I dunno, Steam has hosted a few of the biggest creepers I've met- though it is fun to mess with their minds. |

Also, I keep thinking of the combine, I see citadels everywhere and the usual greeting for any human is either "Stand back, citizen" or "Pick up that can". |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1170 Joined: 31 Aug 2008 | I suffer from the "find all the exits, sniper spots, and figure out the best plan of escape as well as how to protect the population of the restaurant/house/office/school." It got so weird among my friends and I that we would actually plot these things out together. Oh and another thing is that platformers have given me a sort of parkour sense where I always look for the safest yet quickest way to get through things. I also make references that I'm sure no one else will know e.g. "Don't worry, I know all my Roman Numerals; I play Final Fantasy." |

I make D&D references at school all the time around my friends and they all just kindof say,"Huh!?" |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1047 Joined: 29 Aug 2008 | I once played Mega Man for so long, that my body instinctively attempted to enact each of the moves I remembered to get out of danger. As well as my head was filled with that game's sounds, for half a week. I still feel scars. Especially the ones from one that guy broke my arm when I raised it up and pointed at him, making Mega-gunshot sounds. I suppose i'd be offended too, but I wouldn't be that drunk, and i'd have more teeth, Ha! |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 755 Joined: 25 Mar 2008 | Was playing through the Brothers In Arms games, over 2 years ago. When we went paintballing on a class trip, I took out over half of the other team on my own, because I was simply using the 4 F's (Find them, Fix them, Flank them, Finish them), something you really need to use in BiA. I 'died' in the first round by running out of ammo (only had 20 shots or something -.-) After that one round, the entire opposite team always kept going after me first, though. |

Muckraker Posts: 240 Joined: 29 Mar 2008 | Okay lets see. Well after my Oblivion addiction I was convinced and still am on multiple occaisons that I can simply fast travel places and bypass the bus entirely, this gets bad when your in a hurry but in bed and not all that logical. Thinking I have spells is always a pain in the arse sometimes, my brain chimes in and tells me to open my spell list. A couple of dazed seconds later Im standing in the middle of a busy road looking bemused. I have to play by the laws of the cars, where cars are evil... its weird, I can only stand on certain things when walking and can often be seen leaping onto a wall to avoid the invisible lasers coming out of car wheels. Its fun, but can be inconvient. "The Game" (Sorry) actually makes me sad when I lose now, and I take it completely seriously (I cant help it!). Thanks to games I dont think much of great heigh and often am convinced with a bit of effort I can easy scale a building. Sword play and bow use is clearly simple and anyone who says otherwise just hasnt been hitting enough goblins. To make money in the real world I can simply loot bodies and sell random objects to te news agents. Because they wouldnt look at me funny. Especially since I just offed someone outside the shop and came wandering in with there belongings attempting to barter in exhange for health potions and freddos. I have on occaison believed entirely the money I have in a game in the money I have in RL. Always ends up in dissapointment. Obviously running doesnt tire you, in fact, it makes you less tired just slowly! Also you level up and one day can run across water. When I enter a building I sometimes wonder why it loaded so fast. Social interaction can vary depending what mood Im in, and at worst I simply cant understand why people dont respond to simple requests for beds. Bloody idiots. ALL wounds and ailments can be healed by water and sleep. Life requires little effort on my part and theres no way I cant succeed. I should be doing a mission / quest at all times (to simplify things in my life I just accept this now and set things in my brain up into a orderly series of quests). Erm... probably alot more :) RTS' oh boy, now theres some psychological damage. Taking over the world. Bah 10 minutes tops. :P Edit: Also like many people here I crave a Zombie apocolypse, guns, ammo and food. What a life... the fall of society and humanity. Yays XD |

I too am a victim of Quick save syndrome.
F.E.A.R Extarction Point did that for me.
Same here, except I see it as a Tony Hawk-style Skate boarding game.
Ah, anyone ever told you that you have that weird combination of insanity and persistence that makes you hilarious? |

Paperboy Posts: 45 Joined: 4 Jan 2009 | Thanks to Oblivion, I think I can run places, no matter how far, and never get tired. Thanks to a certain Valve game, a crowbar is not a tool, its a weapon, and when someone actually uses one to crack open a box, I wonder what the hell he's doing. Bioshock taught me that the same thing goes for wrenches.. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 474 Joined: 2 Jul 2008 | CoD 4/5 now i reach for a knife whenever dogs come near me. Though i never was a dog person to begin with. Mirrors edge, i now find myself thinking "Well if i ran up that wall i could kick off grab that ledge and climb up there." it doesn't work so well in practise. Also through playing a mix of zombie games me and two friends composed an entire scheme for "in case of zombie invasion." |

One time, after playing Max Payne until about 3 AM and dying a whole bunch and quick saved/loaded. Then next morning I had to drive to school drowsy and I had to battle the urge to just let myself slip of the road, knowing that I couldn't just reload for the last intersection. Also I think my new favorite beverage is Nuka-Cola, and I don't think I will ever be able to picture Freddy Krueger without a Deathclaw Gauntlet on ever again. Oh, and the only proper use for a Crowbar it to kill headcrabs, zombies, or headcrab zombies. |

No. They did, however, tell me to pick up that can, which I did, stand back, which I also did, and they organised an intervention to stop me from beating people with stun-sticks, which I didn't quite understand. |

I'm not alone! I swear, either I find travelling boring (I do it on the train as well), or I have ADD, or I play too many video games. Probably some combination of the three...
