The writing in the dreams were absolutely brilliant. Brought a tear to my eyes more than once.

Shadow of Memories was fantastic.

Definitely Majora's Mask, and most specifically, the Song of Healing from it.

yeah and the fact that you have to use is on that dancing dead guy to help him pass on in order to get that mask. :*(

Half-Life 2: Episode 1. "...now would be an excellent time for procreation!" Kleiner's awesome.

Episode 2's ending practically had me in tears.

Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. Characters were just so real.

Not so much to the heart but one game where I really felt bad for the main character was Dead Space with Isaac. Sure he had no emotions but that let me fill in the blanks when it came to his character. The only reason I felt so bad was how everything went from bad to worse. Murphy's Law has never been so prevalent in a game. I know it happens in other games but maybe just the fact something happened every single level intensified the feeling.

Freelancer is awesome. I was so into that game that i explored every system, even those unknown

Half Life, in the Office chapter. It was really sad for me to watch a bunch of poor scientists get massacred in a seemingly mundane office block.

Or recently, Fallout 3. It was somewhat poignant wandering into a supposed Raider outpost expecting a fight, yet only finding a dirty mattress and a metal box. It got me thinking; Who lived here? Why did they leave? Where are they now? That made me feel sad, coupled with Agatha's station in the background. I'm a wuss, I know, but both of these things sent both games straight into my top three list:

1. Half Life
2. Fallout 3
3. Monsters Inc Rome: Total War

Skies of Arcadia. Still my favorite game. I'm not a huge fan of JRPGs, but I can't help but love Skies of Arcadia to its fullest.

Kingdom Under Fire: Crusaders and KuF: Heroes.

Those games killed me. Great idea, but it was coupled with some of the worst camera angles I've ever had to put up with, and that's just one big problem.

Games that went to my heart? Zelda: Wind Waker and WoW

Shadow of the Colossus had me.

Morrowind GOTY edition. The game had everything I wanted in an rpg and then I found out about the cheat that increases your stats and bunnyhopped over mountains.

...Also Mario Sunshine really drew me in, it was just so coulorful and fun!

And Pokemon games. Yep.

Shadow of the Colossus: from the moment I looked upon the first Colossi, to the moment the final Colossi hit the ground, I was enthralled. I just sat there, looking starry-eyed at the credits rolling by; I hadn't gotten up a single time in the whole playthrough. Then, I did it all again.

That game may, very well, be the best experience I have ever had through a videogame. It's as close to art as this medium currently has come, hell, I would go so far as to call it Art. Plain and simple: Art.

I spent hours wandering around Cyrodill in Oblivion. I think I could still go for a couple of hours more.

Also, starting my third playthrough of HL2, as I was running away from Civil Protection in the fantastic opening levels, I was thinkng, "This is brilliant! It's flawless! How can bad games get made with stuff like this around?"

Such an upsetting story and it keeps surprising you.
First J-RPG i had ever played and i absolutely loved it.
It just kept slapping me in the face when i thought i had completed it.

Other than that; Killer seven.

Jak 3, Spyro the dragon, Medievil. all three of which sit proudly in my personal Best 7 Games EVAR!
I dont have a top ten cause its a bit cliche'd not because theres only seven games worthy of the title.

Fallout damn i played that game for like... a week with little sleep/food, was just that awesome.
of course Legend of Zelda: a link to the past was definately a sweet game too...

I would have to say Tales of Symphonia. I loved the characters and the story was great. Also, the multiplayer in it worked really well.

The first KH where Kairi and Sora are on that little spit of land, finally reunited, but suddenly things start going to hell and they break apart.

Sora: I'll find you!
Kairi: I know you will!
Me: *bawls* YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO THEM!

Also the ending scene of FFX where Yuna runs towards Tidus but he's already fading and so she runs right through him and collapses on the deck of the ship. That really got to me, as well as Auron walking off during Yuna's final Sending, while his theme plays and he fades away.

Lastly ... the last scene of FF9 where Zidane surprises Garnet by being the cloaked figure in the play. It was girly and probably seen from a mile away, but it made me tear up. I was so happy for them. XD;;

Like the Zora who was alive just to sing you the story. Yeah, I felt bad when I did that.

I have two.
The first one is Legacy of Kain, All of the series, but mostly Defiance.

The second one would have to be Vampires the masquerade - Bloodlines.
That game took me so deep I actually wanted to become a vampire.

Halo, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Marathon, Vice City, Saints Row, Fable I & II. Probably more if I go looking through my games pile. It doesn't take much for me to love a game.

Final Fantasy VII & Shenmue II

Kingdom Hearts...maybe Kingdom Hearts 2 aswell. It seems pretty obvious that any game of this style would be chosen, but meh, I like thinking in the box, it's safe and warm.
Also Halo CE and GTA3.

Aw man, when i played games on psp or ds in class last year that was really easy. . . until FF7 crisis core came along, and I blew my cover in class with a lone tear down my cheek, staring at the little but sad screen at my desk and blurting out passionately, "yes zach. . .Yes, you are a hero!"

Max Payne 2 and Shadow of the Colossus. Two very different games I know, but they're so good I feel like I'm cheating by submitting works of art instead of games. :P
