Either its constantly 'generic scream 1' or 'wow you're a hero' drilling into my brain constantly... actually i take that back. Assassin's creed. Just to refresh some memories for you. "NO! The main character is fine but I absolutely cannot stand the whiney sound enemies make when they die. A really nasal "AAUUUUUUGGGGHHH :(" |

To be honest Street Fighter the Movie had pretty weak voice acting, along with it's pretty weak acting in general. |

Dude totally, I also thought it was funny when Ken would say "Fireball" while Ryu would say "Haduken" And everyone was very stiff. Then again the game was made by Capcom USA. Nothing beats the real thing from Japan. |

Muckraker Posts: 294 Joined: 20 Aug 2008 | What was the name of that game where the publisher hired his kids/relatives to do the American dub? Oh dear someone, that was far, FAR worse than just having subtitles. (I'm happy that I didn't have to play it, but Youtube showed me some choice examples.) I just remembered that about ALL lightgun arcade games (House of the Dead, Time Crisis, Silent Scope) have atrocious voicing as well, despite otherwise high production values. More or less the aural equivalent of "A winner is you!"... |

That doesn't make bad voice acting, that makes a lack of voice actors... that's too different complaints. Two Worlds from what I understand has terrible voice acting. |

Tobey Maguire in anythin to do with Spider-Man, ever. Worst casting ever!!! |

As much as I love the game, it's true. The accents in that part of the game, ar every, very obviously faked, and very poorly at that. The rest of the game's voice-acting is awesome, though.
The voice-acting isn't that bad (well, some of it is), but it's mostly because they had one actor per gender of each race (actually, I think all the different elves had the same two actors), and pretty much no unique NPC voices except for the two Septim characters. It was probably a combination of a limited budget and limited time. Before Oblivion came out, Bethesda were not very well known and were not a big development studio (they're still tiny by today's standards), and when you're paying your actors per session or per hour, sometimes you have to take a bad performance or two, because you just can't afford to re-record literally tens of thousands of lines over and over.
Was waiting for someone to do this. Two Worlds was billed as being an Oblivion killer by... well, just the developers and nobody else. Due to budget constraints, and perhaps a misconception of their own talents, they decided to voice the game themselves... bad move. Every single character interaction in the game as a result is downright hilarious. |

I entered the thread with the intention of voting for Resi 1. Now i've seen that's your vote I feel like I'm not bringing much but an afirmation. Resi 1 voice acting - Oh my God. Emotions. As an actor you should have them. honourable mention |

However, the acting in Oblivion is actually pretty well done. Come on man, Patrick Stewart and Sean Bean! And that guy who plays Mankor Camoran. He's famous too. Although I don't remember his name. (Ironically) And as for the regular NPC actors, they're not winning any Oscars, but they are still decent voice actors. I mean, could YOU do any better? (I'm just waiting for you to say yes, by the way.) |

Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 884 Joined: 19 Sep 2008 | Grandia II's was absolute shite. Most of the game just had subtitles with no voices, then they'd randomly stick some in in some cut-scenes. Also, "Its me! Mario!" from the N64 made me want to smash his big nose in. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 4917 Joined: 3 Jan 2009 | sheogorath. it's a testament to how bad the comic acting is when the lines are funnier when you have the volume down and read the subtitles. I mean come on, the guy who did the voice for that character should never be allowed near a recording booth again. completely ruined the shivering isles for me with his piss poor attempt at some kind of scottish/irish 'humourous' accent |

The voice acting in the original Resident Evil for the Playstation was downright atrocious. It was like having a drill bore into my head while listening to a retarded kitten trying to recite Shakespeare in french.
What's the worst voice acting you've ever heard in a video game?
