That would be an example of worst backward compatability. It requires quite a lot of effort to get old games working on a new OS. |

Argh. I really couldn't stand that game. I'm usually quite a big fan of JRPG's, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish that one, I really didn't like it very much :P To answer the question, I frequently play SSBM on the Wii, because its set up on a bigger television than the Gamecube that's in my room, and I'm too cheap to go and buy Brawl. Off topic, when a friend brought Brawl around we had fun with it, especially the final smashes, but we then followed it up with some classic SSBM and the pacing of the game is so much faster, it just feels 'right'. |

Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 795 Joined: 25 Oct 2008 | I did play through Paper Mario on the Wii a while back, and when I finally got my own Wii I decided to bring a couple of GCN games with me to my apartment, including Beyond Good & Evil, Eternal Darkness and Star Wars Rogue Leader. ...I ended up leaving my Gamecube controller with my brother, though, so I'll have to wait until he comes to visit this weekend. >_> But, hey, until then I have Resident Evil 4 Wii and a few Virtual Console titles, with more games currently somewhere in the postal system between Canada and Sweden. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 586 Joined: 1 Jun 2008 | I purchased some gamecube games when I first purchased my Wii. Back in 2006-7 the gamecube games were very cheap and easy to find. The game store down the street had an entire wall of them. It's a tad upsetting now that GC games are a wee bit harder to find and a ship more expensive in some cases. Then again, I am one of a handful that have never played the Gamecube. There were many games on it that I badly wanted to play. Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia, PaperMario: TYD, The first two Metroid Primes, one of the HarvestMoon games. The only game I regret buying for the GC was StarFox Adventures, but only because it was not a real Starfox game. My brother likes giving me GC games on the side. He handed me MGS 1 and 2, and Zelda: Windwaker. I think he's going to give me MGS3 for my birthday in a few days time, provided he can afford shipping. As someone stated already to the original poster, No More Heroes is something you should acquire. If you are getting it from a friend this holiday season, more power to you. It's a great game and is no longer in make due to a NMH 2 being made. That and RE4, you should purchase RE4... Have you played the Zelda games, Metroid Prime 3, or Okami yet? |

I played Metal Gear: The Twin Snakes (Had to play the whole series since MGS4 came with my PS3) Hmm... I guess that's about it, doesn't say much for the Wii, unfortunately. Still glad I own one, because I never bought a Gamecube |
