Press Junketeer Posts: 453 Joined: 18 Oct 2008 | Wouldn't you need to do 3 playthroughs to get all the karma acheivements? EDIT: Sorry, missed the "almost". |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2146 Joined: 6 Mar 2008 | I agree with you that the game seems half done. It was rushed out, certainly. I played it, found it mildly entertaining, finished it and moved on. There are much better games out there. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 368 Joined: 7 Sep 2008 | it is impossible to, in one day, have discoveraed EVERY location, finished EVERY quest and done ALL the achievements...and if you have...you have to play less a day |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1319 Joined: 28 Aug 2008 | You're crazy? Admitedly Oblivion has more to do, but the combat system in F3 is far superior. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 682 Joined: 19 Aug 2008 | Do you mean you played it all day and got almost everything, or you have 24 hours of playtime? There is definitely a difference, because I think you exaggerate, sir. |

I would like to point out I did say ALMOST all the achevements. The Karma Achevements being the ones excluded |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3954 Joined: 15 Jun 2008 | Are you just trolling for the sake of it? Fallout 3 is one of the biggest games this year. I honestly don't belive you got everything in a day. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 84 Joined: 31 Oct 2008 | Fallout three was one of the biggest games of the year BEFORE they released it, now its just a game that, while being interesting and well done, is short. And has a magnificently stupid storyline with an even worse ending. I liked it, until you get kicked in the family jewels by the utterly rubbish ending. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 977 Joined: 4 Oct 2007 | It took more than A day, but I wouldn't have minded seeing a few extra side quests. Then again I'd prefer being able to continue playing it post final event |

Too much information... far too much information. Anyway, I have to agree with K3v1n: There is physically no way you can do everything in 1 day; either in the sense of sunrise to sunset or 24 hours. |
Paperboy Posts: 49 Joined: 28 Jul 2008 | Sounds like you just farmed the achievements to me, pal. But if you really did finish 100 hours of content in a mere day, then I salute you. |

I am still working on Fallout 3 and thought it had plenty of content, but I do agree that Oblivion is FAR better. I think that Bethesda should have made a TES instead of picking up on a new liscence. While I applaud them for the atmosphere of the game and the boldness of picking up a fanfavorite for a new kind of adaption, I think they should stick to their roots. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2411 Joined: 20 Jul 2008 | I modded the game so it is ridiculously hard on very hard and I am playing a small guns character. Fun though as 50% of the time I have to run instead of just spamming stim packs. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1155 Joined: 7 Jul 2008 | The statement "This game feels half done" rings so very false when I'm not even done my first playthrough and have played almost 30 hours, and I think I've only done maybe 60% of all the quests I could feasibly do on this one playthrough |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-079ko59LQ&feature=related I found it by accident but this video shows you where you can find it. On topic: I needed about 50 hours to finish the game. I don't know how you got everything in one day. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 709 Joined: 7 Nov 2007 | This is clearly a troll. Even if you have all the achievements (and I'd want a link to your gamertag before believing that), there's plenty to do in the game that isn't linked to an achievement. You didn't sit down with this game and complete for first playthrough discovering everything in one day - even if you had a walkthrough (which frankly doesn't count as completingi t yourself, does it?), it's not possible to do it in that amount of time. Did you hack every computer? Did you pick every lock? Did you activate the orbital weapons platform? Did you launch the ICBM and find the T-51b power armour or did you give the keys to Crowley? Did you disarm the nuke or did you destroy Megaton? Did you help the ghouls take Tenpenny tower or did you clear them out of the tunnels? Did you sabotage the water systems to drive everyone out of Vault 101 or hand control of the vault to the rebels? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1234 Joined: 9 Sep 2008 | I know where to find it and how , but I don't know the specific locations. So I'm going through the thing, exploring and enjoying the experience. That's how I'm lengthening the gameplay. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2094 Joined: 14 Jun 2008 | Although I don't think you can do it all in one day, Fallout does seem incredibly short. I've done all the quests and finished the main quest. Wanna know how long it took me to do that in Morrowind? I don't know either I'm still not done yet. Don't get me wrong I love fallout its just that I expected more of it. I tried scouring the wasteland look for giant mobs of raiders to kill but I guess I've already killed every evil doer in the capital wasteland. BTW: Outlaw star is epic |
BANNED Posts: 1084 Joined: 29 Sep 2008 | As for the post... I do agree that their arent enough quests to keep you on for more than 4 weeks (as was the case with me). I found Oblivion, even without every DLC realesed for it, a much longer game. P.S. However, I enjoy playing Fallout 3 non the less. Orbital Weapons platform? ICBM? Where!? P.S. I can possibly make a modd where you can use the location to fire Ion Cannon strikes on anywhere on the map! P.S. Ion cannon's rule. User was banned for: Poll: Round 5 - Field of Four - (1) Turbine vs (1) Nintendo. (Permanent) |
Press Junketeer Posts: 498 Joined: 27 Apr 2008 | 4 weeks of wandering avoiding doing the main quests, still not reached the end as people tell me it's rubbish Im loathed to get there just yet. Built three characters the second one Ive played for the fifth week and my mechanic a further week. I am now having an enforced vacation from the wastes as my memory stick is full and Im too skint to pay 60 quid for a new hard drive having tried four times to pick up one cheap off ebay and getting ripped each time..... So I totally diagree about the lack of game, i occasionally play it just to walk listening to Galaxy as I love the games music. |

You don't actually get aboard the OWP, you only fire off its payload from one of the dishes dotted on the west north part of the map. It fires mini-nukes anyway and is not that impressive anyway. |
Muckraker Posts: 341 Joined: 25 Aug 2008 | I play it whenever I get bored of oblivion (which takes at least a week of solid playing, even w/o Knights of the Nine + Shivering Isles), get bored of it after a while, and go back to oblivion. Which is what I was hoping it would do for me. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 694 Joined: 22 Oct 2008 | there's now ay you could have discovered EVERYTHING. I read an interview with the guy who wrote the guide, which has EVERYTHING, and he said it took him more than 100 hours to play it and then write it, and this is a professional we're talking about here. If it took him 100 hours to do everything, there's no way it took you 24 hours to do everything. |

Nevertheless, it can be done. Launching the ICBM would also show he made it to the missile silo instead of giving Crowley the keys. Assuming he even went and got the keys in the first place. |

You can exploit the achievement system. You save just before the level up, get it as good, reload the save point, steal stuff until you hit neutral and level up, reload again and get to evil then level up the third time. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1231 Joined: 16 Dec 2008 | i agree with the quests thing, the storyline kind of sucked, theyre are not really that many ennemies i guess, oblivion was better except in this respect: GORE |
Muckraker Posts: 291 Joined: 3 Jan 2009 | I have proof that you havent. Have you discovered the alien pistol or Dogmeat or Abrahams Rifle? Have you discovered every location ingame? Like fable you have to immerse yourself in the world and not just do the story. But one thing that i wish was there was More interesting loot and dungeon crawling. For example you see a Science lab and after about an hour of trekking and fighting you come accross a awesome weapon or armor. I also feel like the survival part is a bit light and not hardcore like i wished. Like you have to eat and drink water to survive no matter your health. and Finally Taking away the drug names and replacing them with disney drugs is the stupidest thing i have ever heard. |

And I know there is a quest in Fallout where you kill tons of enemies, but that has a nice twist to it. |

Ok... I dont think anyone will agree with me on this, but I dont think there was enough to do in the game.
I have done, what I believe to be, every quest in the game. I have discovered evey location in the game, I have every weapon, and almost every achevement. The achevements I dont have require me to replay the game.
The game is really short, I did everything in a day of playing. Good and Evil are clearly defined. And there aren't enough quests and real decisions in the game to warrent my replaying the game.
The number of enemies in the game is rather small. The number of weapon variations in the game are even smaller. You cant go into most buildings either.
The game seems almost half done. Oblivion tops it, in my opinion, hands down. There was a lot more to do in it, and it has a lot higher replay value to me.
I'm just curious if anyone agrees with me.
Edit: I would like to point out I did say ALMOST all the achevements, the Karma ones being the ones Excluded... I would also like to say I played for a day, I.E. I woke up in the morining, sat my ass down and didnt get up till about the time I woke up the day previous.
Edit: When I say I have done everything, I don't mean I have Opened Every Lock, Hacked Every Computer, Or done every quest ending. But I have done each quest once, as I cannot bring myself to play through again.
Edit... Again: I am also aware that quest endings differ from eachother quite a bit, but the fact still remains that I dont have enough reason to care about the game, or anything in it, to actually warrent my going back and playing it when I can just as easily go on youtube and see a video of the other endings...
Edit: Yes, I am in some ways, an achevement whore. In the sence that I work to get all the achevements and work out from there... I found no real value to the game, in achevement whoreing or in any of the other various tasks there is to do... That includes the overall environment, the character models, the voice overs, the enemies, ect
*NOTE!!!! Don't get the impression I dislike Fallout's Graphics. They were amazing.
