Rome: Total War and Medieval 2: Total war, they were never quite as good as Medieval 1, it might just be me but, I thought to lay a siege you needed a damned supply line! I also preferred the water to have regions

Seconding Deus Ex: IW, and MGS4.

Kingdom Hearts then Chain of Memories..... technically its a "midquel" but whatever the combat system was crap

To keep on-topic: I'd say Spyro the dragon 2 was pretty awful. Where did all those poor voice actors and dreadful cutscenes come from?

Mercenaries 2...terrible story, vehicle damage was even more spastic than the original, same with weapon accuracy...plus the fuel and shop systems were annoying and completely unnecessary. Oh and the voice acting was pretty bad.

COD3. not bad, Just didn't have the same magic as its predecessors.

a great thriller thats acctually scares the shit out of you great story,voice acting(script),great atmosphere and good combat(even tough the combat can get a bit boring towards the end)

condemned 2 a plot that ruins everything, terrible voice acting(listen to ethan in this one he sounds terrible), the script seems like it was writting by a five year old with no mystery or dramatic scenes in the game.

they did make the combat a bit better but that makes up for nothing

Yeah I played the demo and didn't have much fun, I didn't even think the combat was much improved..or rather I didn't like what it had become, I prefered the simple blunt attacks. ALso Greg Grunberg RULES! Apparently they didn't even want him back for 2, because "Ethan's gone in a different direction as a character" which apparently merits a whole new voice...one which isn't pure awesome ¬_¬

I really enjoyed Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube...

And then I played one of the other "Tales" games (I don't even remember which one) and it shat on my hopes and dreams for continuing playing this franchise. Of course it seems like this always happens when I find an RPG I like that comes out with a new volume.

I have a question about KOTOR 2. What was the deal with Darth Nihilus? He really had no storyline significance. Did the developers intend to do more stuff with him but just didn't have time?

KOTOR 2, FFX-2, and MGS 2/3/4 are all games that i believe never did justice to the originals

I'm going to be the second to say Prince of Persia, but only Warrior Within was inferior in my opinion. I felt that the Dark Prince of Two Thrones was an excellent addition, and helped make the plotline a little more mature. Also, the gameplay got better and better as the series went on, just the art & character design went to hell in the second.

Why the hell did it take Deus Ex so long to be mentioned?

Also, Metal Gear Solid 2 sucked massively, but 3 made up for it.

KotOR 2 wasn't as good as KotOR.

Final Fantasy X-2 was just....god awful.

UT3 was decent but no UT99.

Doom 3 was meh.

Kingdom Hearts 2 totally killed the awesome level design of the first one.

Supposedly The game would have alot more light/dark decisions before it got rushed out... and idk if Darth Nihilius got his story plotline cut but,... you have to admit its a sweet mask

agreed, Naughty Dog did CTR aswell before handing it over and effectively killing my childhood, the 3 spyro games (and 4 crash games) sit proudly in my top games ever (i think we may have nostalgia to thank for that)

No. Resistance 1 was good, but Resistance 2 was a vast improvement on the game from every aspect.

What the smarter guy said. Also, that they are basically the game is the reason I list it as a lousy sequel, since the gameply is near identical to Gears 1, with lousier story, gameplay and characters. SO it would count as a "lousy sequel" then.

I've been scratching my head over this and I honestly can't think of anything that's superior in the first Gears of War aside from the network code hiccups that I'm sure weren't there in the first game.

Devil May Cry 2 was a decent action game, but when compared to Devil May Cry, it's horrible.

No. Resistance 1 was good, but Resistance 2 was a vast improvement on the game from every aspect.

It felt like it was missing something, they had tried to copy CoD with some aspects of the controls and done it really badly, the game felt far too military in comparison with the first, number 1 was more about the mystery of the Chimera than anything else, i disliked the vibrance of the colours and found myself playing it for the story alone, it lacks the replay value of the first and the new co op is ... well ... shite, id borrow it again probably but never make the purchase. Dont get me wrong it is a good game, but not nearly as fun for me as the first
