I see two sombreroed dudes on massive bikes racing away from a planet.

Except for in that last image there.

Instead of two ships from the Eve Online banner, I see two gigantic robotic sombrero-wearing cowboys flying to a rather uninviting planet.

That is a brilliant observation. I salute you, master of perception!

Absolutely hilarious. It's like the arrow in the FedEx logo - I will never un-see this.

Robot Cowboy Mexicans in Space: Revenge of the Giant Evil Boomerang

I would put that in spanish, but the only thing I know how to say in spanish is "I don't speak spanish."

Cowboy Mechas would make much more of an interesting game concept than spaceships again, just look at Jango from Burst Angel.

Didn't anyone ever see the old show Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs? Giant Cowboy Robot for the win! Also any show where the Alternate Dimensional Aliens invade purely because they're bored is AWESOME!

Haven't seen it, but another one to watch is Gun X Sword it's like a western with mechas.

Ah Gun X Sword... such an odd but interesting show. I love the twists on convention, the Cowboy main character uses a Sword that he draws like a gun and the Samurai rival uses guns that look like swords.

Metallic Mexican Mailmen from space? That'll get your post there by next Tuesday? Where do I sign up for this MMO?

But seriously, something about this idea really does make me want this game - and not just in an "omglol" sort of way.

This is getting a little out of hand... That doesn't mean it's any less awesome, though. The game would certainly be a breath of fresh air in the mirepits of the MMOG.

I can't believe the amount of near-offensive Mexican sterotypes casually posted in this thread.

It's still pretty funny, though.

I have this weird image of Clint Eastwood in a Mexican stand-off with one of these Cowboy SombreroBots. On the moon.

Now I've got Westworld in my head.

So seriously, who wouldn't want to play a massively multiplayer online space mech sim/shooter where all your weapons are gigantic neo-modernized caricatures of weapons from the Old West?

Something like this you mean?

Hah!

As long as it's made by Infinity Ward and not Treyarch, I'm sure many of the people here would just eat it up :D

Oh please, please. I just decided, this is all I want for Christmas. That'd be the best thing... ever. And I want the Spanish to be read in a monotone, like Lopez from RvB or something, because that's how I read all your Spanish text in my head. It made me smile.

Show that to anyone, they won't say "Oh yeah, that's an intergalactic starship!"
