Have you a game, that when you play it, you dislike it with the utmost hatred. I have one of those, the only thing is, I can't stop playing it! Does anyone else have this problem? A game that you hate, but can't stop playing?

Why Did I just spend 3 hours on a game released 10 yrs ago?

I hated Oblivion almost immediately, but I kept playing because I been given such a good recommendation by a friend. I put myself though weeks of that game. Really, really didn't like it.

I forced my way through lost odyssey.

Even by JRPG standards, it's so bad. It's like someone distilled the worst of the worst out of every JRPG and stuck it on a disc. Playing through it is akin to having electrodes attached to your eyelids while gorillas with razor strap-ons have their way with your bodily orifices. But I was stupid enough to listen to someone's advice that branded the thing BEST GAME EVAR, so I forced myself to play through the thing, including the stupid downloadable expansion, so that I learn my lesson and never listen to other people's advice again

Gears of War. Just can't...look...away...

Drakengard. I hate the music, I hate the endless waves of increasingly cheap guys, I hate how the best magics are tied to the worst weapons, and the dragon fighting is so clunky and irritating. But the story is just so brutal and depressing. I want everyone to die, and they will! Hurray! Have to keep playing!

I'm playing a crappy flash chess game that doesn't even follow the rules of chess.
After that comes soul caliber. All I do is button mash but somehow I keep coming back to it.

Portal. I can't stand it, but I have to finish it. I find it kinda boring.

no, not Age of Conan, I mean the origional, Xbox360 Conan

This game has bugs, glitches, and horrible story/voice acting everywhere, combined with frustrating gameplay and copious amounts of Havok. And to top it off, I speak candidly when I saw there is a quick time event EVERY...OTHER...FREAKING...SECOND. It has so many QTE that it is absurd. I hate it so much. And yet, the little voice in me tells me to kill, kill, KILL! I mean... beat it anyways...yeah...

After cerain amount of time I realized at some point it was absolutelty grind-tacular, & I'm not saying I hate it, Just a certain dislike for it now

PS2 Game called Naval OPS Commander. Worst voice acting ever and bad graphics but I could not look away. Perhaps its because that is the genre of gaming that is most neglected and could be very well done if someone put some work into it. That genre being Ship to Ship naval combat games. It has a few gems floating in the sea of mire awful.

warcraft 3, mainly the DotA portion of that game. I hate it, but I still play the damn thing every once in a while, and even signed up for a blasted tournament in january... There is no end to my vice, it will consume me eventually.

Lol i know it's cool not to like JRPG's on escapist, but i like them a lot.

I do think that Lost odyssey and every other xbox 360 JRPG from square, is just third tier bottom of the barrel lowest common denominator crap that they are releasing for populace consumption, and its a damn shame (and i don't even own a 360 and think this).

Lost Odyssey was far better than any other 360 game I've played recently. o.O It was very well balanced. Reminded me a lot of Legend of Dragoon and old school FF. And if you can honestly think that either of those were bad, you're a total noob who has no taste in gaming. Yea, it's not everybody's type of game, but that doesn't mean it's not good. By far one of the best 360 games i've played so far imo.

Oblivion and Army of Two are utterly anathema to me. I didn't like either by the tenth minute, and they only got worse. At least I could stop Oblivion when it became too much; my idiot friend forced me to see Ao2 all the fucking way through because he just had to get the achievements for it.

before a few weeks ago I would also have said combat arms. so horrible, but I didn't have enough money for anything else at the time.

Games that occasionally scare the scones out of you.
I only have this problem when, on Call of Duty, I turn around when a German yelled behind me and starts melee attacking me. Seriously startles me right there.

This happens to me sometimes. Trying to make myself justify a purchase by forcing my like to it. I could return the game, but that's not always a viable option (geographical inconvenience).

Uh, I guess one time in Counter-Strike: Source I was on office in a little corner looking down the hallway. It was one on one, so everything was silent. Then, out of nowhere I turned around and there was a guy standing right behind me with an Ak and he blew me away. It scared the living crap out of me, as it did everyone else in the server.

Also, once on Left 4 Dead on the subway part on Expert, close to the end, when someone saw a witch, so everyone had to turn their flashlights off. One guy was dead, so it was up to me, a really good guy, and a noob. I walked up some stairs when I heard a Tank. I started freaking out and ran backwards and the pro was yelling at me, "Get a sniper! It's the best thing to kill a Tank!" So I ran backwards shooting at the tank with an M1A1 and he's yelling "NO! Use the sniper!!" Since the witch was around and it was dark, I could barely see where I was going. I turned around and saw the pro knocked to the ground by the Tank and his last words were, "No, don't worry about me, I'm dead. Go get the sniper rifle!" So, yeah, I high tailed it out of there. On my way down the hallway, the noob was standing there. I told him to move and he tried, but the Tank got him, too. I ran down that hallway as fast as I could and got the sniper rifle and started shooting. I was walking away as fast as I could, but the Tank was really fast. Eventually, I was backed into a corner and killed.
