I got an achievment for scoring two own goals on fifa 08. Didn't get any gamerpoints from it though

FYI I am a Medic in TF2. Wasn't expecting that when I killed that spy with my bone saw.

I'd also like to point out that Super Smash Bros Melee had some unique awards that you could get; a definite precursor to XBL achievements. The game would log them and note the time and date when you earned each one. One was to play 4999 versus matches. You would get a notice that said "That's one penny of the retail price per match!" or something like that. There was also a per-match award called "Switzerland"; win the match without attacking and without taking any damage.

Defiant in Half Life 2. You basically go up to this cop in the beginning at the game who misses a trash can and his can falls to the ground. You're supposed to walk up to it, pick it up, and throw it in the can. I accidentally pressed the right trigger, hit the cop, and then *BLIP!* Achievement Unlocked! Defiant 5G! That was so fucking hilarious!

I haven't gotten that Zom-B-Q achievement in the Orange Box because it keeps resetting back to zero every time I get around six zombies. Damnit!

Consciencesous objector in Castle Crashers, you have to play through the first three levels without attacking an enemy, I love it because of the Futurama reference.

How about the one from the darkness, for spending a couple minutes on the couch with your girlfriend?

Its called "Time you played a match?" and you gain it after scoring 20 goals in the arena (a mess around 1 on 1 mode where you can practise shooting.)

It was just so unexpected that I had to laugh.

You get it for bailing out of a flying helicopter and falling to your death.
I think its a reverence to the last Battlefield where you could actually use parachutes lol

All of them because they ruin gaming in my opinion. Sure they give you something else to strive for which is great but games become filled with achievement whores.

Going Down? you have to fal 65 yards without dying, lot harder to do on purpose than you would tthink. I ended up getting it when I went down a steep slope on a mount. I just let go of the mouse and keyboard and kciked back as I had thought death was inevitable. I land and all but 15 hp is taken out and I get the damn achiievment. Not really wierd, just was expecting death instead of an achievment. Did the same thing in COD4 with the falling ones. Both on mother fucking accident. I fall alot.

I love to jump out from high places in games.

I love those achievements that exist ONLY because you suck at the game... and those worth 0 points.

Another couple of World of Warcraft ones.

"Representin'" earned when you by your Guilds tabard obviously thought up when blizzard employees got bored and played a lot of GTA while listening to hardcore rap for a couple of days.

Next is when your fishing you have a chance to get a book snagged on your hook which will "teach you the ways of fishing passed down for generations" or in normal English to locate schools of fish on your minimap.

Getting the shock paddles in SR2, they were so pointless.

Probably from Half-Life 2: "Defiant" and "Submissive", awarded for either putting a dropped tin can into a trash can, or hitting a cop in the face with it.

Targeted Advertising for pinning a Combine to a Billboard (only happens in one place) and Flushed (Kill something with a toilet) were funny, but Flushed was irritating. There's a ton of toilets in the game, but only a couple you can pick up and fling.

While my wife was playing over the weekend, I unlocked the "Gotta Have More Cowbell" achievement in Lips. You have to hit the cowbell sound effect more than 50 times.

And I was just trying to mess her up :P

In the first level of Earthworm Jim when you launched the cow and it wasn't mentioned ever again throughout the game.

Getting the chain reaction one in GTA 4 by blowing up a bus in the middle of a busy intersection. Although on COD 4, I saw a claymore through two walls with bomb squad, and I got "How the...?!" by killing a guy with it as he charged past the claymore into the building. I was stuck sitting there going "What the f..." for like 20 minutes. My friends were going crazy.

I just unlocked one on Saints Row 2 for my character randomly singing alot to 'Take on me' on the radio.
