Has anyone here played Mount and & Blade? What are your thoughts on it?

It's a nice game but doesnt have story and looks kinda old, but if you can enjoy game without them i recommend. its like a big sandbox game to put it short.

Meh. It is a good game idea which has been turned into a mediochre game. But it is ruined by it's hardware requirements in relation to the actual graphics. I first played it when it was on the disc of PC Gamer 150 at which point a lot was missing but it ran really well. Now it it is excrutiatingly laggy AND my computer is better now. It's especially bad when I look at buildings. Clearly thier way of constructing environments is not very efficient. It's also pretty pricey now.

Most Fun Game of 2008. Seriously (I might not call it "Best," though). I only have a few complaints. The Vanilla version gets old on it's own (which is fine, because there are more mods than I have time for), and I wish it had a better strategy aspect to it, both on the battlefield and off it.

Best sword play simulation ever. But itīs a quite repetetive, melee shooter.

The sword simulation is good until your lance is inexplicably througth someones torso and yet they do not seem at all hurt. Oh yeh, and you can't cut people in half...

It was pretty fun. I agree with Livingston's review of the demo at 1fort: http://www.1fort.com/blog/the-demoman-mount-blade/

This is literally identical to a thread a few days ago. But the search button turned up nothing. It didn't even find this one when I searched Mount & Blade. The escapist needs to sort it out, I reckon.

I kind of like it. I don't yet know if I will buy it but the demo is fun.
