In any fighting game where you and your opponent have pretty much no life left and the opponent blocks your attack and thus knocks you out.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2 on hard mode has given me a number of "oh for f**k sake! That's so unfair!" moments.

Generally I'm quite calm on games, but one minute the battles are still too easy, then you get shoved on a fight where it is quite literally impossible to win. The first boss, whilst on level 22, I had to be level 30 to win on the scrape of my teeth because his attacks hit every character on every turn no matter where you were on the battle map.

Hmm......this happened to a friend of mine.

Fable II.

Sarah was playing, attempting to beat the game. She had spent better part of an hour scrounging up reknown so she could guide Hammer through The Ritual.

She enters the cave. Takes three steps.

The game crashes.

RELOAD.

Two steps.

Game crashes.

RELOAD.

Spins in a circle, walks backward one step. Then steps forward HALF a step.

Game crashes.

She quits.

I log on my account, (LordArionis if ya wanna join xD)

Game not only doesn't crash, but gives me DOUBLE exp for about 2 hours.

However, Fable II has not always been good to me.

I STILL cannot open my ancestor's chest even though I've made THREE new Heroes since then. And retried the "A Hero's Tale" story on Fable2.com

If you're a smoker, you can yank someone off the ladder across the roof to an instant death by standing on the opposite tower.

spore civilation stage, i finally get my 2nd city under control only to find out that its down to me and one other civilization, and the other guy has ALL the cities but the ones i have...

oh and a glitch in LoZ:TP that forced me to restart the game losing 3 or 4 hours of gameplay, at which time i put the game and havent played it since. that was 6 months ago.

X-com! My commander rank soldier in flying armor with 75% snap shot accuracy and 75 movement points is brought instantly under alien control, and proceeds to kill about 1\2 of my squad with a series of well-placed heavy plasma bolts on autofire.

Since a soldier that succumbs that easily to alien mind control isn't worth keeping, I shoot him in the head, finish the mission, and turn the game the hell off.

Yes, Left 4 Dead is really buggy. I walked around a corner, and there was a tank so I backed up and guess who spawned behind me? A boomer. Yay. So I get puked on and then the tank comes after me.

Oh, yeah, and whenever I get pinned down and Bill is the only one that can save me, he doesn't. He just sit's there picking his has right next to me. He has never once save me. I hate Bill with a passion.

I always go Bill. Louis has always given me pills. Sometimes I'm about to take them when he runs in and steals them from me, only to turn around and hand me them. I think they're secret sweet-hearts.

I never really noticed any other stupids in the AI though. Aside from being TOO nice sometimes. Giving me all the health-kits when I don't really need them. Waste (that's a pure waste by the way). Obscure internet cult joke.

But genuinely I got to a bit in Spore where my spaceship was brutal. Fully levelled up, nearly every upgrade and badge. I decided to go searching for the centre of the galaxy, and happened to run into a LOT of Grox near the centre. They didn't like me running around their part of town so they declared war on me and blew my ship up. Now they keep attacking my worlds. And I can't beat them quick enough because they have too much health. What's worse is because they live in the middle of the galaxy, they're far too far away for me to contact and bribe. So that game's screwed forever. After all that work...

While playing Assassin's Creed, I am jumping from boat to boat when all of a sudden, I jump into a boat with no bottom and drown.

Another time on Assassin's Creed, I jump from a building and the ground decides to disappear.

Lastly on Assassin's Creed, I just finish killing off a group of archer's for a mission that I was having trouble with. When AC decides to go from full screen to window mode and I accidentally click the close window button as the game was auto-saving.

The Director makes a lot of f**k you moments.

Namely, on the 4th level of No Mercy, a Tank knocked two of my allies off the ledge.

The F**k you moment is when I'm the only one left, I go to the safe room.... and there's a WITCH. IN THE SAFE ROOM!

playing a custom WCIII game and right as I was finishing off my enemy in an intense footmen frenzy, I get a critical error. What made it worse was that I was playing with friends >.<

My cousin, my friend and me were all playing Phantasy Star IV on the same Genesis and cart, another friend got pissed and kicked the desk it was on and the cart froze, we chased him out of the house in rage then sat back down to let me get my turn on it, turns out all 3 end game files were erased.

L4D Dead on Arrival on expert, the AI director was giving me and my friends a good butt r*p* u'd think after trying for 2 1/2 hours he'd let up on you but no, instead he stops using lube. After getting destroyed many times by tanks and hunters, right after exciting the safe house we get jumped by a smoker and a hunter, go around the corner to see another hunter and 2 boomers. We're already thinking "O f*ck* then of all things we hear a witch and shes standing in the middle of a path that we have to get through and the AI startles her. Then a tank comes from no where along with boomers. It wasnt very fun.

I was playing Fallout 3 and I was hiding behind I wall shooting at raiders using VATS and it said I had a 95% chance to hit the guy's head and so I clicked on his head twice, just to make sure, and when I clicked okay my character started firing into the wall, and when I exited VATS they all noticed me and murdered me.

Same battle glitched with 2 players, get this, we emptied all of our ammo on him and he didn't die, we tried like 50 times, we just literally could not kill him.

i was playing the first level "Semper Fi, and it took me a half hour to make it past the part where you detonate the truck, because every jap decided to throw their grenades at once

Biggest fuck you moment? 1st level of halo 3 on legendary difficulty. After repeatedly dieing over and over and over again, making tiny baby steps into the game, taking a whole day just to clear that one level, you take the rest of the game in 6 hours.

God i hate bungie for that.

Whats the point of having a safe room if there are freaking witches inside.
Had a similar time, my teammates and I were attacked by a tank, a boomer, and a small horde. And to top it all off I get knocked into a witch by the tank.

I just remembered another one- the parts in GoW where you had to split into two paths. On Insane, if either of you died, you had to restart the ENTIRE THING!

The first time me and a friend played on co-op on hardcore, it took us more than two hours to beat him. Then we go into Insane, and the first headshot killed him. I still have no idea.

But back on topic, Puzzle Quest has given me more FU moments than any other. I was sieging a city and we were both down to 30 or so health, when suddenly it gets 10 or so 4 of a kinds in a row, and a bunch of skulls dropping conveniently into place. The computer's luck is way too good in that game.

The part before that with that ambush was a real bitch for me. After many failed attempts I succeed, only for a Jap to jump out from behind a log and lay bullets into me. I can't even beat the levels after Vandetta. Everyone shot to your body was headshots, plus all the grenades. I literally stood in the one place and had 4 grenades thrown at me.
I threw one back, another one would hit me, threw it back, another one hits me...

Any Final Fantasy game where an enemy decides to use confuse repeatedly on your best characters untill you run out of smelling salts and then you just get rap** by it...

Also in FFX accidentaly finding your first Dark Aeon... good times, good times

Let me dig deep and find my biggest Fuck You moments in gaming.

- Gears of War - The parts where you and Dom have to split up. Even more infuriating with 2 players, because one Lambent Wretch/Torque Bow/Grenade will kill you instantly and force you to start the section again.

- Call of Duty: World at War - Idiot Americans and grenade-spamming Japanese makes for one unhappy gamer.

- Rainbow Six: Vegas - If you get shot, your vision horribly distorts and it's almost impossible to see for a few seconds, pretty much making death a guarantee.

- Mario Kart Wii - Item spamming by the CPUs. I put the disc in, and in no less then 15 minutes I took out the disc, never to be played again.

- Left 4 Dead - The part in the Death Toll campaign where you get to the old church. After the crescendo moment, you open the safe room door and the guy inside has turned into a special zombie. The first time I played (On Hard), he was a Tank and proceeded to ompletely obliterated my team in the tiny house. And the A.I survivors are always alerting Witches.

- Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity - High Sea Hijinks. You get a save point outside a tanker ship, then go inside. Make your way through a ship, beat a boss, run towards the screen from a hungy walrus, and then beat another boss. This is by far the hardest section of a video game I have ever played, I never got past it.

I was running a pretty simple looking lvl2 mission in EVE last night when I get ambushed by 4 frigates. I'm in a battlecruiser so I'm like "whatever". Except all 4 had blasters and two of the 4 where jamming my propulsion to less than 20m/s. Okay, I've...been through worse. Except all the frigates are going about 900m/s and are only about 1km away (blasters) orbiting and it's impossible to hit them due to the turret tracking.

They tore in to my hull within a minute before I realized my warp drive was unscrambled and I zipped out.

EDIT: They also had pretty ridiculous resistances as the medium drones I had trained on them did not even penetrate the shield of the first.
