for me is bioshock. i WANTED to like that game...played it for 4 hours and the most fun i had was setting people on fire and watching them do the "oh my god im on fire!" dance.
dynasty warriors 6.
sins of a solar empire. those of you who can get passed the tutorials in that game have my respect.
brute force
fable two. only thing i liked about fable 2 was owning pretty much all of albion
im sure there aremore i just cant think of anything else right now

Spore... It was fun but for some reason I never picked it up after the first day >>

Had that too. Perhaps, it's because the depth of the game wasn't deep, or even shallow, but totaly non-existent. Indeed quite fun, but I would expect something like that from a Indie game developer, not the SIM-god himself.

me three the biggest regret of last year for me

Mass Effect. It had a good sci-fi environment, cool lore, awesome graphics, lovable characters and a passable story, all of which are big pluses for me. But the vehicle sections were just so awful I couldn't play.

Any Final Fantasy game.
Everyone get all crazy about them! Whether it's the first one, the 6th one, the 3rd one, the 7th one, the 12th one...I just don't like any of them. They aren't fun to me.

Also, now that I think about it, nearly every JRPG I've ever played.
Pretentious story lines, crazy predictable characters, over emotional characters in times where it isn't warranted, boring story lines, awful dialogue, a 'no fun' approach to combat and gameplay...ugh. I understand some people love 'em, and that's fine. Not me though...not me.

agreed.

never got onto the mmorpg wave either, well i tried city of heroes, but mostly to fool around with the character creator, oh and to fly, not alot of games out there that allow you to fly

spore didn't thrill me

bioshock for some reason didn't hook me in

and the guitar hero fad and rythem games in general never appealed to me

the latest soul calibur, cant think of anymore right now

Supreme commander

I loved TA and supreme commander looked like that with better graphics, but the game just wasn't as enjoyable.

It definitely has to be WoW. I honestly cannot stand it. I tried so hard to give a 'fair' run, because a few of my friends play it,and i even got my character to lvl 35 but i just couldnt anymore. It was like playing an RPG (which i love) but with absolutely no story to keep you interested.

thought this was supposed to be about games that you SHOULD/WANTED to like and not just a general bitch about games you hate thread. seriously, way too many of you are just bitching in general, espically with the ff/jrpg thing (which is why im not going to go into my opinions on the subject even though theres a few specific people i want to make a rebuttal to).

anyway, first off is far cry 2. i was stoked about the game, open world do whatever you want to fps, and thats what i got, along with all the fustrating driving, repeitive boring quests and that damn respawning guards thing (they respawn once youve walked 10 feet away from the checkpoint). just wasant any fun in my opinion, just boring, repitive and monotanous.

fc2 is the only one in recent memory that fits the category really. anyway, to anyone whos never played half life, go get it. much better than hl2, espically in terms of combat. all i got atm.

Bioshock - Too easy
Fallout 3 - Too boring
Far Cry 2 - Good, but got bored
GTA IV - Tiresome
Assassins Creed - Kind of stopped playing
Call of Duty 5 - Wasn't as good as 4.
Red Alert 3 - Didn't have the magic of Generals (neither did 3 to be fair)
Spore - How did it take so long to make, it takes no time at all.
Crysis - Boring, and on one of the more difficult modes. Suit was retarded.
Tomb Raider Legend - Thumbs fell off
Race Driver Grid - Annoying
Stalker - Didn't get on with it at all.
Starcraft - In retrospect, i don't play RTS for story and i'd probably try online

You know, it's pretty much most games that have been released in the last few years.

I think that Far Cry 2 Sucked Super Mutant Bollucks Big Time (SSMBBT in short). It sounded really cool in reviews and one of my hamster looking mates said it was awesome. But when I bought it and played it, it was just so gay-E-fied by the game after 10 minutes of playing it. But all the elements of game-play should make it a good game. Why is it so crap?, WHYYYYYYYYY!?!?!?

For me its any MMO, I've tried World of Warcraft, Lord of The Rings Online, Guild Wars, and Age Of Conan but i never renew my subscription after it runs out the first or second time. I want to love them! I mean having a group of buddies take on a dungeon, kill an epic boss, and get sweet gear seems all well and good but i think its the time it takes to reach that point that does me in.

It's funny, I felt that way about medieval 2. I ADORE Rome : total war and was really, really disappointed by Medieval 2. It just didn't feel right.

And I would recommend trying Rome mate. I have a hard time believing you didn't enjoy it after a good go.

Star wars KOTOR. I just didnt get into it, even though it was a good game. Maybe it was because I got it so late (the 360 had been around for over a year then).

That's a game that in a 4 Player LAN game, we sorta managed to BSOD all 4 computers.

Fallout 3...I love the game but with so many continuity errors, a dreary setting, and no loot, the game was just really hard to stay with.

Everyone talked about how great Okami was. I bought it and played through most of it, but I just didn't think it was that revolutionary. I mean, it was good, but I didn't love it nearly as much as everyone else seemed to.

I'd well believe that mate. In a simple 1v1, you can get over 30,000 troops on one field. Even on today's beasts that would still chug to single figure fps.

A few people have said it already but Sins of the solar empire really disappointed me and I was really looking forward to it as well.

I really felt I should have been enjoying No More Heroes more than I did. I was a huge fan of Killer7 and was willing to forgive the mediocre gameplay for the extremely thought-provoking world it provided. I was expecting similar with No More Heroes, however I received argyably superior gameplay in a trade-off for a perhaps more shallow game world in terms of atmosphere.

Don't get me wrong I still really enjoyed it, it just felt like there was a spark when I played Killer7 that was missing with No More Heroes.

Scarily, that was before anyone had moved anything!

2 crashed loading, and mine was the last to crash.

Amazingly resource heavy.

true, even though a few FF's, like 7 and 9, have managed to immerse me into the plot and no matter how much I enjoy JRPGs it's a fact that they have very few likeable characters and particularly nowadays they only get into more and more depth of what seems like trivial matters

with perhaps the exception of Halo 2, which I enjoyed playing as a 15year-old, I agree with the while list

Over rated FPS mutliplayer games where the aim for everything is to kill anything that moves that isn't you.
There seems to be no thought put into the multiplayer, even in team matches you don't even have to worry about your team members, just don't shoot them and hope they are good.

This is why I like Valve, they put alot of thought into their multiplayer games, like Left4Dead and Team Fortress 2.

Any game that forces me to play with racist americans when I go online.

Try not to judge all of us just because a few of us (them) need to have nails shoved up their uretha. That's all I ask.
And, Halo, for me. I downloaded the demo, played it, but it was just...bleh. So boring. I literally could not have any fun with the game, at all.
And since we're commenting on JRPGs...I could never get into any of them. Turn-based combat is just horrid. It doesn't feel fun at ALL, and having to use a controller to select options? That's a bitch. (I played a few Final Fantasy games on my friends' Playstation 2. Hate controllers so much. No matter what genre, mouse/keyboard always works better. For me.)

Like I said, Any game that forces me to play with RACIST Americans.

The Witcher. Everyone says it's an awesome CRPG, pretty much everyone loves it, but it just feels so damn stupid, misogynistic, poorly written and boring that I can't seem to have fun with it.

Another game that annoys me is S.T.A.L.K.E.R., due to the fact that it's got a title that's INCREDIBLY ANNOYING to write, and to this... felling that something's not right. I mean, every single block of text from that game feels like a crappy translation, even though it's mostly correct and completely comprehensible. I can't quite explain this feeling that I get about this game, but I just can't seem to enjoy it.

Edit: I almost forgot, but Sins of a Solar Empire is an awesome game that I just can't seem to get hooked to.

Dead Space

I played this game expecting to be scared and I wasn't. Being suprised is the closest I ever came to actually fealing any fear. The game controls well and looks great, it has some interesting concepts and is very fun, but it never scared me in the least. This may have something to do with the fact that it's very predictable. By the 5th time that a seemingly dead enemy jumps up and tries to kill you, your kind of expecting it. And it happens a lot.

Wii: 3% great games
5% OK games
92% Horrible games.

I have to say, I agree with this entire list (except that I liked GTA 4, but that was the only one I liked.)

I only liked metal gear solid 1 and 4 which is way better than the rest. At least in mgs4, when you get caught, you don't have to put up with the same horrible shooting controls as the others. Probably the only game that ever exeeded my expectaitons.

Age of Conan, I really tried liking it, but it only lasted 1 month or so, too bad I had paid for a 3 month gamecard.

Got to agree with whoever said medieval total war over rome tw. Its not that im not interested in that time period because i am, but there was like 12 factions in M2TW and with all of them there was probably a grand total of4 different types of armies u cud have. Which meant it was literraly the SAME fights over and over again. Plus the battles, yeah they had fancy bloom and all but it was just a blur of grey, brown and grime that it all just lacked the spectacle of RTW, which i still play religeously lol

I know you did, but a lot of people just shrug and ignore that part.
When the rest of the world hates you, it's sort of hard not to be paranoid. :P
I apologize.
