It's ok, better than Wii's and Xbox's version. But it needs alot more content. Like:

- Trenchcoats
- Boots
- Swords
- Gothic themed rooms
- Cyberpunk themed rooms
- and a way to summon fire in my hands

...then home would be ace!

Edit: Oh and some nice shades too.

The wii and 360 don't have a version they have mii's/avi's not an entire app where you get to control them while talkin to random members of the respectve online communities, this is unique to the ps3 and seems to be an alright idea but so far I don't like it the lack of things to do even in the beta annoy me and the few things you can do being occupied :S

So maybe the 360 is cheaper to buy that a ps3, but take into account everything you have to buy to make a 360 as functional ;Wifi adaptor (£60), 60gb HDD(£80 when i last checked) wireless control adapter (£20) plus XBL (£30-40 a year), add all this to the £130 for a basic 360, thats £330 right there, more than the ps3. (To quote the guy who said i dont back up my points; there you go)
As for the Live vs PSN debate, first off, live has no web browser, live is one large server, as opposed to the dedicated proxy servers for every ps3 game on psn (hence live's high failure rate), the fact you can use any regular bluetooth head set, the fact that home is better than what looks to me like a wii ripoff, and the fact psn is free, means i'm of the opinion that psn is superior. Sure live may be more polished, but for the money they get off it, and the fact its been out longer, it should be.

Wifi Adapter - Just set up a wireless hotspot next to your xbox and connect it via USB. Cheaper option.
Hard Drive - You don't need a huge one. Even if you put music onto it. You can keep the 20GB and just get a Memory card for it. Cheaper Option.
XBL - Don't get yearly subscriptions if you don't play every day. Get Monthy or Tri-monthy Subscriptions. Cheaper Option.

And Xbox have dropped their prices drastically over the last few months. (Mind you, this is from an Australian perspective)

I think you're just doing what ever other fanboy on this portal does. You try to start a flame war.

OT - As for Home, it just seems like a strange version of The Sims. Yeah, it'd be good to play with for a while, but it'd just get tiring after a while. Why not play FO3 for a while, and download Home?

Who said talk? I mean play against. The 60 player matches of Resistance 2.

Frankly, that sounds like a bullshit cluster fuck. I'd rather play it with 5-10 good players instead of 60 drop-kicks who think they're all the shiz and frag-tag everyone...

But that's just me. Don't know what you like, Dingo.

It's actually pretty well organized, every 5 players are assigned a squad and generally speaking if you're not in a standard deathmatch, then everything is pretty much organized chaos.

Logged on to home yesterday. Loads of people there.
I was the guy who walked up to everyone with the same outfit as me saying. "Nice Jumper".
Needs more stuff - I guess it's beta.

Got to play Chess with someone. Samus 86. Didn't become friends but it was a good, close game. (ahem) I won.

Had a good time.
Verdict - fun. Moreso when my friends turned up.

Needs a keyboard though.

it's ok if you want to do like a clanmeeting online or something. But then again, why not just meet eachother ingame? :).

So, no. It's not fun.

Can we try and stay on topic please people. All the OP asked is whether Home is fun or not. He did not ask whether it was better than Xbox Live, if PSN was better than Live or anything other than is Home fun.

If you don't have an answer to that question, which requires you to have actually used Home, then please refrain from posting in this thread.

For me it's the opposite really. Everyone's generally nice. Though for some reason, there's an epidemic of people saying "****o" alot. Those are the exact characters they use, they just keep on saying "****o". I'm assuming it's "fucko" or something, ut I have no idea why everyone says it...

That's hilarious. Sounds like 'HELL' is a censored word: HELL-O

Lmao! I wasn't the only one thinking 'fuck-o'. I'm glad someone has my train of thought.

Of the 63 people who said no, just out of curiosity, how many of you had used home at the time, if at all.

Just wondering.

I still say it's fun, since this topics no doubt run out of reason I suggest you get a... I have no idea what it's called but it helps connect a lot of systems to a single channel, the name escapes me. But it saves having to Disconnect/Reconnect every time.

Cant answer because I havent tried it, but it doesnt look very appealing to me. The only useful thing I can imagine using it for is gathering people together to play games.

Ahh finally.

All prices from the same shop, the one I work in.

So maybe the 360 is cheaper to buy that a ps3, but take into account everything you have to buy to make a 360 as functional ;Wifi adaptor (£60), You do not need this and I would advise people to stick with wired.

60gb HDD(£80 when i last checked) Whoa, that there would be a rip off if it were true, 120GB HDD for £69.99 (or £99.99 if the price goes back up.

wireless control adapter (£20)Never heard of it, even Google hadn't so you don't need it.

plus XBL (£30-40 a year)Just stay on the free silver account then...,

add all this to the £130 for a basic 360£99.99 for an arcade.,

thats £330 right thereWell to get it to work you only need to pay £99.99, but lets go with "peak performance"
Console = 99.99
120 GB HDD = 69.99
First years live = 40

£209.98

Two extra years of live just for the hell of it. = £80

£289.98
, more than the ps3.Nope, £295.99 for the cheapest.

All prices from Gamestation (not the website)

And before I'm accused of fanboyness, I'd just like to inform you all that I can finally afford a PS3 and will hopefully be getting one for myself this weekend.

Now, on to HOME...

I watched a friend of mine constantly try and fail to make it work for about an hour after which he decided to give up and shout at his PS3.

BAD PS3, BAD!!!

The server will be fixed soon enough.

I've been in and out of Home since once of the latter closed Beta's. Originally, it was pretty darn boring, but they've started to add stuff, but is by no means complete. You can certainly spend some time there, talking to folks, watching trailers, playing basic games against other people. The individual game spaces are cool also. Haven't been on in a bit actually, should probably go check it out and see what else is new.

constantly downloading new area's is a choir, and so I never bother with it - even if they release new and interesting stuff I won't ever find out what it is cause I get bored downloading it to be honest.

Furthermore, they still haven't taken it out of the Beta stage, meaning very little furniture, free stuff, etc, which brings me to my next complaint - not enough freebies! Fair enough, the actual Home itself is free, but almost everything else you have to pay for. Which really isn't fun if I'm honest.

Overall I really don't like it. Its boring, a bit pointless, and the only use I found for it was to thrash people at chess. (Honestly, with a community full of nerds I thought I'd find some competition)

Home is something you may like if you try it.

If someone tells you not to try it because they don't like it and it's a Second Life ripoff (like I haven't heard that before), they're a bigoted person who should really stop being close minded.

And if you think I'm being too harsh, then please do enlighten me as to why you shouldn't give it one try.

Home's mildly entertaining. Mostly because of the bowling alley.
