I would have to say this has the best and most emotional story in ANY game I've ever played, but if you can't tolerate JRPG's your really missing out. |

You have to agree though - for an outsider, it's confusing as hell. Personally, I'll go with the clichéd genius of Max Payne, the simplicity of Half-Life, the epic scope of Knights of the Old Republic and the utter brilliance of System Shock 2. Sequels/Prequels not included, but that doesn't mean they aren't any good. |

Oh, I completely forgot Half-Life. Now there's an outstanding plot for ya' |

The character were great the locals were excellent and some of the themes in the game were very thought provoking. Tying in death with flowers? That's just messed up. And I loved it. |

I wouldn't know; I'm not an outsider ;). I understand though that diving headfirst into the middle of it all would be overwhelmingly confusing. EDIT: Quote didn't work :S EDIT 2: Fixed |

Star Wars Galaxies has an awesome storyline that complements the saga's canon. (Sarcasm is pretty thick here) |

I'd have to agree that the basic plot to them is great. However it's the complicated filler and poor writing that pollutes an otherwise fantastic story. |

I'm certain everyone has a plot in a videogame that they enjoy, and I'm curious to see what other people admired.
I personally enjoyed Bioshock's plot immensely. I know it has some basis from System Shock 2, but I haven't played it (I'd love to, though) and on its own, it's a truly compelling story, and the immersion is stellar. The characters and writing are top-notch, and put many games to shame.
