TommyGun465: I read today that Valve´s L4D will be made for the PS3, but by *sigh* EA. Me, not having a 360 or a decent computer, am enthralled by this, but since Orange Box , I cant help but feel that this time wont be much different. Not that Orange Box was awfull, in fact, it was actually quite fun, besides the many slowdowns and the inferior game mechanics. Whats your view?

Neosage: Actually I was banned for a whole week just for saying CUN.......better not do it again.
Perhaps because it was directed as a person? I've used all kinds of swear words on The Escapist and have yet to be banned for it. AFAIK moderators don't ban for words alone, but, off course, if you're insulting someone, then they very much will.
yeah i kinda find this whole thing funny, everyone complains about ea and how much they suck. yet valve, whom everyone loves and thinks is great, teams up with ea and now they are stuck having to defend ea

Yeah, calling someone a cunt will get you banned... That's sort of... Bleeding obvious...

Who's defending EA? They're boxing and shipping (i.e.: Distributing) the damned thing. They don't have any connection to the actual programming. How's stating that as a fact defending EA?

Whilst the article I found, from Valve (I generally trust developers as opposed to Official magazines.) Is dated the 9th November 2008. I doubt Valve would deny it if it was coming to PS3. Particularly as the article suggest a Novemeber release, and unless it is released in the next few days, thats not going to happen.
I meant find a recent report that it is actually coming to PS3 from a respectable source.
Richard Groovy Pants: EA is just porting it, they can't change the product itself, so why would it suck? I think you people are exaggerating this.
Oh and Valve can't do it themselves because... *drum roll*
they're not distributors!!!
*pause for shock*.
They never handled ports before because they only program for PC's, hence why they contract EA to publish it, they could've easily contracted Ubisoft or any other company for the effect.
Didn't EA publish it for the Xbox as well? Did it suck?

Distributor(s)- Electronic Arts (retail)/ Steam (online)

Oh snap.
Err, no. You can clearly see in that extract that Certain Affinity ported it to the Xbox 360. EA had no involvement in anything but distribution.

Err, yes. That's what I said, EA just distributed the game for the Xbox. Thanks for backing up my point. That 'port' I used in the beginning is called 'an expression'.

If you port something poorly it can be glitchy as hell. If EA screws it up, which they probably will, it could be a bad game.
CoziestPigeon: The only reason it won't be as good as the other versions is because PS3 has less-than-awesome online play. And L4D is 100% about the multiplayer.
No, it will be fine online. We're talking about the orange box fiasco.
Besides, I know people bring up the whole microphone thing, but as long as 1 or 2 people have one, it's good enough.
Or maybe get a 360, they cost next to nothing now.
I best not, since in my country there is about one store shelve dedicated to the 360 games, while there are about 10 dedicated to PC.
What is this magical country?
Portugal. Its a small country in the Iberic Peninsula (next to spain). Most Americans dont know it, and most of the ones that do think of it as the ass of Spain.
"We'll personally do it if Left 4 Dead is Profitable" "We have no plans to port it to the Ps3" "We'll do it in 2009" "We won't do it" "Rabbit season" "Duck Season"
" In a recent interview at a Microsoft press event with WonderWall, Valve has acknowledged the rumors about Left 4 Dead. Valve's Chet Faliszek confirmed that the game will remain a PC and Xbox 360 exclusive despite all the rumors of a possible PS3 port.
"Many people say that they heard rumors that Left4Dead is coming to PS3, however despite telling them this isn't true they still don't believe us, what more can we say than it is not," said Faliszek.
Valve has not been too friendly with PS3 ports, EA had to purchase rights to do the Orange Box port for PS3 and had no server support from Valve for Team Fortress 2. So while the rumors will keep spreading, don't be expecting Left 4 Dead to be hitting PS3 anytime soon. I guess the game just cant compete with the heavy hitters like Resistance 2 this fall coming exclusive to PS3. Oh you silly fanboys. I find it funny how the writer says "Heavy Hitters" but only puts one game down. PSST, heavy hitters is plural my friend, meaning more than one.

Took me around 17 seconds.
4 to type 'Left 4 dead ps3' on Google and and another 13 to read the article.
