Come to think of it, it turned out to be an awful awful idea/movie (well the basis was good... people killing themselves... but come on, fucking trees killed everyone?) I'm all for mothers all of a sudden birthing zombie babies... well not birthing, but the babies eat their way through the mother to escape. |

Although for an original idea, I would say magnetic storms suddenly appearing randomly on the earth, shorting out electrical equipment and tearing metal to shreds would be intriguing. |

On the second Line that is the most horrible thing I have ever heard. |

hmm actually that sounds quite interesting |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1867 Joined: 20 Mar 2008 | Mankind has just developed its first completely functional terraforming device, which in theory can be used to repair the damage that we've done to the world. Something goes terribly wrong, however, and the device backfires, causing the planet to suffer climate changes and tectonic shifts at an alarmingly rapid and unpredictable rate. Panic instills itself in the world's populace, anarchy ensues, and all the while the Earth is slowly dying, perhaps ending up quite like this:

Copy Clerk Posts: 61 Joined: 8 Nov 2008 | How about a meteor is gonna destroy the world in a month, the world ignites in anarchy, the complete collapse of civilization and unbridled hedonism, and some dude has to fight his way across the US to be with his family in his final moments. And he has like two weeks to pull that shit off. Or turn the main character into an attractive woman so desperadoes and the inevitable wasteland-roaming bandits have a reason to be attacking her. |

Damn, I wanted it to be a mini-earth so I could jump hundreds of feet, mind the lava. |

Yeah, and like every playthrough could be unique because of a rapidly changing environment. |

A plot that is more bad stuff is going down, fix it, but if you don't the whole world won't spontaneously combust. |

Oh, you can. Put short, obvious sarcasm is obvious. I just used Spore for a model because I delight in using weaponized terraforming against enemies, and it's the only thing I have to model planets with. And you've got to admit, that looks rather kickass. |

So, a futuristic Majoras Mask? I'd personally like to see more revolving around the Steam-Punk concept. That or just buy independent games. :P |

Paperboy Posts: 37 Joined: 7 Feb 2008 | How about some surrealism in apocalyptic games? Imagine a world where a disease turns everyone into a murderous, dynamite juggling, sarin custard pie throwing version of Carrot Top who can kill you with a single bad joke. Or one where religious extremism turns everyone into killer nuns and priests and the end boss would be a 200ft Mechapope who is intent on bringing the Rapture to Earth. OK, maybe not Carrot Top (that would just be too terrifying) but you get the picture. |

My god that movie was terrible, i would rather watch a documentary about a guy watching paint dry than see that movie again. User was banned for: Poll: Round 4 - North: (1) Turbine vs (2) Valve. (Permanent) |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 851 Joined: 30 Jul 2008 | What about an apocalypse game with more realism. Like the world's economy completely collapses as finite resources begins to run out, anarchy and chaos follows. Every man for himselves in a world of chaos. Or how about a Mars exploration and survival game where you have to manage the first colonists. Survival against hords of doom style martian monsters. |

Reminds me of both Outpost 2 and Alpha Centauri. Both neat back stories and plot lines. Nothing like an entire planet trying to boot you off of it to get the survival mood going. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2795 Joined: 29 Oct 2008 | I think it would still be kind of cool if there was a slightly unique mutant design and the counter-measures were original. Like evacuating Earth. In fact, I just came up with an awesome plot. Starts off the usual way. An infectious disease befowls some nonce who spreads it until it consumes an alarming amount of the population. It continues for a fairly long portion (but not majority) of the story until an Earth evacuation program is initiated. You have to fight your way and get a place in the program. If you manage to get into a space-ship (or whatever) you start flying off to some planet. The flight is another lengthy portion of the plot as the disease has smuggled its way onboard and you have to take it out. This is getting boring now, I'm abandoning it forever. |
Ok I have been playing zombie games for years and I think we need to decide on a new plot device. I am also Tired of Nuclear fallouts so I found a website that should help you with decideing a new good plot point that you would love to play.
I was Picking my choice and I like the Idea of this star that Will collide with ours in 1.4 million years from now. This is actual fact. Think about it. Its the future and the world is going crazy now that this star is going to hit us. I think it would create some intense moments since there is a countdown to beat the game before you eventually die. Like in pikmin.
But here is the link if you dont know any good ones: http://www.exitmundi.nl/exitmundi.htm
Enjoy!
