I was a little bored playing CoD4, I know surprising, but I still love that game. So I was playing domination on Shipment (Very small map for those of you who don't know). Being bored I decided to use night-vision, and a pistol. Somehow I managed to get the most kills, least amount of deaths, and the most points from captures.

I love reading this thread.

My favourite kill was on CodWaw when I knifed a sniper, he dropped a grenade as he died which I then threw away and it landed on him just as he respawned.

There was a reasonably popular HL2 mod called Plan of Attack. It was like Day of Defeat crossed with Counter-Strike - you used modern weapons and equipment and different classes to capture various points across the map, earning XP and/or money. One of the classes, the Ranger, was faster than all the others (at the cost of less health), and if you were quick enough and levelled-up enough on some maps you could reach the other team's base just as they were leaving (defence had a 30 second headstart). Most maps had three different paths to take, and of course the instinct of teams is to stick together, so if you were really lucky you could go through the base and catch up to the rear of the other team rather than meeting them head-on. Now, in this particular mod you could also buy RPGs. I think you see where I'm going here... needless to say this "strategy" often provoked an onslaught of furious text chat.

Richard Groovy Pants:

Albeit the only RTS I'm playing at the moment is Dawn of War: Soulstorm and it's a little difficult to rush in the beginning but still possible. A rush of cultists, Sluga Boyz, or Guardsmen is just fun and oh so pant wetting.

Don't forget scout rush. :P Now that is ridiculous 80 invisable scouts equipped with sniper rifles.

The strangest strategy I've seen would be when someone rushed with an armed grenade in to enemy fire in CoD4. He managed to get a 3-1 KDR with it before he was kicked.(the admin didn't like it, thought it was martyrdom)

There's a challenge for that on the 360 called "Misery Loves Company".

Those fucking random-grenade throwers on CoD4. You know, the ones who just spam as many grenades over walls and hope for the best. Well, the best is certainly what they get against me, every time I die just about the killcam reveals yet another random grenade flung across the level only to land at my feet. By rights, this strategy shouldn't be effective, because the odds of someone getting a hit are pretty slim, but it seems to happen to me all the time.

Ion Cannon turret spamming on Homeworld 2. I only did it once, and it made we feel dirty and used so I shelved that strategy. I got frustrated because I had no idea how people were getting battlecruisers out so fast! I would just barely have my shipyard and there BC would hyperspace in so I would Selfdistruct everything and type YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!!!

Every now and again on Metal Gear online, I'll get bored and charge straight across the map, shooting any enemy I see. So far I've gotten at least 5 kills every time.
