Far Cry 2 Problem

I was avidly playing FC2 and was about to load the game (in the 60% completion range) but now every time I try it freezes and i have to restart the console. Anyone else got this problem and can anyone tell me how to fix it? 'Cos I'm not going through the whole thing again.
