i am sorry but snake is dead now....in MGS 4 he is in a damn zimmer frame and he still survives being shot by metal gears..........how is that even possible. i am currently playing MGS 3 and i find it hard coz the first bit is just a training mission like it was for raiden in MGS 2. i cant take snake serious anymore due to MGS4.
hate me if u want but free country (apparently)

Mary Kate from Mary Kate and Ashley adventures... okay it's obvious it's a joke but I still deserve some kind of punishment for it. Hope you guys don't use those big whip on the wall...

Anywho, if i had to choose it'd be that character I created in Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, his name was "Disco Bitch", a midget with a massive afro. His finisher was 10 successive punches to the groin. Was almost an instant K.O.

A real video game character that I love would be Scorpio from MK, or Jansen from Lost Odyssey. He was the only character I liked in the game, well Kaim in the written parts because he wasn't a brooding asshole. And Sarah cause she had showed some pretty nice cleavage. Something about librarian girls that make me go HOWWWWWWLLL

the Search button has been mentioned.

As I'm sure the difference between best / favorite pointed out.

How much this thread is loved here? Has this been mentioned yet?
Maybe the mods have just given up on them.

Kukul:
Max Payne. from the original game (he sucked in MP2)

He is the only game character with a real personality so far.

Haha, well I actually think they were both fairly badass but whatever.

You all seem to be forgetting Klonoa though for some reason, probably the most adorable creation ever in videogame story telling.

Andrew Ryan from Bioshock.

His character is pure genius. He is imposing and unpredictable. His unorthodox attitudes towards society are frightening yet undeniably coherent and logical in their own way. He presents himself as a composed and dignified man, you can almost see his Machiavellian calculations in his eyes as he addresses you. He has a callous disregard for the lives of those who oppose him, he manipulates his followers and and will willing sacrifice them on a whim. He is wholly unpredictable and you can't help but feel his sorrow as his personal utopia has collapsed around him.

Ganondorf in Wind Waker is amazing. Most of the way through he's typical Ganon; "muhahahahaha must get Triforce", but the monologue he gives just before you fight him actually gives him character and almost makes you feel sorry for him. It's great. And then his last line in the game... amazing (I'm not putting it in here because I don't know how to do that spoiler thing).

Minsc from Baldurs Gate, end of discussion.

If you think otherwise then say so, but pretend I keep turning off your internet before you get to post.

Sergeant Johnson or Master Chief from Halo, definitely. Their banter is just brilliant:
"For a brick, he flew pretty good!"
and: "Dear Humanity, we regret being alien b@st@rds, we regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret, that the Corps, just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!"
Mario and Sonic were classic too, but getting a bit old and rehashed (e.g. most of Sonic Unleashed is a reworking of Sonic Heroes for the PS2), and Crash Bandicoot is just awesome :D

Sephiroth gets my vote though, and Cloud, for their ubercoolness :) I mean, a sword that always kills like as soon as it touches you, that has to be doing something right (or wrong, depending on your point of view...)

I think everyone is gonna hate my characters, but oh well.

Scorpion from MK: The fact that a character this well developed came from a fighting game is just illogical. Scorpion is awesome on so many levels.

Aerith from FFVII:. I like her because she doesn't fall into the standard trap of gaming girls. She's not a Lara and she's not Peach. She has her Peach moments, but unlike Peach level characters she actually evolves throughout her story into something meaningful.

Tommy Vercetti from Vice City: Ray Liotta's voice acting was dead-on. And what could have been a crappy two-bit character was a made into a highly enjoyable anti-hero.

Pac-Man: Simply for the nostalgia factor. Pac-Man was the first game I ever really glommed on to.

I think that's it, I don't think I've ever really given a rat's ass about any other characters. Maybe a bit of a rat's ass, but not enough to list them here.

I would have to say It`s got to be a character that does`nt talk because a character that does will inevitably say something that pisses you off

so it`s either- link

Naija comes into mind (Aquaria, self explainatory).
Alyx Vance too.
Link, all sidekicks (excluding Tatl, LoZ:MM) included.
Anyone from Golden Sun.
The Team (You know who!).
Abbadon (Guild Wars).
Atlas and Andrew Ryan.
And so on.

GAH! How has no one mentioned HK-47 yet? He's perhaps the most enjoyable evil NPC sidekick ever. I like Cortez in Timesplitters 3.

Either Phoenix Wright, or Reaver. Why Reaver?
STEPHEN FRY.
Possibly the greatest man ever is his voice actor.
