I'd like to see a second-person shooter (well, not necessarily a shooter, but second-person), where you see things through the eyes of your enemies. It's been played with a bit in Pychonauts (when you fight the Lungfish and that crazy girl guide lady thing), and I want to see more of it.
How about an JMMOPP3PSG a Japanese Massively Multi player Puzzle platformer 3rd person shooter.
WIN! Or an RTSFPS2TPSRPG - Real Time Strategy First Person Shooter to Third Person Shooter Role Playing Game
That's what I'm looking for. And the 2nd person seems cool, if they figured out the right control scheme it would be awesome.
I want to see a properly done Third Person/First Person/RTS, where you can command and move units and armies, and then play in 3rd or 1st person with ANY unit.
MMRMMS | |
I've always wanted to see a significant cross between FPS and RTS. Sort of how like BF:2142 works but with a lot more power and importance from the commander. So you basically have one person playing Command and Conquer with loads of different people playing as the individual units. Granted there would be a lot of issues in obeying commands, especially if the commander is a total noob, but I would still like to see it.
They have that, it's called playing any FPS online and being a jerk. See, after that everyone beats the crap out of you, even your own team.
That would be very interesting. Especially in a stealth game.
Here's something I'd like to see. An MMORPG where people actually pay attention to the RP part of the G!
A stealthing MMO? Or am I creating a plague of bastard rogues right there?
Yes. yes you are. | |
First-person RTS, set in the Roman Republic/Empire, the Middle Ages, or Pike and Musket days (or fantasy variants thereof). Instead of a God's eye view, take the worm's eye view that commanders had back then and stick close to your buccinators/flag-bearer/drummer so that your orders can make it further than your voice can. It'd be challenging to do right, but so different... -- Steve
parkour, then maybe thats not crazy
i was thinking of something like that as well. They kind of have that in Siren: Blood Curse and the other Siren game.
id like to see some form of combination of the dance mat controller combo. that would be cool bit more VR. or strap 2 wiimotes to your legs 1 on each arm and be like a ninja.. or somthing.. pirate would be better.. where am i going with this... dont steal my thoughts
Nooooo that would be terrible. And aweful. Terribly aweful. On another note I think the second person thing might be a bit tricky control-wise.
MMRTC Massively multiplayer real time chess The entire gameworld is a massive chess board. You have your pieces and you need to go invade other people's chess boards to gain more pieces for your evergrowing army, while making sure no smarmy knights L over your lines and take out your king.
Battlezone on the PC did it and did it well.
Oh... well I'll have to check it out then, thanks for the tip!
Oh good god, I want to play that NOW! And hey, maybe you could be able to build each different kind of your pieces. Say you wanted your rooks to be stick people, well you could build that.
How about a Sandbox Massive Multiplayer Third Person Roleplay Puzzle Real Time Strategy Shooter with a karma system like KoToR/Fable/Fallout a wide class spread from anything to Dirt farmer to Space marine cowboy super assassin. 100 player raid boss/player vs player dungeons with epic battles the size of Peter Molyneux's Empty Promises and the only way to make a new character is to be born into the world starting with the original beta players who had to reproduce to populate the game.
*sobs* So beautiful. | |
I'd like to see platformers/first person shooters in which you could do some platforming elements and then press a button to switch to first person.
yeah, that's not as outlandih as it should be, I think. Games along the line of Little Big Planet and Garry's mod, that give you the freedom to make your own game, are good ideas. I mean, who has played melonracer and didn't like it?
Its called Grand Theft Auto 4 Online... Also... Parkour, havnt they tried that in mirrors edge...
This sounds cool, although I have a feeling that it would only really work in a situation like that level in Psychonauts.
Cooking genre! Flip the bacon with Gordon Ramsey, and slice cucumbers for Jamie Oliver! Start out working in your local McDonalds and work your way to the top! All on the Wii of course.. Because noone other than retarded, imbecilic 5-year olds (your average Wii-owner) would pay for that crap.
Take your fanboyism elsewhere. The Escapist has no room for disrespectful children.
A decent physics based game with the ability to create vehicles that doesn't make you do it all as a bear in shorts.
good call. You can send the troops in with third person, then become one of the men in the troop. I have been waiting for that for awhile.
new genre idea: super interactive real time puzzle solving sandbox half-rpg (SIRTPSSHRPG) heres how it would work: you, like many other games, take missions and so forth, or complete levels, etc. like other genres, much of the gameplay revolves around solving puzzles and other dilemmas. heres the difference: you solve problems, defeat enemies, and whatsoever HOWEVER YOU WANT. let me explain: its kind of like Mcgiver and DocterWho combined;Example: say theres a giant... i dunno, enemy crab that u have to kill. before u fight this thing, you went and bought a bunch of random stuff, lets say two knifes, a bowling ball, skatebord, bottle rocket, rope, drill, and a grappling hook.no guns or stuff like that. while battling it you are told you need to flip it over and hit its weak spot for massive damage. now, theres no set way, or set of ways, or choices to choose from, all there is is a limitedly destructive and extreamly interactive envirement around you. what you do with what you have is up to you. nothing in the envirement glows to show you it can reacted with, because everything is interactive. you could, for example, tie the rope to a high up area, use the drill to drill a hole through the bowling ball, tie the end of the rope to the bowling ball, prop this swingy bowling ball thing you made with another rope so that if you were to cut this rope the contraption would swing like a flail toward the crab, but this would not be enough to knock down this meme of a beast. so you tie one knife to your grappling hook, and the other to the skate board. you tie the bottle rocket to the knife as well, making some sort of rocket propelled knife. with preperations complete, you rush down to the enemy crab, light your knife rocket thing, let it loose on the crab to hurt its balance, and at the same time shoot your grappling hook knife combo at the rope holding up the bowling ball swingy thing, causing it to hit the crab as the knife rocket hits it, knocking it down. or an infinite number of other possibilities, however you want. you buy stuff, and use it creative ways to get past problems. only problem i can foresee is that you would need some sort of monilithic super computer of a gaming system just to run it, and the controls might be complex, to say the least, but oh well.
SCRTSFPSMMORPG Everyone starts on a certain planet, then develops their army, and when going into battle, it turns into a sport's game menu in which you engage in play calling, after which it switches to first person mode. You can level up your units and areas in an MMO-scenario. Oi, and you can create the countries/planets entirely hence the creation part.
...My brain just broke.

Like FPSRTSMMORPG, or puzzle, adventure, strategy, creation, shooter? Or something of your own invention
