Ok I never played RPG games before shooters were my thing 1st and 3rd person view, and I enjoyed Killing in games....there I siad it I ENJOY KILLING IN GAMES.
So when my good friend said why dont you try something a little deeper I said whats the harm,
I got Fallout 3 began to play with the express intention of killing everything I blew Megaton Went to tenpenny tower Killed allister and Burke out of pure spite, I had just finshed the first part of the main quest and was on my way to the museum of Tech when I began finding tapes of people saying goodbye to there family, I was touched for all of 3 seconds untill raiders attacked me but then after finishing this segment I was outside SUPERDUPER mart later on when a child came up to me asking for help finding his father......A child?! I turned on VATS and took aim but I couldnt I just couldnt I walked away and Now I cant play anything that kills, this game has created a moral block in my head I always wondered why my mother would say she couldnt play violent games...Im the same I can no longer pull the trigger, at 16 years of age I cant play a shooting game it wrong and can anyone think of a way to fix this

The kids can't be killed in Fallout 3. They don't die, they don't get hurt, in fact, I don't even think bullets can hit them.

If you're completely serious about "fixing" this, I'd say go play some GTA. It's almost impossible to not kill something in those games. Even walking down the street is hazardous.

But in games, I become some sick twisted killer who grins and cackles maniacally while gleefully mowing down anyone and anything I so desire.
Once in Megaton I got caught for pickpocketing and people started shooting at me, the next thing I know everyone in the town is dead, and I don't care.
So I'm like... fuck it... and rig the bomb to blow.
Then out of sheer sadism I wait till the merchants in the town have gone and set up bottle cap mines where they stand and outside the doors of the residents.
A huge smile came across my face when the disembodied legs and arms of a couple who walked outside of their door flew past me as they vanished in a poof of smoke and a cloud of blood.

Does that make me a bad person?

I dont think you can kill kids anyway, the game doesnt let you. Sad times. Unless they attack you of course :/ Weird like that. I've not actually tried. I once felt bad about killing a guy riding a bicycle on GTA: San Andreas. Then I got over it and now Im filling Behemoths face with missile on a daily basis.

Oddly I have alot of misplaced gaming empathy. :|

I also felt the same way in Fable after Sacrificing My 15 wives. I didnt like being evil that much. Partly because I was trying to be a good guy. But I Do like to save a game and go bonkers in the town with My MIRV firing in all directions. Just to let some steam out.

In the end Just go around saving a game and kill Moira over and over and over again. That cheers me up.

Indeed, I didn't know there was no end-game, so I rushed through the main storyline to be painfully butt-raped by the big inmate called Bethesda.

I understand your predicament. There really is no "cure" for this. You either get over it, or you don't. At least you can say you've learned something from a violent game that doesn't involve going postal.

I'm 16, a kid by most peoples definitions, and all this "killing kids is worse then killing adults" seems like a load of crap and rather ageist. I know most people (adults) have the delusion kids are more innocent and therefore better than adults, but I think it's fucking bullshit. There is no other way to describe it. To me an adult life is worth more unless they are already on the last few months of their life, as they have seen and done more and understand life and death better than the average elementary school kid.

As for your problem, I really don't know. You can't kill kids in Fallout 3 and if you really think a virtual kid is too precious to kill anyhow, then I don't know how you got through even the escape from Vault 101, just wait for the ending, even I felt guilt pangs watching Lyons die a horrible death.

Wait, you aren't serious I hope? It's a built in feature to the game, since killing children is frowned upon in most civilized countries. However, the whole game is based upon survival and in order to do this you have to kill things. If you do that quest you will end up saving the town that the kid is from, or you can just go away. Really, just go play some Gears or TF2 or GTA.

No I have No problem talking about brutal murders or even seeing them its just I cant play a game and take a Humanoid life, eg I know there not real. Its jsut wrong in my head like the way if I stand in a shop I wont steal a tv because I know its wrong

Have you tried remembering it's only a game? Just saying, it's not like you're actually murdering anyone; unless Reboot it to be believed, that is.

So long as the love of killing doesn't extend past gaming, I think you'll be fine. Might want to cut back on the violence a bit though.
