How about both? Since you can play through more than once.
I seriously thought about it, but at the time, it was the easiest place to sell stuff and heal myself. I was also in the middle of the Survivor Guide quest. Next time though... Next time.
I didn't realise it was a choice, i just entered the town the sheriff was like yeah do that so i disarmed. Then some guy walks over to me says he's gonna get me and I thought wtf and shot him.... that didn't work out to well so I reloaded and let him live.
No, I was always and still am a good character, but next time I play through the game there is going to be a city sized crater where Megaton once was!
On my 2-3 playthrough,I know I did...
Yes, twas a beautiful sight! And now my character looks awesome in Tenpennys suit, double win.
U can still complete it because Moira Brown becomes a ghoul in Underworld after.
Nah, I didn't see a reason to. The people there seemed like good people and I was in the middle of the wasteland survival guide quest. Plus now I have a place where I can get fresh, purified water, a place to get well rested, and a place to sell useless scrap metal for ten times what it's worth.
I think you would get a shorter list if you asked who didn't nuke Megaton.
I'm on my second playthrough and did Nuke Megaton this time. I don't feel good about it, though because the Tenpenny Tower residents are a bunch of tossers. Especially the owner. I can see me going postal on thier asses before too long. It's taking all my will power to play as a shit, though, so hopefully Megatons demise will keep me in that mindset.
I saved, blew it up and loaded the save again. Just wanted to see what the explosion looked like :D
Well, if you nuke megaton, you still have access to all the perks of the town (including Moira, just in different places) AND you dont have to worry about Talon company jumping down your throat every so often on a contract kill mission. That said, on my first playthrough I defused the bomb, the second I burned the town down.
I did both, on 2 separate play throughs. Might want to add that as an option.
no, i let them live, but i have abandoned the game because your dad kills himself and it seemed like a big middle finger to me so i never completed it
Nope i didn't. Not out of any altruistic desire, i simply wasn't playing the game through more than once, and i figured there would be no game that actively rewarded you for being evil. So i did not stray from the path.
You think that's freaky? I killed him, stole his hat, then he sends a squad of hitmen after me a few days after I raped ten penny tower! How! Well, I assume it was Mr. Burke, the note reads. Or something like that.
Well, tenpenny tower also has good stores, and a better room. I nuked it just for sadistic pleasure ;)
Yeah, you'd be wrong in this case. Fallout "rewards" the player with different experiences and allies. You're not gimped for being evil like in so many other games.
I did both. Save game. Nuke Megaton Reload Kill whats-his-face, and then murder EVERYONE in the tower... Ended up with the same level of evil as if I had nuked megaton =D
Hells yeah I did! | |
I did, all be it on my second play through, felt good man
The people there were living in Fallout 3. I wanted to end their suffering.
Those people lived in the world of Fallout 3! Of course I nuked Megaton.
I am on my first play through and I have been playing as a good guy so it was spared. Next time though, after I've done the Survival Guide I'll Nuke it, only real question is weather or not I'll wait to find the MIRV, look up the mini nuke ammo code, and pre-nuke the city. Also does anyone know what happens to the Strength Bobble Head in Simms House if you don't grab it before you nuke the place? I would love to go back to to a giant crater to find the bobble head sitting in the middle of a smoldering pile of ash and radioactive waste.
No nukey. For some reason I can't help but play the good guy my first time through... it's a failing, I know.
I did on my second run through with my "scum of the earth" character... but only after I got a nice new TV and saw it in HD glory.
I nuked Megaton, then killed Tenpenny tower. Killing both groups was so fun to do.
I did the same, but then, after saving Megaton, I found out that you can still do the Survival guide after blowing it up. You find Moira has become a Ghoul (though she doesn't know it) and still wants to do the book.
I wanted to nuke it, but like you said, it has many resources and it would've been quite hard without them. Luckily, I have an early saved game, so when I load it one day, I'm gonna nuke it just for fun. (I'll probably delete that saved game)
I have to say, I didn't know about Moira turning Ghoul and one day I was walking by the crater and I see a Ghoul run up to me.
Well i did but only on my third play thru which i was going for evil at lvl 8, easiest way to do it is to blow up megaton! there should be a poll option: yes but i regreted it
I've found all the bobbleheads and now am hunting down the last two Behemoths. Then I'll get the powerup, win the game and start my Evil character and wipe out Megaton.
I did in my "evil" play through. I also shot Tenpenny for fun in that one.
first playthrough: nuked it
| (Pages: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) | |
How many of you decided that Megaton would be better off as a giant crater? How many thought that the good people of Megaton should be spared? And how many of you still can't decide if they should?
Personally, I didn't, because Megaton is a valuable resource of ammo, stimpacks, and beds to sleep in.
