the attacker...
The dog in Fable's awesome, to the point that most people I know who didn't pick the Needs of the Few ending (the one of the three that brings it back), feel like the soul of the game has drained out of it.
Attachment... attachment... Does losing the Uber gravity gun from HL2 count as a big loss?
Well, I got really attached to Agro in SotC. When he fell down that cliff, I was like "Oh you assholes did NOT just drop Agro off a cliff!" And when he showed back up at the end with a limp, I was like "Oh good, I didn't want to have to kill these developers." ALthough really, I felt a bit of an attachment to all the Colossi by the end.
I was attached to Luis Sera from Resident Evil 4, I thought that he was cool and I was pissed off I couldn't play as him or play him during those parts of the game where he wasn't around. Then he had to die in one of the worst ways.
Agro. Shadow of The Collusus. I loved that fella. I nearly cried. >.< Then I was happy again at the ending 8D And Raziel. Throughout the Soul Reaver series.
I got attached to the dog in Fable 2. I wasn't attached to Alyx in Half-Life 2, episode 2 had a happy moment near the beginning for me.
the first time my starter fainted in Pkemon Silver, I was shocked
There is no gravity gun. There is only The Claw.
They... they took my crowbar...
I was sad when he died. | |
Dogmeat in Fallout 1, he was such a brave fighter...
He represented what was good in all of us, then I shot both his legs off and curb stomped him... ahh the memories.
I do that too. In GTA4, when Bernie get's you that sports car from Bryce Dawkins, I drove carefully for the first time ever so I could get it to my safe house intact.
| |
i remember once in san andreas that i managed to find this reeeally sweet car, and after i painted it and stuff, some idiot ram's into my car on a highway, i end up flying down a rocky hill and right infront of a train going uber fast and i DIE. looked cool but i really loved that car...*sniff*
I did that so many times. And each time it died I cried NOOOO!

EDIT: Fable 2 spoiler
So, I was playing Fable 2. I had married Lady Grey, and she was pretty cool. Me and my dog would always visit her occasionally, giving her gifts and "Gifts". Then I rounded up the heroes and we met up on hero hill. Then, out of nowhere, Friggin' Lucien comes towards me, and tells me he just murdered my wife and daughter. THEN, THE MOFO SHOOTS MY DOG!!!
AAAGH! I was really attached to those things! Then, I Realized, I was attached....
What have you been very very very attached to?
