A Quick Silent Hill 2 (PC) Question

I know people probably think I'm retarded for what I'm about to say but; how do you quick attack in Silent hill 2 for the PC? Y'know what I mean, say you have the pipe, instead of doing the attack in which you pick it up over your head, you attack the enemy by jabbing at them. How do you do that? I think it would've saved me a few times by now if I knew how to quick attack but I can't figure it out. So if anyone does have SH2 for the PC and knows how to attack then please tell.

I don't think you can do that thing, though since I haven't played the PC version I'm not sure.

I'd agree but I've done it before. I Don't know how though, it seems to be random.

Have you tryed just tapping the attack button rather then holding it down. Like pressing and releasing it fairly quick?
