*head explodes* DoW2 has surprisingly low graphical requirements for a game that looks so good.
It looks like I can hang onto my old rig for a little while longer then. I too am impressed that with the shiny graphics it requires such small things of a computer. They must be pulling the modders from the Relic community in!
There was for the original, so probably. That's what got me into it. Really well executed, even at beta stage.
Relic guys are amazing [ right after Origin and Looking Glass in my book ].
Speaking of Relic, what is up with this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Company_of_Heroes_Online
I never really played the first DoW but as everybody keeps going on about how amazingly amazing it is, and I'm a huge RTS fan, I'm definitely going to get this at some point. There a confirmed date or anything?
Theyv probably sold the rights to a chinese MMO firm (like EA did for Dungeon Keeper).
Its out on February 27th. And iv just discovered that pre-ordering grants awesome unlocks, but there a FOUR different pre-order packs, one for each class.
Yep. To this company, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanda I love CoH. Hope I get a chance to check it out someday. Oh well, either way, there's another expansion coming out to whet my appetite.
Ah, thanks for the heads up!
Hm... to buy or not to buy?
I'm severely hoping that the multiplayer area isn't the same as the one in CoH. I could NEVER get on the damn thing, and due to the really pathetic serial key problems, I gave up on playing it in the end. Loved Dawn of War and all the expansions, and can't wait to get this. I am a bit skeptical about those requirements though, technically I have more than the recommended requirements and I'm expecting it to run like a dog with a bad leg.
Sweet my comp can run this without any need for upgrades! w00t for me! Oh yes and w00t for the Almighty God-Emperor of Man!
Sweet. Its great when developers remember that some people don't actually have PCs capable of landing on Pluto.
Ive got a vista and i can barely run Age of Empires 3
I think even the recommended is a bit low... I'll keep my comp a bit higher just to be on the safe side. Company of heroes was one of my friends' favourites. So Relic better put up! I have the DOW1 Cds right in front of me as we speak.
I cant wait, I just bought the DOW:Complete pack during the steam holiday sale, and i've never had so much fun!
I beat the Reccomended specs, so I guess it'll be high settings for me. Yipeeee!
I'm glad the requirements are that low, seeing as I'm running it on a laptop, and well, yeah, we all know how easy they are to upgrade
Looks a bit above Company of Heroes, which is to be expected. I assume they've optimised their engine a bit since then, because that thing can really chug sometimes despite not producing very pretty graphics anymore.
The advancements in technology are as I see them, not to update you graphics card to bizzillion gigs so you can run GTA 5, but to be able to get a game to look amazing on a system that hasn't been updated for a year or so. Also why I think Plasma TV's are junk, since they manage to hump more electricity on a month on a32" screen than my old tube does on a 36" in a year. (ROUGHLY)
